3 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: A decent mid range card; could be worse, could be better in performance, but priced right

Cons: The cooling fan has a bad bearing. I thought I could deal with it, but it's REALLY annoying. After 2 months I guess it's too late to do an RMA, but at this point I'm almost to the point where I'm going to disable the fan and risk it over-heating rather than deal with the intermittent rattling coming from my PC.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Slick,

You shouldn't have to deal with a loud fan on your card. Fan bearings can wear out over time, and this sort of thing is covered under our standard warranty. I see in your post that you've owned the card for under a year, so you should still be covered. I recommend you contact our support team at with your contact info, product info, and a description of the problem so they can start the replacement process for you right away. You can also reach me at if you have any other questions or need further help.

5 out of 5 eggsAbout 4.5

Pros: It is a Mid-ranges card. You basically get what you pay for in this one. No surprises really. I popped it in, Downloaded the drivers and it ran smooth from there. This buy will not give you headaches XD.

Asus M4A78LT-M
Kingston HyperX 8gb ddr3 1600 (just ordered some G.skill to add)
Galaxy GTS 250 128-bit 738Mhz DDR3
LG Flatron 1080p monitor (just recently got)

It will not bottleneck your system until you got a 1866mhz and a intel 6 core XD. So mid-range build is what your looking for like mine :P.

Cons: 1st-You come back wanting more from this card sadly. But you pay for what you get :P. If i could go back i would have waited and got like a gtx 260 or 280 or even higher.
2nd-Kind of Buggy sometimes but that is if you don't update the drivers often.
3rd-Doesn't make me sandwiches :(

Other Thoughts: If i could go back and do it again i would pay 20-80 more dollars if i knew i would be back here again. This card is NOT good at AA or REALLY high resolutions so if your can't live without those things then just go for the gtx 460 or higher :P. 9/10 You get what you pay for and sometimes it does surprise you :D.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Plays whatever I've thrown at it so far with max graphics, and I haven't even overclocked.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: For the price, you can't go wrong.

5 out of 5 eggsGood card, Fan could be better

Pros: Plays the games and I want nicely and come with overclocking software

Cons: Fan is a little loud for me, not sure if its the fan in general or just me.

Other Thoughts: Worth the money for a lower budget card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Great performance mid-range card still on the market today. Works phenomenal with out even overclocking. I can play games like wow on ultra everything maxed out as well as most modern games on high to max settings with high resolution.

Cons: This card can heat up a bit after long use, but not enough to knock off an egg rating. This card comes with two 6 pin connectors... so it should be expected this puppy uses some power compared to other brands of the gts 250 model.

Other Thoughts: As mentioned this model has two 6 pin connector slots (4 molex connectors total, 2 on each 6 pin) to power. However, I use a raidmax 450 watt power stock fan among 3 smaller 80mm fans that work just fine with only one 6 pin connected. No overheating yet. (If oc'ing then i recommend both connectors and higher power supply)

5 out of 5 eggsquality card

Pros: This card, for the price range, offers decent performance on many titles such as fallout 3, left 4 dead, and just cause 2. I've never had problems with overheating, and the card appears to be a quality product. It's been going strong for well over a year.

Cons: Nah.

5 out of 5 eggsSilky Smooth

Pros: Shipped quickly. Got here the next day!! Slapped it in. Ran the drivers. No Problems. I tested it by turning it up all the setting on all my games. "Sims- Medieval, Sims 3 Pets, Wow. Ran smoothly through the HDMI plug-in. And what a great Price!

Cons: It's a kind of big. But it's not that big of a deal.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal

Pros: Easy set up, good looking cooler on it

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Use this for BF2 Project Reality Mod and ran it in all high setting and 4x anti aliasing. Ran good but my movement was a lil quirky(still very playable) but I won't blame the card for this as BF2 has always had some issue or another. Without the anti aliasing everything was fine. So for the money you can't go wrong. Maybe I need to upgrade my 500wt power supply to run the anti aliasing, as it probably draws more power

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent GPU!

Pros: I've had this card for about two years now and had zero problems with anything including game compatibility. It runs very stable and overclocks pretty well. For the price, this seems to be a very powerful card. I can run most games on full/high detail in high resolution with no problems. Great card overall.

Cons: The fan runs a little loud when the card starts to get warm, but not annoyingly loud. This video card is only DirectX 10, but I'm still very happy with its performance.

Other Thoughts: I plan to get another one of these very soon for some SLI action!
