5 out of 5 eggsExcellent card for 4 DVI LED

Pros: 4 DVI output as per the spec, therefore get exactly 4 DVI monitors with 4 DVI input.
The card size is small enough with a basic processor, so do not try to play smart and mix displays with different horizontal scan and refresh rate. Play smart and help this logical circuit by having all 4 monitors identical - a 4 DVI displays that are identical - will help and make your configuratition journey delightful.
This is a winderful underpriced card for programmers or stock labors workstations.
On Fedora 17, the core expand 2x2 as a large display, span 2x horizontal size of your display.

Cons: It is shameful to see that many reviews are complaining about how to use this card. Most of the answer on how to set it up is available on the maker web site.

Other Thoughts: This card is not for those who would like to connect a collection of trashy monitors. It is not for VGA.
Remember this is a 4 ports mapping to 4 DVI monitors. IT IS IN THE SPEC.
If you have been configuring the X11 display and setting the scan rate, you will know how difficult it is to come with a working configuration. So do not expect magic from a simple board to guess a common configuration for a mix of 4 displays.
Thoose who think the card will offer virtual desktop, are totally mistaken. Virtualization is a software mapping of your logical consoles (output). This is a fine piece of hardware.
Once again, make it simple, get 4 DVI displays from the same manifacturer and enjoy this card.
I use it with Fedora, fedora core 16 and fedora core 17.
It is a smart and precide circuitry that is well engineered. It is underpriced for its hardware and software, but I hope I don't have to pay any extra. 7 eggs.

1 out of 5 eggsNot at all what I expected

Pros: Low priced card if you have very specific use in mind

Cons: After struggling for hours to get this card to display video in my new workstation, I had to come back and re-read the description. In a nut shell this line is some what suspect; " It uses two proprietary DMS59 connecters like many Quadro cards". True it has the connectors, but as others have mentioned, the card simply spreads the signal across two screens. It DOES NOT enable true quad monitor output. In addition it only works with monitors that have a DVI input (DVI to VGA adapter will not work). Which to my mind negates the only real benefit of the card; it's low cost. to do that.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for an inexpensive way to use 4 older LCD's for workflow purposes, and unfortunately this card is simply not made. If your trying to combine 4 newish monitors into one big continuous display, this card should work? But otherwise I would avoid it simply to save yourself the frustration. Thankfully the motherboard I purchased at the same time had two PCI x 2.0 x16 slots. An pair of used Nvidia Quadro cards worked flawlessly for my application (and were cheaper). I guess my only major complaint is that if the description made it clear that A; you really dont' get true Quad monitor output, and B; your monitors must have DVI, I would have either re-thought my plan...or just skipped this card.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Splits the display across two monitors, allowing games to span two monitors.

Cons: Splits the display across two monitors, forcing maximized windows to span two monitors.

Other Thoughts: Bought this card for a client. Didn't realize that the card doesn't create four logical desktops, only two. This means that when you try to maximize a window to a screen, the window spans two screens.
I guess this setup would be good for gamers, since you could view two screens at full resolution, but this really isn't a gamers card.

3 out of 5 eggsNot what was expected

Pros: Passive heat sink. Includes adapters for 4 DVI outputs.

Cons: As the previous reviewer stated, it bonds each set of connectors together so you actually only get two real configurable displays. Each pair can be configured and when four monitors are used in a square configuration (2 on top, 2 on bottom), it looks quite nice. However, this should be stated in the details of the product that you don't get true quad outputs.

3 out of 5 eggsPairs 4 monitors into 2 desktops

Pros: Will drive 4 monitors in business computers at a low price. Won't tax the computer's power supply. Fanless - fans usually wear out before other components on a video card. Single width card, doesn't require an empty slot next to the video slot. Fits Dells - the majority of Dell motherboards have the cards facing up rather than down like everyone else. A dual slot card won't fit most Dells, this single width card will.

Cons: Does not give 4 configurable desktops like other cards.
With 4 - 1920X1200 monitors, it gives 2 - 3840X1200 desktops, each on a pair of monitors. With 2 monitors that have different resolutions, it will use the lowest to create the max resolution for the pair; a 1920X1200 paired with a 1680X1080, gave resolution of 3360X1080. Windows 7 desktop theme backgrounds scale to fit horizontally so you lose the top and bottom of the picture. Windows that always open in the middle of your first display will be split between those two monitors. If you make a window full screen it will fill two monitors. Because it pairs the monitors, it was not practical for the project that I was doing.
The splitter cables that are included have a sloppy fit. Even though they have the smile/frown shape similar to DVI, they are so loose that they can be installed on the card upside down which will mess up one of the pins

Other Thoughts: This is for multiple monitors not games where you need high video processing speed to navigate through 3-D environments.
I tried it with 3 brands of monitors. It worked with the KDS and Acer monitors but didn't work at all with either of the DoubleSight monitors that I tried.
