A new addition to Galaxy MDT graphics card lineup, the Galaxy 52GGF4AM5UXX MDT GeForce GT 520 makes a great entry point to splendid DirectX 11 world with the capability and flexibility of connecting up to four displays. This card employs a specially designed hardware to split the two internal outputs into 3x or 4x ways, enabling you to experience quad-display computing using just one graphics card. You'll enjoy an expansive desktop space to see and do more at once without switching applications. Complete with full DirectX 11 support, your gaming, movies and even Windows 7 experience would be enjoyed like never before.

Features:

  • 48 CUDA Cores
  • 1GB 64-bit DDR3
  • PCI Express 2.0 x16

  • newegg Quad-Display Support Featuring 2x DMS59 outputs and including 2x DMS59 to Dual DVI adapters, the Galaxy 52GGF4AM5UXX MDT GeForce GT 520 support up to four displays in a single card. Built around specially developed, cutting-edge hardware, this card overcomes the traditional limitation of two displays on the GeForce GPU by digitally splitting the two discreet internal outputs into three or even four DVI connections to enable robust multi-display capabilities normally only available in expensive commercial products. You can set up the four displays with a combined resolution of 3840x2400 in a 2x2 stack or 7680x1200 in a 4x1 span. When the top concern is maximizing desktop space to see and do more at once without switching applications, this type of MDT is a great choice.
  • newegg Easy Setup Simple, automated setup makes this card an ultra-friendly product for both novice and veteran. As specialized MDT hardware detects the third and fourth displays internally, the entire setup will appear as two discrete fully customizable arrays in Windows instead of four discrete displays. This unique system allows users the convenience of standard video drivers and regular updates from NVIDIA, eliminating the need for unique versions. To make the multi-display experience as easy and intuitive as possible, the MDT GT 520 is bundled with the latest edition of the Galaxy MDT EZY Display window management tool. With just one click of the mouse, users can configure their desktop to automatically maximize windows across individual or multiple screens.
  • newegg Microsoft DirectX 11 Support DirectX 11 GPU with Shader Model 5.0 support designed for ultra high performance in the new API’s key graphics feature, GPU-accelerated tessellation.
  • newegg NVIDIA PhysX Technology Full support for NVIDIA PhysX technology enables a totally new class of physical gaming interaction for a more dynamic and realistic experience with GeForce.
  • newegg Blu-Ray 3D Support Enable a theater quality 3D in your home with seamless support for 1080p Blu-Ray 3D discs across any compatible 3D viewing system over HDMI, including active-shutter glasses and passive polarized displays.
  • newegg NVIDIA CUDA Technology CUDA technology unlocks the power of the GPU’s processor cores to accelerate the most demanding tasks such as video transcoding, physics simulation, ray tracing, and more, delivering incredible performance improvements over traditional CPUs.

1 out of 5 eggsSTAY AWAY

Pros: None

Cons: Very difficult to get it to work. Sometimes I turn off the computer, turn it back on and nothing on the display. Tried 5 different cards on many different machines. Same issues. Very bad design flaws and certainly bad drivers.
Also their support line is garbage. There is always something buzzing in the back ground and when you try to call you would not know if you are connected to an agent or if you are on hold.
When you are finally connected the agent s are clueless. Like they have never dealt with Video Car issues before.
I have never seen a company so crippled like these guys. I would stay away.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks, but needs a better description

Pros: Works.

Cons: Needs a better description.

Other Thoughts: You will need all the monitors to be of the same resolution, mixing resolutions won't work very well. All monitors should run at 60Hz. The monitors are recognised by the driver as two groups of spanned displays, the EZY application does not change the displays at the driver level, it works by trying to keep applications on one half of the spanned displays (one monitor) when you maximize them, but the displays remain spanned in the driver (I had to call support to find this out as I expected it to group or ungroup the displays at the driver level.) As another reviewer mentioned, the EZY application does not play well with others, if you have a second card with displays attached to it, the app will become confused and may not work properly. In conclusion: the card works as they intended it to, it's not exactly how I wanted it to work, but I have all the displays running and I guess that's good enough.

1 out of 5 eggsNot a true four monitor card

Pros: None that I can see

Cons: This device can span two sets of two monitors, making it behave like a dual monitor setup instead of a quad monitor. I do not know many applications for this.

4 out of 5 eggsNice product but did not fit my use

Pros: Easy install
Good price point

Cons: I purchased this to replace 2 dual head cards but found out that it had 2 ports that were then divided by a splitter. Not really an issue at first glance but when it came to resolution I found that both monitors needed to be the same size because I could not adjust the resolution separately. This was a real problem for me because I run 2 24” widescreens and one 19” normal screen. So the 19” looks great but the resolution of the 24” tied to the 19” was degraded. I used this for 1 week trying to get use to it but I could not so this AM I switched back.

Other Thoughts: If I get another 24” wide screen then I will go back to this product.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks with cavets

Pros: - Works with 3 or 4 monitors.
- EZY Display software works with latest drivers (301.42)
- Small footprint
- Relatively quiet fan for its size
- untapped potential

Cons: - The EZY Display software tends to favor span even
when you have it set to separate monitors mode.

- EZY software doesn't play nice when another video card is
set to main screen

- untapped potential

Other Thoughts: I tried this card on its own with 4 monitors and as the 2nd card in a 2 card setup where the main monitor was connected to the other card.

The 4 monitors on the Galaxy MDT 520 setup consisted of 2 Dell 1708FP at 1280x1024 and 2 Hanns G HH221 at 1920x1024 Under this setup you are unable to mix monitor types/sizes on the same port. The resolution is split evenly across the two monitors no matter what sizes you connect. Your best bet is to team monitors of the same size. The display software worked pretty well here.

In the 2 card setup I have a 460GTX I use as my main monitor while the 520MDT handles the other Hanns G and the 2 Dell screens. The first problem is that the EZ display software will only recognize more than 2 monitors if one or the other port on the card is set as the main screen. The other issue is that the ports on the 520 are always spanned. Again, you are best served by running identical monitor types.

With better software this cards full potential would be unlea

3 out of 5 eggsCard works well. Software and documentation do not

Pros: Significantly better than my on-board card, supports multiple displays, quiet and light on power consumption. Works.

Cons: Difficult to set up (Had to disable my on-board card. That is easy enough to do, but it would have helped to mention that in the directions.) The software to change it to several independent displays does not work. Does not support VGA connections, even through a DVI-VGA adapter.

Other Thoughts: Did not get this on Newegg, purchased it at a big-box store on clearance.

1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible

Pros: Functionallitly does not work with current supplied and availible drivers, however if all you want is spanned 2x2 stacked display modes (landscape) 3300x1920 this will work for you.

Cons: Bought two of these to put into a new system and get 8 monitor output, and soon found out I am not even going to get 4 monitors to work.

Drivers out of the box did not work, Newest Nvidia Drivers did not work. Galaxy Tech Support did not take or return calls.

Finally found Notice on Galaxy website (see Other thoughts for the notice), that this product has not able to be updated since March 16th 2012.

Other Thoughts: Product states up to 4 digital displays at up to 1920x1200 resolution, and Supports 2x1, 3x1, 4x1 spanned and 2x2 stacked display modes (landscape) this is incorrect!
