The Galaxy GeForce GTX 640 GC 1GB version graphics card is factory overclocked at 950MHz which is 50MHz higher than the reference card. An array of NVIDIA exclusive technologies, such as NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync for stuttering- and tearing-free gaming, NVIDIA Surround with up to three monitors (The card has one HDMI interface, one D-sub interface and one DVI interface), new Anti-aliasing modes of FXAA, NVIDIA Blu-ray 3D support Ready, and NVIDIA PhysX Technology works in concert to ensure you get the most immersive and impressive gaming experience.

  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA PhysX Technology Full support for NVIDIA PhysX technology enables a totally new class of physical gaming interaction for a more dynamic and realistic experience with GeForce.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To three Monitors Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators.
  • newegg New Anti-aliasing Modes: FXAA Anti-aliasing smoothes out jagged edges but can be demanding on framerates. FXAA is a new antialiasing technology that produces beautiful smooth lines with minimal performance impact. And with Kepler based GPUs, you'll be able to enable FXAA in hundreds of game titles through the NVIDIA Control Panel. The second mode, TXAA, is an in-game option that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for even higher visual fidelity.
  • newegg NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready Connect your PC to any 3D enabled TV over HDMI and enjoy a cinematic 3D experience in your home with seamless support for 1080p Blu-ray 3D discs.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Overclock is Ridiculous

Pros: -Cheap
-Runs everything except hardcore games fairly well
-Ive never seen it go above 47C

Cons: Doesnt come with GDDR5.

Other Thoughts: Using Precision X, ive managed to run overclock it all the way up to +173 Core and +115 Memory over what it comes out of the box. With the galaxy overclock that makes it +223 Core overclock o.O

I raised my Heaven benchmark FPS from 27 up to 38 from this overclock. Thats nuts. Even with this, ive never once seen it go above 47C. Thats just bonkers considering how gimped the GT series is supposed to be.

If this came with GDDR5, the sky would be the limit in terms of performance.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's great if you don't game

Pros: Great videos, easy to install, doesn't require additional power lead from power supply

Cons: Horrible for gaming. If you're a gamer I'd skip this card for sure. My old 9400 outperforms this card. It's great for youtube I guess but otherwise this one is a dud.

Other Thoughts: On League of Legends Medium Video settings I get about 45 fps and it dips to the 25-30 range in team fights. I gave the card 3 stars because it's only good for half the things most buyers would be using it for.

5 out of 5 eggsWhoaaa!

Pros: -Fast (enough)
-Looks cool
-Runs Cool (maximum temp I had on 3 hour game was 45"C and idles around 28-29"C)
-Easy to install
-No 6 pin power needed
-Overclock

I was quite surprise with this card. It runs modern game pretty well. I get about:

36 fps Hitman absol ultra
57 fps skyrim ultra (with 33 mods)

You'll be surprise how this "Tiny" card performs. :) Yes a tiny card compare to the same performance from the big blocks of Nvidia 9xxx GTX series.

Cons: Not a hardcore gaming card. Get the GTX 550 ti or 650 ti if you really want to go ultra on every new games out right now.

Other Thoughts: I wasn't planning to game with this card, but after testing it, it's good enough for gaming. 384 Cuda core is enough for old and new games (2006 - 2012) to run at a decent and playable FPS.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well for the price

Pros: Easy install, very quiet so far, gets me 100+ fps on WoW while having 2 tabs up on Firefox dual-monitoring. I like what it does for not having a dedicated power supply!

Cons: None.
