A new addition to Galaxy MDT graphics card lineup, the Galaxy 61TGF4AM5UNX MDT GeForce GT 610 makes a great entry point to splendid DirectX 11 world with the capability and flexibility of connecting up to four displays. This card employs a specially designed hardware to split the two internal outputs into 3x or 4x ways, enabling you to experience quad-display computing using just one graphics card. You'll enjoy an expansive desktop space to see and do more at once without switching applications. Complete with full DirectX 11 support, your gaming, movies and even Windows 7 experience would be enjoyed like never before.

  • newegg Quad-Display Support Featuring 2x DMS59 outputs and including 2x DMS59 to Dual DVI adapters, the Galaxy 61TGF4AM5UNX MDT GeForce GT 610 support up to four displays in a single card. Built around specially developed, cutting-edge hardware, this card overcomes the traditional limitation of two displays on the GeForce GPU by digitally splitting the two discreet internal outputs into three or even four DVI connections to enable robust multi-display capabilities normally only available in expensive commercial products. You can set up the four displays with a combined resolution of 3840x2400 in a 2x2 stack or 7680x1200 in a 4x1 span. When the top concern is maximizing desktop space to see and do more at once without switching applications, this type of MDT is a great choice.
  • newegg Easy Setup Simple, automated setup makes this card an ultra-friendly product for both novice and veteran. As specialized MDT hardware detects the third and fourth displays internally, the entire setup will appear as two discrete fully customizable arrays in Windows instead of four discrete displays. This unique system allows users the convenience of standard video drivers and regular updates from NVIDIA, eliminating the need for unique versions. To make the multi-display experience as easy and intuitive as possible, the MDT GT 520 is bundled with the latest edition of the Galaxy MDT EZY Display window management tool. With just one click of the mouse, users can configure their desktop to automatically maximize windows across individual or multiple screens.
  • newegg Microsoft DirectX 11 Support DirectX 11 GPU with Shader Model 5.0 support designed for ultra high performance in the new API’s key graphics feature, GPU-accelerated tessellation.
  • newegg NVIDIA PhysX Technology Full support for NVIDIA PhysX technology enables a totally new class of physical gaming interaction for a more dynamic and realistic experience with GeForce.
  • newegg Blu-Ray 3D Support Enable a theater quality 3D in your home with seamless support for 1080p Blu-Ray 3D discs across any compatible 3D viewing system over HDMI, including active-shutter glasses and passive polarized displays.
  • newegg NVIDIA CUDA Technology CUDA technology unlocks the power of the GPU’s processor cores to accelerate the most demanding tasks such as video transcoding, physics simulation, ray tracing, and more, delivering incredible performance improvements over traditional CPUs.

1 out of 5 eggsTo be avoided

Pros: Probably OK if you want to use for advertising or some other type of display marketing

Cons: DOES NOT SUPPORT individual monitors. The manufacturer's website says you can have a triple monitor setup in what they call Split Monitor mode where each of the monitors stand alone, in an extended Windows Desktop configuration, but it does not work. Two monitors will always combine into a span mode. Period. Their in-house software allows some independent monitor functionality, but it doesn't remember configuration between reboot. In short, this card is essentially useless. You will always get video split across two monitors in a 3 or 4 monitor configuration. I just called Tech Support, and was told that "The low end cards don't support that", i.e, split monotir mode. The included manual and quick install guide says it does, but it does not! This makes this card useless for any business application, and unless you like staring at the gap between your monitors, is pretty poor for gaming. If you want to set up a multi-media show at a mall store, it might be OK since nobody pays attention to those anyway.

Other Thoughts: Thank G*d I didn't spend a lot for this muffler. I got it on sale, and after rebate, am not out of pocket much.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi pl21046,

I'm sorry you had such difficulties in getting your MDT GT 610 set up and running the way you needed. An issue in the MDT EZY software that prevented settings from being saved in certain situations was identified and corrected in the latest version of the software, which you can download here:

www.galaxytechus.com/download/Galaxy_MDT_EZY_Display_V4.0.1.zip

Please give this a try, and if there's any other way I can help please contact me at Andrew@galaxytechus.com.

Thanks,

Andrew Fischer

3 out of 5 eggsMultiple Displays

Pros: Great resolution, comes with easy management software. The price is excellent for what you get.

Cons: Not four independent monitor outputs. You get two outputs that are independent or can be "stretched" across two monitors. You can drag whatever you like to the spanned display but it is a little misleading.

5 out of 5 eggsa.k.a. GT 520

Pros: Supports 4 monitors
Quiet
Perfect for an everyday pc
Great for less demanding games and AutoCad
Works great with Windows XP
The gloss grey finish looks great in any case
1 GB Buffer memory
Nvidia's drivers are flawless

Cons: Is not compatible with analog monitors, a VGA to DVI adapter will not function, Newegg already states this in their description. But no big deal because both of my monitors have DVI ports as well. This card can be fussy when using more than one monitor.
I wouldn't say this card is built for gaming.
DDR3 buffer memory.
Not really a con but this card is a GT 520 with 610 printed on the box, same performance, different name.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card in January of 2013. I bought it to replace my aging integrated GMA 3100 graphics. It boosted my system from a clunky old computer to a decent gaming pc, after i upgraded almost everything else. I can play less demanding games on medium to high settings at 30 fps, demanding games on low at 25 fps. If you have a Nvidia card, make sure to download their nTune driver so you can overclock your card, I o.c. this card but the fan still keeps it around 41 Celsius. Never bring the core clock over 1010 MHz and dont touch the mem bus or the card will hang up under load. This card is capable of playing demanding games if you turn the settings down and you overclock a little.

I play all games @1440x900 with the gpu core clock @1010 MHz and memory bus @500 MHz , here are some averages from fps counter on fraps:
ARMA II: everything on low/very low 29 fps
DayZ: same settings 25 fps
Sims 3: maxed out settings 24 fps
Arctic Combat: High settings 4x AA 34 fps
Battlefield 1942: max settings 230 fps

My system specs:
Core 2 Duo E8400 @3.00 GHz
Galaxy GT 520 "610" @1010 MHz
PNY 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM @667 MHz
Foxconn G3302 Motherboard G33 Northbridge, ICH9 Southbridge
300W Stock PSU
Seagate SATA I 160 GB HDD
Seagate SATA I 80 GB HDD
2x Optical DVD drives
Dell Vostro 200 Case
2x 80mm fans
2x Dell E198WFP 19" Monitors 1440x900 each
Windows XP Professional 32 bit Service Pack 3

2 out of 5 eggsNot what I was hoping for

Pros: Does not appear to interfere with onboard display driver, so you can have both running at the same time.

Cons: I purchased this video card in hopes of getting past the 2 monitor limitation built into Windows 7. Galaxy says it supports up to 4 independent monitors. Unfortunately what it does is combine the 4 monitors into 2 in what is called “span” mode. In span mode 2 monitors are seen as one large monitor.

Along with the card comes a little software that attempts to trick Windows into seeing each monitor as independent. Unfortunately the program sucks at this.

Other Thoughts: First, anything that is windows generated, warnings, pop ups, even Windows Media Center (on which I watch all my programming) will see the monitors in span mode (no matter how you set the software) such that the image is split between two monitors with the center of the screen (or the pop up) right at the split between the two.

Second, windows sees the displays as “GM Matrx C”. Whatever this display driver is – it is not hdcp compatible (no matter what nVidia control panel tells you). And since one of my hdmi cables goes to my receiver, this display type does not see the receiver or its digital audio capabilities.

All in all, not a good buy. Fortunately I did not break the bank (after rebate) on it and I am still able to use the onboard graphic drivers along with this card, so I got my four display setup and have hdcp and audio recognized through windows properly with the onboard graphics card.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for multi tasking

Pros: this is a great card for multi tasking. It was easy to install and hook up the extra monitors and get this working. I ony have 3 montitors right now but this is great when you have mutiple browsers, spread sheets, and emails.

Cons: the only con i have is that fact that you will have to purchase more monitors. these days extra monitors pretty cheap.
