The Galaxy GeForce GTX 650 Ti GC 1GB version graphics card is factory overclocked at 966MHz which is 38MHz higher than the reference card.  The upgrades and improvements found in the GTX 650 Ti, or “Titanium” edition, are anything but minor.  The new card features a full two times the number of CUDA cores vs. the standard GTX 650 for a massive boost in performance while still maintaining a very accessible midrange price. The Galaxy GeForce GTX 650 Ti GC 1GB version graphics card includes a near-silent single fan cooler.   An array of NVIDIA exclusive technologies, such as NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync for stuttering- and tearing-free gaming, NVIDIA Surround with up to three monitors (This card has one mini HDMI port and two DVI ports), Anti-aliasing modes of TXAA, NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready, and NVIDIA PhysX Technology works in concert to ensure you get the most immersive and impressive gaming experience.

  • newegg Kepler GPU Architecture NVIDIA's Kepler GPU architecture has been designed from the ground up not just for maximum performance in the latest DirectX 11 games, but optimal performance per watt. The new SMX streaming multiprocessor is twice as efficient as the prior generation and the new geometry engine draws triangles twice as fast. The result is world class performance and the highest image quality in an elegant and power efficient graphics card.
  • newegg NVIDIA PhysX Technology Full support for NVIDIA PhysX technology enables a totally new class of physical gaming interaction for a more dynamic and realistic experience with GeForce.
  • newegg NVIDIA Adaptive Vertical Sync Nothing is more distracting than framerate stuttering and screen tearing. The first tends to occur when framerates are low, the second when framerates are high. Adaptive V-Sync is a smarter way to render frames. At high framerates, V-sync is enabled to eliminate tearing, at low frame rates, it's disabled to minimize stuttering. It gets rid of distractions so you can get on with gaming.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround with Up To three Monitors Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages human peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators.
  • newegg TXAA AntiAliasing Antialiasing helps to smooth out jagged lines in games. Existing techniques like MSAA are effective at removing jagged lines in still images but struggle with crawling and shimmering artifacts when the player is in motion. TXAA is a new antialiasing mode that combines MSAA, temporal filtering, and post processing for the highest edge quality and minimal shimmering during gameplay.
  • newegg NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready NVIDIA 3D Vision brings a fully immersive, stereoscopic 3D experience to the PC. A combination of high-tech wireless glasses and advanced software, 3D Vision transforms hundreds of PC games into full stereoscopic 3D. Get up to 2x monitor and keyboard brightness with NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology. In addition, you can enjoy 3D movies and 3D digital photographs from 3DVisionLive.com in eye popping, crystal-clear quality.

1 out of 5 eggsA miserable experience

Pros: Cheap

Cons: The card displays serious artifacts on two different monitors (though DVI), on a system and monitor that work flawlessly with another video card. The artifacts begin immediately at boot (in the CMOS/BIOS/EFI) and continues throughout the boot process and into the OS. So it's time to RMA it, right?

Galaxy's Tech Support is amazingly convoluted. I used to work in a computer shop. So I've RMA'd for pretty much every parts manufacturer (Asus, Intel, AMD, MSI, Hitachi-IBM, WD, Seagate, Maxtor, Quantum, Samsung, Abit ... you name it, I've RMA'd it). Galaxy's requires signifantly more hoops to be jumped through than anyone else.

Once you do that, Galaxy are professionals at stonewalling you.

I describe the issue has above, paraphrased, from emails:
Galaxy: What OS are you using? Does it work with other monitors? Have you cleaned the contacts?
Me: It happens before boot (sent them screenshots), happens on two monitors, etc
Galaxy: Have you updated drivers
Me: IT HAPPENS BEFORE DRIVERS EVER LOAD. HAPPENS in the BIOS!
Galaxy: What is the card's temperature when this happens?
Me: IT HAPPENS WITHIN 5 SECONS OF BOOT. The card is at room temperature!

I have no confidence this issue will ever be resolved. So if you opt to get a Galaxy card, and you need to go through the RMA, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Other Thoughts: Splurge $10 more and buy some other card. Save the hours of headache.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Functional Card

Pros: Cheap also sold the "$75 dollar game coupon".
This card is tiny, which was a plus for my mITX build.
Runs all games I've tried smoothly on high settings.

Cons: None. Perhaps they could provide a single slot bracket since the card is small but that's about it.

5 out of 5 eggsahhhhhh nice

Pros: Sweet little card, good temps, much, much faster than I would have thought, perfect for budget, I mean affordable gaming rig.

Cons: Minus 0.5 egg: mini HDMI failed after 1 month. This was loose to begin with I thought it might be the cable but tried cable in other card with mini HDMI and the cable is not the problem. UGH! Why do the even use flimsy mini HDMI yuk, ptui, blech.

Other Thoughts: OC core clock to 1016 MHz and memory to 1850 MHz ( X 2 gives 3700Mhz or 7.4Gbps or however the heck you want to express it) No stability issues with fan profile at 1:1 the max temp I am seeing is 62 C after an hour of ULTRA settings full screen looping of Heaven.

The rig which this is in:

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ R Version 3 FC

CPU: AMD 4-Core FX-4100 3.6G 8M OC to 4.0/4.4 turbo

5 out of 5 eggsGood card

Pros: Small, quiet and reasonably powerful. I've run Far Cry 3 and Bioshock Infinite at Ultra quality and 1900x1200 resolution and both were playable. This with an Ivy Bridge Core i5 and a Maximus V Gene and 8 gigs of memory. I was actually quite impressed.

Cons: Not nearly as competent as my 660 Ti but I don't expect it to be. But certainly good enough for single monitor games.

Other Thoughts: Has a mini HDMI output but no cable or adaptor. That's just wrong. The included coupon is of no value whatsoever unless you happen to play one of the games. Can't even sell it on Craigslist.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Linux

Pros: I bought the card to replace my AMD 5770 because I was tired of stability issues caused by the terrible AMD drivers for Ubuntu. I had heard that the Nvidia drivers were much more stable on the desktop so I decided to make the switch.
The card was smaller than I expected, space is not a concern for me but i guess it helps with airflow. The drivers installed fine, all I had to do was type "sudo apt-get install jockey" in the terminal, and I let Jockey handle the installation automatically. It detected and isntalled the drivers in no time. It was honestly more of pain to remove the AMD drivers than it was to install the Nvidia drivers.

The card runs smooth both for native linux games and games on wine.

The box is sexy.

The card runs pretty cool, which helps keep my room cool too :D

Cons: I wich the card came with a mini hdmi adapter, and the ports could have been arranged better, it's hard to fit an adapter since my monitors are hdmi/vga instead of dvi, which forces me to run one of them with an adapter from the port that sits right next to the mini hdmi slot. I had to be more aggressig than I would have liked to get them both to fit.

I've had some very minor issues with screen tearing and Vsync, but i think that's more of a compiz issue than an Nvidia one, so I'm not even sure it belongs on this review. It's only really noticable when I play Bastion, and maybe a little with Minecraft.

Other Thoughts: Heven't had the chance to test Cuda rendering on Blender yet.
Physx isn't supported on Linux as far as I know.

2 out of 5 eggsQuite weak, not worth the asking 140-150

Pros: Runs very cool, on load, around 55c or less.
Very quiet.
Decent performance at 1680 x 1050

Cons: Chokes at 1080p, especially when VRAM usage is around 650mb or above. Despite the 1GB VRAM, it cannot actually handle anywhere near that amount. It is really bandwidth limited.

- Would never buy from Galaxy again. Rebate has been in processing since Jan and has yet to be sent out despite me paying for no-wait service. Refuses to answer emails regarding this.

Other Thoughts: If you buy this, do not expect good 1080p performance. Do not expect to be able to turn up textures or AA settings. And do not expect to ever get your rebate from this company.

5 out of 5 eggsIan

Pros: this card is great, it plays all my games at high settings at 1080p resolution. Borderlands 2 looks great, at highest settings 8x AA, physx effects on high, 55 fps. Never gets hot stays around 42 degrees celcius. I am very satisfied.

Cons: none
