Replacement also bad
- Pros: It's fast when it works, faster than most other 8600GT's. Fine for 2D
- Cons: I have got a replacement card, after first one started showing horrible artifact in all games and locking up PC after 2-5 minutes of gaming. Second card (replacement) did not show artifact but still locks up computer in all games after some time. UT2004 can't even launch, Titan Quest freezes in 10 sec, World in Conflict in about 5min, and so on. I have to restart my PC every time I start playing something.
- Other Thoughts: It's not running hot, I used it huge household fan blowing on it with max temp 40C. I checked this card in different PC's - same picture. It's not good if both cards have same problem. Will not use Foxconn cards again.
Artifacts
- Pros: Fast enough, not really hot, never went over 50C, average 45C.
- Cons: I had a lot of problems with it in all games. Every time I want to play sompething graphics intensive I see artifacts and eventually computer will stop responding every 5 sec. I guess it's not because of overclocking, I underclocked it to a standard settings 540/1400 and even lower, I had less artifacts and no lockups but it still looked terrible. Looks like somebody took 8500GT and overclocked it to a 8600GT level.
- Other Thoughts: It works fine in 2D, Windows.... Will RMA it tomorrow. I used XFX, eVGA and MSI 8600GT's and all where fine, this one is dissapointment.
Artifacts
- Pros: Runs very fast, the overclocked settings create great performance. Not a terribly huge card, though the fan is a bit large.
- Cons: Began to artifact on me about 2 weeks after buying. I never OC'd the card beyond the settings it came with.
- Other Thoughts: Good card while running! Just went bad on me, happens sometimes. RMA'ing for a replacement, hopefully this one will last a bit longer.
