4 out of 5 eggsGood card for gaming

Pros: It was inexpensive during the Shell Shocker. It plays Crysis on High by default.

Cons: Ran too hot in my Ultra case so I used a case blower under it and it ran great. I now installed into my older eagle Tech case and it runs cooler, but I decided to keep the blower under it anyway, just in case.

Other Thoughts: The warranty is too short for my taste but for the price can't really complain. I just added an extended warranty from square trade, for peace of mind. I have it hooked up to my 37" inch LCD TV with a DVI TO HDMI cable and it plays Crysis, COD4 without any issue, it looks awesome. I almost feel like I'm cheating playing Crysis. Cause the night look so much more clear with my Vizio, I don't need the "I" for night vision any more compared to my lcd 19" screen connected with a vga cable.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT Graphics/Picture/Gaming For A Budget.

Pros: Inexpensive (Even less purchased during Newegg "SHELL SHOCKER"), Great Graphics (Have been able to MAX everything I throw at it CoD4, CoD5, Red Alert 3, Burnout Paradise, etc.), Great picture (Looks crisp on 22" LCD and also DVI-Out to HDMI-In on 40" HDTV.

Cons: I didn't find a PCI-E Power Adaptor in the box, but my Thermaltake Power Supply has one Integrated (So not a biggie)

Other Thoughts: Impressed.

3 out of 5 eggsNewegg excellent!! Beware of sparkle 9600gt

Pros: Newegg's awesome customer service

Cons: Sparkle 9600gt core runs at 650mhz, memory runs at 600MHZ DDR(1200mhz)

Tech spec says it 900mhz ram

Other Thoughts: Beware of the sparkle 9600gt, nvidia specs mention the ram suppose to run at 900mhz but the sparkle only works at 600mhz

5 out of 5 eggsSHELL SHOCKER!!!! GREAT VALUE!!!!

Pros: I was looking to upgrade my single 8800 GTS 320MB for a while but couldnt decide on a 9800GT or a 9600GT. Browsing newegg daily looking at cards when I saw the SHELL SHOCKER!!!! To good of a deal to pass up. Picked up two johnny on the spot.

Both cards work great in my evga 680i board. The 2nd card was a tight fit in my Coolmaster Centurion midtower case, but it fit after moving some drives around and unhooking the external case USB cable during the install.

Both work flawlessly and was a tremendous upgrade from my older 8800 GTS 320.

Cons: I dont know if this is the case for all 9600GTs, but they are loud at start up but calm down when my system boots up.

No molex adapter included (none advertised), but not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Having a 19" LCD, these 9600GT's in SLI do the trick for me. If I had a larger display, I probably would have leaned toward the 9800GTs.

4 out of 5 eggsSpecs?

Pros: Bought 2 of these for SLI. Shell Shocker price was too low to pass on. Overall, I am pleased with the performance.

Cons: The specs of this card weren't what I expected. The link to the Sparkle site was for the SF-PX96GT512D3-HP card. and it was spec'd at 650/1800 (GPU/MEM clocks). The cards I received were 650/1200. Now, the Sparkle site shows 650/1625! This is not the -HP version, so I were buying one of these now, I would assume 650/1200.

Other Thoughts: I was able to overclock memory on one card to 1800 (highest speed R1v@tuner would allow), and the other, to 1680. Although I haven't tried to maximize the GPU speed, I'm now running the pair in SLI at 720/1650. The bump in GPU speed compensates for slower memory speed versus the default 650/1800.

3 out of 5 eggsNot up to NVidia reference specs.

Pros: It was cheap and well constructed.

Cons: Memory stock clock speed set at 600 MHz not 900 MHz. Nvidia's reference specs for the memory on the 9600GT should be stock 900 yet this cards stock core speed is 600 even though it over clocks to 900 stable anything above that and the thing locks up.

Other Thoughts: The one I received was indeed the one in the pictures having the same fan so they may have updated the pictures since the earlier reviews.

Check the memory stock speed if you bought this card, it is set at 600 stock.

I got it on the shell shocker deal so it was a nice cheap replacement for my 7900 GS. The 9600 GT is a fast low range card and I would wager that from other manufacturers the card can be over clocked rather nicely but this one is by no means a good card to try to overclock.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Shell Shocker Card....THANKS!

Pros: Tried this card out with Windows 7 beta and got very nice desktop graphics ratings. 7.9 out of 7.9. Gaming was a 5.8 out of 7.9. This card also works well with Ubuntu Linux 8.10.

Cons: I should have bought two instead of just one at the Shell Shocker price of 59.99
And yes the card is a little louder than my last one.

Other Thoughts: Replaced a HD 2600 Pro 512MB from Diamond....What a hunk of junk that was.
