ATI hasn’t forgotten the legions of computer owners with AGP interfaces that put them at the top of their game. Their Radeon x1650PRO based card is proof of that. They loaded it with 512MB of GDDR2 memory to handle the needs of today’s graphics intensive operating systems and software.
And when it’s time to retire the system this card is in from daily use, it will make a top-notch HTPC. The DVI-I port is dual link capable so you can attach it to screens with resolutions up to 2560x1600. There’s also a TV out for HDTV/component, S-Video and composite connections. There is a Xilleon TV encoder for exceptional quality analog output.

BF2 - 2142 on AGP 4x/8x
- Pros: An AGP card the has 512 DDR2 memory.I have been looking for a card that would allow me to extend my AGP slot and still play the current games. I upgraded from an ATI x800 256mb card.
- Cons: none, yet. the card works as advertised.
- Other Thoughts: small package and works well with the Shuttle XPC small form factor.
Great video option for Vista...
- Pros: Great card as mentioned for VISTA. If you have an AGP driven box for video and want to get the full benefit of VISTA new desktop features, then this is the card to get, period. Took my son's P4 3.0Ghz machine from a 1.0 to a 4.2 rating for VISTA Business. Which by the way, the business version runs graphics great for me, I mean, it looks GOOOOOOD! I am running 1600x1200 resolution on an 8 year old 20" CRT, and WOW!! Can't go wrong with this choice my friends. The ram on this card is awesome!
- Cons: Pricey for an AGP card, I know it's the best AGP you can get, but come on, AGP is going away, so better buy a cheaper AGP card as backup in case 2 years from now, this thing decides to give up the ghost. I'm keeping the 50 dollar AGP card that was in the box for this purpose. Does not support DirectX 10. I'm fine with 9 myself.
- Other Thoughts: Well worth saving the money for. I was not going to go out and build a 1,500 dollar machine just so I could run DirectX 10, My P4 3.0Ghz with 2 GIG DDR400 ram is running VISTA quite nicely for my taste. If you don't already have it, you will require 2 GIG ram minimum for VISTA. The new OS is a memory hog.

Great Great AGP Card
- Pros: The Video Playback is super as well as the DVD playback, The Fan is not as loud as the others are sying, I cant even hear it unless my case is open. This is a big improvment over my X850XT. I was able to push all my settings up on every game I play to max(Except for Vegas) with minimal issues
- Cons: I would say the only thing I would change is the Fan and Heatsink but thats only because I do nothing but game and edit video
- Other Thoughts: All I have to say is this card runs Rainbow Six Vegas
on a system that should not run it, my CPU is a 2.6 P4(I know im werkin on it :P ) and the game takes a few to start but after that it looks amazing(for an AGP card)and runs perfect. If you need an AGP card this is the one ! ! ! ! ! !
Best AGP card you'll find
- Pros: This card is able to run HL2 at 1680x1050 at all the highest settings including HDL with a 42fps avg frame rate. Runs most my other games with very high settings enabled. This is the best AGP card you're going to get for an aging system.
- Cons: Very loud fan. This card would not be suitable for a multi-media solution where the extra noise is an issue and is the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5. A full metal case without a see through side panel would probably help with the noise.
- Other Thoughts: I looked all over localy (Phoenix, AZ) for an AGP card of this caliber in the stores but wasn't able to find one anything like this one for the price that it's being offered on NewEgg. If you're trying to keep an older AGP system running for a while longer then this is the card for you.
- Pros: This is a good mid-range card for the money. It was a big improvement over my 9600XT card. I bought this primarily for gaming and it does everything I want it to do. I've been using it for almost a year without any problems, even with the drivers problems noted by others. This will be my last upgrade on my current AGP system.
- Cons: The gpu heatsink fan leaves a lot to be desired...it was neither effective or quiet, but a after-market fan from Zalman fixed those problems very effectively.
- Other Thoughts: I've seen a lot of reviews for ATI cards that always complain about the heatsink/fans. When is ATI going to learn to start putting decent ones on their cards?
