The ATI FirePro V8800 is ideally suited for users who work with large data sets or shader-intensive applications and who demand high-end computational power and the superior visual flexibility.
Based on a new-generation GPU with 1600 stream processors, its ultra parallel processing architecture helps maximize throughput by automatically directing graphics horsepower where it’s needed.
This card screams
Pros: handles everything you throw at it, autocad, sketchup, Thea render

Pros: This thing can crunch numbers and make opengl programs beg for mercy. Great for entertainment setups that use massive resolutions.
Cons: 1. Updated drivers caused computer to crash during monitor configuration.
Other Thoughts: This was a headache to set up. I have never used an ATI product and this will probably be my last if I don't find it any more better than the Quadro 4000.

More power than the Apollo Program
Pros: This monster has got more computing power than the entire Apollo Program ever had. If you must run four 30-inch 4.1MP monitors simultaneously, this is the card for it.
Cons: Max. energy consumption at 208 Watts sounds a tad excessive. Having 4 x DisplayPorts is of no great benefit if you want to connect projectors to this thing, since even pricey DCI-Class projectors use only SDI and DVI ports, and the less expensive ones use DVI, HDMI, and VGA. This card hasn't got any of those. A graphics cards at this astronomical price point should have more than just one type of connectivity -- i.e. DisplayPort 4-times over.
Other Thoughts: Does anyone know where the 3-pin DIN standard "Stereo 3D Connector" connects to? Could not figure that one out.

for the guy below me
Pros: Are you serious right now? This isn't a video gaming card. Do some research before you give it a horrible review...

expensive piece of 5hit
Pros: minus-0-none. My old OC'd gtx260 outperformed this card in every aspect in CAD 3D (SolidWorks and Solidedge) even this one was in lower res : 1920x1200
Cons: Could not get 2560x1600 resolution to display in catalyst control center at all for gateway XHD3000
Other Thoughts: Have an old GTX 260 and wanted to try new high end workstation card. what i was thinking? going to ATI. Never again ATI. I'll stick to something that works. All www reviews got me to try v8800, well it did not work for me......back to SQ1. I am neigher NV or ATI fan. Just need somehting that works ....

Welcome to the new era in GPUs
Pros: 1600 Stream Processing Units
Cons: $1360 price tag? A little out of my price range at the moment...but only for the moment.
Other Thoughts: With all workstation applications and render agents moving towards the use solely of the GPU, this thing is ahead of the pack in every way. Based on the proven CyprusXT core, this workstation card boasts the most powerful engine currently on the planet. $1360 may seem like too much coinage, but considering the benefits and performance weighed against the cost? It's a bargain. Thank you, Newegg, for having such an amazing product for purchase. I will be buying this as soon as my finances allow and I will most likely purchase it right here, on Newegg, as their service and support have, thus far, been unmatched.
