3 out of 5 eggsFast card but......

Pros: Very fast autocad and 3ds max rendering and regens

Cons: Nothing but problems when using wireframes in 3ds max 2013. The line segments flash red and off constantly. I tried every driver available.. no joy. I even replaced the v7800 with another users v7900.. no joy. Removed the card and replaced with a quadro 2000. The quadro worked fine. This card is great as long as you do not want to use it with 3ds max.

2 out of 5 eggsToo hot!!!

Pros: Great graphics...when it works, which is too seldom

Cons: This is my third card since Feb 2011. The other two burned out from basic 3-d rendering graphics. I have 7 fans on a VERY cool tower with plenty of room for heat exchange. Bad design, no excuses.

Other Thoughts: Company took 2 weeks to respond to email, online help not working, looks like another bankruptcy on the way...

5 out of 5 eggsATI FirePro V7800 2GB 256-bit GDDR5

Pros: Great graphic card, runs cool and silent, runs as good as it looks on my Photo Shop CS5.5 Production premium and my other Digital Creation Contains (DCC).

Cons: For some how ATI Firepro driver is not friendly with antivirus software
when rendering a critical Video or DCC. I have to uninstall antivirus from my system for a critical rendering such as with lots of special effects and multi videos background.

Other Thoughts: This Graphic card is specially designed for 3d applications and DCC but, it does work on other application as well as games too.

3 out of 5 eggsgames yes, CAD maybe, C3D OK, Navis no

Pros: The card has a really nice cover and everyone in the office was impressed; it looked like it would work really good.

Cons: It did not work as good as it looked but neither did any of the other cards recently tested. In an Deneb C3 x4 3.6Ghz with a Revo drive in the Civil 3D environment a Geforce 6600 512MB card worked equivalently, maybe even a touch better than the v7800 - particularly for the $11 price. In Navisworks the v7800 was unable to render the visualization.

Other Thoughts: Otherwise nice card, Doom and MS flight simulator ran really, really good - 60fps.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: I run SolidWorks 2010 and with this card and it has no problems running any assembly or model with the graphical level on high detail. This card has tons of power and memory to handle anything I throw at it so far, for the money I would recommend this card for pro graphics. This card also runs a lot cooler then most of my quadro cards that I have owned.

Cons: Not doing my work for me.

Other Thoughts: This card is long, 12 inches, I have it in a mid size case and it fits but barely.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage.....simply garbage product

Pros: Great for dx11 games. Although I dont game much.

Cons: -Poor Maya 2011 Performance
-Horrible OpenGL performance in PS CS5
-Does not raise its clock speeds during usage
-worst video card ive ever used regrettably

Other Thoughts: I thought I would get a boost in performance from my old QuadroFX 3450. I was sorely mistaken. This card is just simply garbage in comparison to that card. I have the most lag ever in CS5 when OpenGL is enabled. Also Maya 2011 is a complete laughable situation. This card will simply run extremely poorly in Maya. DONT bother buying this card if you use Maya. I dont think ATI will admit that the drivers are cr@p. I also called AMD they said its Autodesks fault. Autodesk says their drivers "should work". What a joke. Nvidia seems to have Autodesk in their pocket and AMD cant do anything to help it. I wont buy another ATI card after this and will try to get rid of this card as soon as I can to get another QuadroFX card. Or revert to my old card sadly.

I am utterly disappointed in this purchase and with amd in general. I would go so far as to say that there is false advertising involved here. The performance is just not there and I dont know why. >:(

2 out of 5 eggsNot good for Maya 2011

Pros: Pack with 2GB of dedicated DDR5 Memory, runs very silently might work well with other 3D applications but Maya 2011.

Cons: View port in Maya 2011 wont work even after installing the latest drivers and performance plug ins, complete disappointment even with 2GB of memory it was berelly able to move my 3D models under Maya, i have to say don't get this card if you are on the market for a video card to improve performance when modeling 3d in Maya, i tested a consumer gaming card against it, and for my surprise the gaming card was faster. if you wand to see the performance test and my benchmarks go to YouTube under hckneoboom and type in ATI Fire pro V7800 vs consumer card.

Other Thoughts: i can't believe that a consumers gaming card is faster than a Professional video card under Maya 2011 what a disappointment.
i also call AMD for Help and they said it wast their drivers, and have me call Autodesk. witch then didn't help anyways. saying that because i own a student version of Maya they could help me found out how to set up the view port 2.0 in Maya for rendering in real time. waaaa what a disappointment.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked great for 1 week

Pros: Handled my most graphics rich games. It never got hot or overheated.

Cons: One day I got home from work to find my computer turned off. When I turned it back on there was smoke and sparks coming from the graphics card. Hopefully the replacement will not have the same problem.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm very impressed

Pros: This is my best card ever. I am a Civil 3D user and this card is the best ever. I had been a Nvidia only for Acad and now I have found a excellent card. Fast, does everything better. I also do Video rendering and this card is scary fast. Low noise and rock solid performance in all categories.

Cons: When installing it wasn't smooth. Called tech support and they thought the card was DOA, so got another sent in replacement overnite (thanks Newegg) turns out that the tech support was flawed and that the first card was fine. The instructions for loading drivers isn't friendly. I had to go to Device Manager and it only first saw that it was a VGA card not an ATI. Second tech support guy simply told me to load the drivers manually from a local location of my driver download. After a reboot I could use the CD and install the Catalyst software and from there it was rock and roll time. I wish it had been able to do that from the get go, but it didn't recognize the card. I have Win 7 64.

Other Thoughts: I love this card
