4 out of 5 eggsUpdate to Purchase

Pros: Still an excellent multi-monitor card especially for the price. I run it along side NVidia cards with no issues for a total of 6 monitors. I am able to develop all the GPU type code even with this card though its lighter on computation. Displays are responsive even for HD video.

Cons: Having had this card for a year, I have ran 4 full monitors. As people have mentioned the monitors need to be same brand/type. There is a caveat to this. The card comes with Passive Display Port to DVI cables. For about $25 bucks you can get active cables that will allow you to use different brands of monitors with the card. I had one of my monitors fail and to replace it this was how I solved the problem. I read the solution from the ATI message boards and also had first hand experience with another ATI card. Most of their DP cards to use more then two monitors require Active DP -> DVI cables.

Other Thoughts: Overall this card has been stable and long lasting. I am heading into my third year and it has been running 90% of the time. It has even handled GPU processing type applications when not busy displaying data. Strong card. Only take a Egg off because it didn't include the low riser plate even though it says its low height card.

4 out of 5 eggsGREAT CARD - Low Profile Misleading

Pros: Wonderful card, runs my 4 HDMI monitors flawlessly using Mini-DP to HDMI cable. To my surprise it even ran dissimilar monitors (3 Acer 23" and a LG 55" HDTV) all at the same time and even at different resolutions which to my understanding is not supported by ATI nor with Windows 7. Later I also purchased an ATI 2260 to add an additional 5th and sixth monitor without problem. Everything was plug and play.

Great for budget financial trading systems.

Cons: Low profile back-plate not provided and none are available. Slow, definitely not a gaming screamer.

Other Thoughts: I needed a low profile card and even though the electronics were the back-plate wasn't and none were provided. What gives? I even called ATI and they had no solution.

Ultimately I had to remove the back-plate and cut it with a Dremel tool to fashion it to the right height. It is ridiculous that a low profile back-plate isn't provided! Especially when advertised as such!!!

One egg off for ATI's stupidity... I would give even more eggs off for this lack of foresight except that I otherwise love this card.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Low Profile

Pros: Can't say.

Cons: This is definitely not a low profile video card. The card itself yes; the clamp no. Consequently can't fit it into my small form factor system and had to RMA it.

3 out of 5 eggsBlinking Monitor w/3 Dell U2711s connected

Pros: Card did what was advertised - came with 4- Minidisplay port to DVI. DVI was solid for the 3-4 days until I ordered new minidisplay port to Display port for my 3xDell U2711 monitors. DVI can't display above 1920x1200 which was new to me. Display port cables will allow the 27" monsters to go up to 2560 x 1440.

Cons: I'm getting an occasional blink where one of the monitors goes black and then comes back in 2-3 secs. I've moved the cables around and it follows the connection in the card. Now I'm too late for an RMA. Tried lower resolution to see if it was driving the card too hard for these hi-res 27" LCDs - but it still blanks out.

Other Thoughts: I didn't even install the accompanied CD - just went straight to AMD's site for the driver - but it was way too difficult to find. AMD's description doesn't match exactly to what the card's name is. Now I'm stuck wondering if I want to hassle with AMD in getting this replaced since I'm 36 days out of purchasing it or just put up with it. This is just used in an office setting with email/browser/spreadsheets. Definitely wouldn't put up with this if it was for a gaming rig. Installed in a Dell Precision Workstation T6400 along with 16GB of RAM and new Samsung 830 512GB SSD.

3 out of 5 eggs4 monitors misleading

Pros: Passive cooling, low profile, 4 monitors (in theory)

Cons: 2 Monitors via DVI, 4 Via Display Port. Doesn't include mDp to DP connectors.

Other Thoughts: The 4 monitor tag is misleading even after studying the restrictions on AMD's website.

You flat out cannot run 4 monitors on this unless they are using display port connections, which it doesn't come with (figure that one out).

The card comes with 4 display port to DVI connections. It says that identical monitors can be run as pairs. It says this on the box, the manual, and on AMD's website. However, it is incorrect or just not supported well enough to get it to actually work.

I have 4 identical monitors and no matter how much fiddling, I could not get output to more than 2 monitors. Do some research on discussion forums, and you will see multiple examples of the same, identical monitors but cannot support more than 2 via DVI.

Bottom line. If you have DP connections on all your monitors, and you have 4 mDP to DP cables, this will be a great card. Otherwise, if you want true 4 monitor support go with the 2450, which has much bulkier cables to connect to the card.

1 out of 5 eggsStill cannot use it..

Pros: Not sure have not be able to use it..

Cons: I bought this card for a cliet with XP.. then I found out that It would not work with XP. I replaced and decieded to put into one of my Win 7 systems.

Problem is that when I stated to put into the win 7 systems (DQ57TM motherboard + i5) it would not boot. No POST no nothing. Called ATI, they replaced.. replacement card.. it started to POST but now hand.. not sure what to use it for.. seem to be picky on which motherboards it will work with.. Also beware that each "pair" of monitors have to be identical..

Other Thoughts: Looks like it is not read for prime time.. maybe for specific systems, but did not like mine

5 out of 5 eggsFirepro 2460

Pros: Did what it was intended to do, plus it is playing nicely with two other cards that are Gigabute ATI Radeon HD 5450 cards. I am driving 4 Acer S231HL monitors with the Firepro and 2 more with the Gigabyte cards plus a Dell u3011. I was really surprised that everything worked together. I may eventually just use two Firepros to keep things simple.

Cons: The dongles that come with the card will only support up to 1920x1200 since the are DVI. Per the specs, you must get purchase separately a MiniDP to DP adapter to get to the 2560x1600. Check their web site specs, I didn't see it on the Newegg specs.

5 out of 5 eggsUse old drivers if you have problems.

Pros: Cheap and silent 4x! Perfect solution for a gambler (trader) or any other power non-gamer.

Cons: Drivers on Vista 64.

I installed the latest drivers (as of 11-23-11) without even opening the installation disk. The big HP ZR2740w could not go above 720p resolution even though the card recognized the monitor and displayed all supported resolutions properly.

After removing the new drivers and installing the ones that came with the card, FirePro came to life sending 2560x1440 glory over DP.

I'll just blame Vista for the incident and give this card 5 stars.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for the Price

Pros: Can display on 4 seperate monitors simulataneously. Decent Windows 7 scores but I do not game so that is not an issue. Minimal power supply requirements. Awesome performance and no lag when running (4) 21in 1600x1200 res. Samsung LCD screens. Includes 4 MDP to DVI-D adapter and doesn't require expensive active adapters.

Cons: I guess the only complaint would be price depending on what you are expecting to spend but the adapters that are included made the card worth while in my book.

Other Thoughts: Installed into Dell and installed Windows 7 64-bit drivers and was up and running with 4 monitors in about an 30 minutes.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card

Pros: With Windows 7, drives all four monitors as advertised. For being a low wattage card it has no lag on Aero. The drivers from ATI really give a lot of options for configuration. Installation was a breeze.

Cons: I only gave four bubbles because the card will lag if your kids try to play any games. It will do it, but they have to turn the graphics and resolutions down.

Other Thoughts: I develop CUDA/HPC applications and though I have NVIDIA cards in my machine they are meant to be used for computation. If you are mixing ATI and NVIDIA cards I did find that the ATI drivers did allow managing the displays of my GTX cards too (with their NVIDIA drivers installed of course).
