4 out of 5 eggsGood for casual Gaming, better for CAD

Pros: It's been a while since I have used this card since I have upgraded to a GTX 650 then a GTX 960 just recently.

Keep in mind this is a workstation GPU, not made for gaming. For only $60 more you could get yourself a GTX 960, so keep that in mind.

This is a low end CAD card, best for low poly models and low resolution textures. I would recommend this only if you're an entry level CAD user who's on a budget. If you're planning on making high detailed models, save your money and don't cheap out.

Remember, this is not for gaming. My Dad had made that mistake before in which he bought this for me thinking it was good for Gaming when it was not.

(I apologize for not being very helpful. I haven't used this card in almost 2 years, so my memory of it was vague)

Cons: For the most part, the only CON i could think of is that it runs with only 1GB of vRAM, this card could really benefit from 2GB.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware the cheap fan

Pros: When it works it's great

Cons: Cooling

Other Thoughts: Has a cheap cooling fan that goes after about a year. IT looks like a less than dollar part. When it stops working the card is toast.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Card, Bad Fan

Pros: Generally, this is a good workstation card for mid-range systems.

Cons: Fan becomes loud over time. In my setup, the fan hasn't become unbearably loud but I've noticed a significant increase in noise.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Professional Grade Card

Pros: This card will run two-three monitors just fine. This card is currently mainly used for SolidWorks 2012-2014, and a little gaming. I have done some 2D AutoCad work, and Draftsight work on it. Been fine.

Cons: The Active display port adapter is actually a Passive adapter. not a big deal, but it is listed wrong.

Other Thoughts: INSTALL the drivers on the CD or from SolidWorks website, and not the Win 7 drivers!!!

I had a little trouble getting the second monitor to work. I ended up with a display port to HDMI adapter and I am good-to-go. I assume this was a monitor conflict, and not the card.

2 out of 5 eggsFan Became Loud

Pros: It hasn't died. 3 monitor support that I'm using.

Cons: Bought the card in April 2013. It's July 2014 and the fan has become defectively loud today. Hoping AMD replaces this thing under the warranty.

4 out of 5 eggsProduct Description is wrong

Pros: A good entry CAD card for it's price. The 3 monitor support is a great bonus.

Cons: The product description says this comes with an active DisplayPort to DVI adapter. It in fact comes with a passive adapter. If you want to run 3 DVI monitors, you must buy an active adapter

Other Thoughts: I do not fault Newegg with the faulty product description as the datasheet from AMD also claims it comes with an active adapter, but the product description on the AMD website and the product box both say it's a passive adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Quiet Workstation grade graphics that is reasonably priced

Cons: .

Other Thoughts: Windows Experience Index for Graphics went from 6.7 with on board graphics to 7.1 with this card.
From what I heard the issues with the loud fans was a known problem from a while back that has since been fixed with cards being manufactured & sold at this time.
Installed in a new HP Z230 workstation.

5 out of 5 eggsMulti-monitors

Pros: Daisy-chained three monitors off of one of the available displayports, and this is a set-up that I just love! Since the video card has two displayports, I could, at least in theory, go up to 6 or 8 monitors (?).

Cons: Couldn't make it work with Ubuntu (not tried long, though), some minor problems with Debian-stable (could be my monitors, maybe?), but works perfectly with Linux Mint (Debian edition). Do some research before buying if using Linux.

Other Thoughts: Not using it for gaming or hi-def video, so I don't know about these. This is a workstation card, though.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performance, way too loud

Pros: - Outstanding performance in SolidWorks 2012

- No stuttering, no slowdowns, extremely good performance for the price, turned AA to max from the control panel and absolutely no slowdowns

- Runs a 1900x1080 and 1650x1200 monitor at the same time
- Runs at good temps, under 50C, with such a small fan and HS

Cons: -Jet engine fan noise. I have 5 other fans in the case, and if I unplug all of them it barely makes any difference since combined they make maybe 20% of the noise the V4900 makes.

-Don't think I can add an aftemarket cooler, the vsssjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj in my brain is unbearable.

- Installation was a pain in the ..., couldn't get my higher resolution monitor to display its proper resolution because I had installed my lower resolution monitor first, almost went out and wasted cash on a display port to DVI connector, because I thought my DVI to HDMI connector was the fault while connecting it from its DVI port. Try all combinations while installing before you buy new cables, it's ridiculous.

Other Thoughts: You won't regret your purchase from a performance standpoint, don't waste cash on Quadro 600 it's garbage, AMD dominates in the professional market, Nvidia are bloodsuckers, just watch benchmarks online.
