2 out of 5 eggsFan Became Loud

Pros: It hasn't died. 3 monitor support that I'm using.

Cons: Bought the card in April 2013. It's July 2014 and the fan has become defectively loud today. Hoping AMD replaces this thing under the warranty.

4 out of 5 eggsProduct Description is wrong

Pros: A good entry CAD card for it's price. The 3 monitor support is a great bonus.

Cons: The product description says this comes with an active DisplayPort to DVI adapter. It in fact comes with a passive adapter. If you want to run 3 DVI monitors, you must buy an active adapter

Other Thoughts: I do not fault Newegg with the faulty product description as the datasheet from AMD also claims it comes with an active adapter, but the product description on the AMD website and the product box both say it's a passive adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Quiet Workstation grade graphics that is reasonably priced

Cons: .

Other Thoughts: Windows Experience Index for Graphics went from 6.7 with on board graphics to 7.1 with this card.
From what I heard the issues with the loud fans was a known problem from a while back that has since been fixed with cards being manufactured & sold at this time.
Installed in a new HP Z230 workstation.

5 out of 5 eggsMulti-monitors

Pros: Daisy-chained three monitors off of one of the available displayports, and this is a set-up that I just love! Since the video card has two displayports, I could, at least in theory, go up to 6 or 8 monitors (?).

Cons: Couldn't make it work with Ubuntu (not tried long, though), some minor problems with Debian-stable (could be my monitors, maybe?), but works perfectly with Linux Mint (Debian edition). Do some research before buying if using Linux.

Other Thoughts: Not using it for gaming or hi-def video, so I don't know about these. This is a workstation card, though.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat performance, way too loud

Pros: - Outstanding performance in SolidWorks 2012

- No stuttering, no slowdowns, extremely good performance for the price, turned AA to max from the control panel and absolutely no slowdowns

- Runs a 1900x1080 and 1650x1200 monitor at the same time
- Runs at good temps, under 50C, with such a small fan and HS

Cons: -Jet engine fan noise. I have 5 other fans in the case, and if I unplug all of them it barely makes any difference since combined they make maybe 20% of the noise the V4900 makes.

-Don't think I can add an aftemarket cooler, the vsssjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj in my brain is unbearable.

- Installation was a pain in the ..., couldn't get my higher resolution monitor to display its proper resolution because I had installed my lower resolution monitor first, almost went out and wasted cash on a display port to DVI connector, because I thought my DVI to HDMI connector was the fault while connecting it from its DVI port. Try all combinations while installing before you buy new cables, it's ridiculous.

Other Thoughts: You won't regret your purchase from a performance standpoint, don't waste cash on Quadro 600 it's garbage, AMD dominates in the professional market, Nvidia are bloodsuckers, just watch benchmarks online.

5 out of 5 eggsGood entry level workstation card

Pros: Price point

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: For what this card is, it's great. I'm not doing much rendering or animation so doing basic CAD work is smooth sailing.

5 out of 5 eggsFeature packed and Affordable

Pros: Lower profile, quit, low power. Runs my business workstation cad package (Acad Architecture, Revit) with a breeze. Affordable for what you get.

Cons: DP adaptor did not work out of box. DP adaptors hard to find except on Newegg.

4 out of 5 eggsFan noise seems to go away

Pros: Great in CAD works, and Photoshop CS5
Great display.
Fan noise after a day quite acceptable, while unbearable for the first 10 hours of installation.

Cons: Fan noise is very acceptable after running continuously for 24 hours now. I will monitor this for a few days before submitting a final report

Other Thoughts: AMD should build this fan to a higher standard even if the price would increase for an extra 20$

1 out of 5 eggsFan noise out of this world

Pros: I don't care at this moment.......

Cons: FAN NOISE UNBEARABLE
FAN NOISE UNBEARABLE
FAN NOISE UNBEARABLE
I owned many firegl such as my last V7700 and none of them were a noise nightmare. NO actually no video cards in my 40 years of experience were near approaching this new card.
I had for a month an Nvidia GT610 at 50$ that was totally silent having no fan at all.

5 out of 5 eggsMedical Imaging 2D/3D Software

Pros: Supports Dual 2560x1600 4.1MP Monitors and additional 1600x900 monitor without any glitches or corruption.

10-bit LUT (10xRed, 10xGreen, 10xBlue = 30-bit) as opposed to most 8-bit cards out there.

AMD FirePro Control Panel has ability to turn 10-bit on/off under the FirePro Settings.

Great 3-monitor card for entry level workstations and medical imaging setups.

PerfectLum Calibration Software communicates with these cards with 10-bit LUT's without any glitches, and these cards properly load the ICC Profiles every time.

Cons: Seems like the prices should be coming down on products like these... But it's still a rock-solid investment.

Other Thoughts: For Gamers Who Stumbled Here by Accident:
Really?? Are you serious?? This card, for gaming??? Someone's parents gave them too much bourbon as a child to stop them from crying.

OpenGL - shading/rendering for professional software.
DirectX - gaming, gaming, gaming.

This card clearly supports DirectX, like any standard graphics card, but it's OpenGL is much superior, which is why it's "professional".

For People Who Aren't a Drain on the Economy:
As others have mentioned, these cards are great for entry level CAD/CAM and has important features for high resolution wide gamut displays and multiple monitor support, important in the healthcare community.
