5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for the buck

Pros: With the games that came with, the amazing performance, and the low price that this is at I think this is the best bang for your buck for 2012-2013. It overclocks well and stays cool with good ventilation. The fans clean themselves automatically.

Cons: nothing yet

Pros: Cool, powerful, quite, great looking,

Cons: No support bar on the pcb from the I/O panel but this is nothing that the pci-e wires a cant fix when put at a angle to help support the card.

Other Thoughts: This card is very powerful and quite, mine over cocked to 1100 core 1500 memory @ 1.15 vddc. Asic is at 78%

5 out of 5 eggsIt's Big!

Pros: Looks Good, but beware this thing is Huge! I had to get the dremel tool out and mod the case to get the thing in, I even had to have a co-worker to help to let me know if it was lined up so I could punch it down. I was able to get the HD cage just between the PCB and the Cooler. Card Destroys every card I have had in the past. Running Heaven with great framerates and temps look good.

Cons: Darn near goes from the front to the back of the case, like a Python!

Other Thoughts: Buy it!

1 out of 5 eggsUnder powered

Pros: gave me little bit of boost.
not too hot.

Cons: Didn't perform like high end graphic card.

My pc spec intel i7 2.67gh 8gb memory mother board Intel X58 PSU antex high 900w

Crysis 3 1920x1080 high w/o msaa around 30fps
Bioshock infi 1920x1080 ultra fps were unstable not comfortable playing.
Farcry 3 1920x1080 very high w/o msaa around 60-30fps
hitman absolution benchmark all maxed out average 25 fps
battlefield 3 all maxed out around 40fps

over clocking only gave few extra fps
I'm really disappointed. I saw the benchmark on internet before i buy, I really attracted to it. Since my old card hd 6870 were made by sapphire I thought i could trust them.

Other Thoughts: I only get around half of refund since two bonus game cost $120.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

This HD7950 is consider the high end spectrum of the HD7900 series, but if this couldn't satisfy your gaming needs, maybe you can move one level higher to the HD7970 series card.

5 out of 5 eggsFire and Forget

Pros: Fast!

Cons: Very long.

Other Thoughts: The card is fast! Unfortunately the card is also very long. Until I do a upgrade to the rest of my computer, my drives are sitting precariously since I had to remove my HD cage in order to accommodate the card in my current case.

2 out of 5 eggsWas okay.. until it died.

Pros: Great card whilst it worked. Never had temperature issues or anything of the sort.

Cons: It just up and died out of nowhere after owning it for two months. I never had the card overclocked, but actually underclocked.

Other Thoughts: This will be the last time I purchase a Sapphire GPU.

And at least it died whilst I played CounterStrike 1.6

Manufacturer Response:

Dear User,

Sorry to hear about your card dying out on you, please contact RMA@althonmicro.com they will help you take care of your request for RMA replacement service.

4 out of 5 eggsShady as hell

Pros: Works out of the box, had to repaste the GPUs to handle temperature on load.

Overall great card, good bang for the buck... Even without the rebates.

Cons: GPUs are not consistent, need better QA.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to register your card on the site for the warranty and keep a record of the purchase in case... In case anything goes wrong, companies like this have been known to leave you in the dirt if you can't prove that the purchase is from them even with their name branded all over the hardware.

I bought 6 of these cards and low-behold they limit you to 1 rebate per household, they of course tell me this after I make the purchase so great, I'm out $100 already.

I attempt to contact the company that the rebate goes through, Althon to process the rebate and they direct me to a purposely poorly designed website to frustrate the user to no end combined with poorly worded instructions.

When choosing payment options, they offer you either basic 8-10 week mail-in check, or the 'fancy' American Express pre-paid card with a ridiculous activation and service fee upon usage, I try to opt for the check, but the website isn't having it and keeps defaulting me to the AX card.

I submit my rebate online, and instead of taking me to a form to print out, I'm taken back to the home page and all of my information is lost. I repeat this process 8 times until I'm so annoyed at this point that I say forget it, you stole $100 from me, keep the other $20. It makes little difference to me at this point.

Needless to say, this will be the last time I EVER buy an item with a rebate on Newegg. I've just had endless horrible experiences with the vendors on this site.... You've all been warned... The price you pay will be the price pre-rebate unless you're willing to go through hell and back and probably make a series of hour-long phone calls waiting on hold to get your measly $20.

4 out of 5 eggsBad out of the box

Pros: This thing should have been a really great card. When it's not spazzing out and giving me artifacts all over the place it seems to handle my games well. In the 30secs before it overheats I get around 400MH/s out of it.

Cons: It was bad right out of the box. I didn't even get a chance to OC. It overheats very quickly. I'm RMA'ing it and hoping for better luck next time.

Other Thoughts: What's the point of buying off Newegg when it costs 15$ to ship the thing back in when it's bad?
