5 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: -It's awesome!! the 7970 screams through games.
-The twin coolers keep the card cooler than most other 7970 coolers out there.
-Dual bios one 950mhz and another 1000mhz
-Eyefinity is awesome.
-Unlocked Voltages

Cons: Very difficult card to overclock. I must have just gotten a figgity one because I can't get stable overclock with this bugger. One second it will work smoothly. Another day I'll turn it on and my previous overclock won't work. I can only get it to about 1100mhz before I run into problems. It's so weird because the 7970 should not be this stupid to overclock.

Also, I've been having trouble with the card kicking into "high performance mode." However, I have easily been able to fix this with a simple system reboot.

Other Thoughts: Sometimes overclocking isn't a buying point for some people. This is why I didn't take any eggs off. If you aren't planning to do a overclock of over 100mhz (like I was planning on doing) this card is super awesome!! Although every card is different and you may get lucky! Any way you slice it you will not regret buying this card. Anyway, the stock settings on this card are awesome and you should just buy it already

5 out of 5 eggsi was mistaken

Pros: i made a 2 egg review a few days ago before i took out this graphics card to return it. after i took it out and re-installed the old card, i still had BSODs, and as it turns out, my new processor was the culprit.

i now have this card installed again with my old processor and it is running great! no crashes, games running great! i wish i could retract my previous review.

Cons: its hard to pinpoint bsods when upgrading to so many new parts.

Other Thoughts: this card is great and working fine. just ignore a previous review by me, "colin"

2 out of 5 eggsdisappointed

Pros: the card was fast! it ran BF3 on ultra settings getting anywhere from 60-80 FPS, depending on what happend in the game. ran cool and quiet too.

Cons: i've had 2 BSOD's per day since the day i put the card in my computer. not sure if amd is having a hard time with these new 7000 series cards, if sapphire did something wrong, or the drivers just suck. i posted about this issue on sevenforums.com but havent had any helpful responses. i just had another 2 BSOD's today and i got so fed up with it, i'm about to take the card out right now for RMA. hopefully the new one will work. if it doesnt, i will probably buy an nvidia card.

Other Thoughts: this card is great if it works. like i said, i dont know if its the card, or the drivers. i did a clean install of the graphics drivers for this card and still have blue screens and random crashes.

i give it 2 eggs instead of 1 because the gaming i have been able to do with this card has been fantastic!

1 out of 5 eggsBe wary of Sapphire support

Pros: The card is great when I had it running in my machine and it ran all the games I threw at just fine while staying cool.

Cons: The first card I received had terrible coil whine. I ended up RMA'ing it with sapphire support which went smoothly the first time, but I had to pay for shipping which wasn't a big deal. The card I received after the RMA process had more problems than the first card I had originally bought. The fans are extremely loud, I can sit in the living room 30ft away from my computer while it is running idle and they are running full blast regardless of what task I am or am not doing and still hear them. The card has crashed twice in less than a week that I've had it since the RMA process and each time the card recovered but required a full reset of my computer because the graphics for nothing would work anymore. I had white screens galore even after restarting individual programs. Sapphire support was terrible on my second experience dealing with them. They tried to point the finger at me several times through e-mails even though the card fans have been running all out since I received it as well crashing a few times within a week. They finally agreed to RMA the card for more testing and wanted me to pay shipping for a bad card they sent me.

Other Thoughts: Two bad cards in a row and hoping my third is better. I might add another egg or two later if the card runs like it is supposed to without issue but I'll never buy another Sapphire product again after having to deal with their terrible support and I wasn't able to find a phone number to reach them.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: Great card, exceeds performance expectations... Be aware that card requires 2x8pin connectors to power it.

Cons: Mine has an hdmi audio output problem... Cuts in and out until i push the card to performance mode, then it performs as advertised (even when not in performance mode). Sapphire offered to repair/replace, too lazy to send in for such a small issue... -1 egg for QA though.

Other Thoughts: Check your box for game codes.

1 out of 5 eggsDoA

Pros: The fans turned on, and were quiet at idle.
Game bundle is now 4 games, so whatever card I decide on now I will also get Tomb Raider!

Cons: A $420 paper weight.

Compared to my 4890 the card looked/felt cheap: cheap plastic for fans/shrouds, didn't feel solid, and the decals on the card were noticeably crooked
.
Not recognized in Windows when not primary card.
3 PCs would not post when used as primary card.

Before this card I ordered an XFX 7950 Double-D; which I returned because the stock cooler was terribly loud and it was voltage locked. Even though it didn't perform up to my expectations, it was extremely sexy looking and physically felt rock solid. Sapphire you should take some notes in these departments.

Other Thoughts: The card I received has 8/8-pin PCI-E connectors.

Pictures shown here indicate 6 & 8-pin PCI-E connectors on the card.

Sapphire's site does not show a picture of the PCI-E connectors, BUT if you read the info for this card under Accessory it lists a 8-to-4 pin & a 8-to-6 pin adapter. I am making an assumption from this information that the card in fact is supposed to be 6/8-pin.

The box was sealed on both ends when I received it, and nothing appears to have been tampered with. The serial number/SKU/Part Number/Description on the box match that of the card. I can't figure out why this card that I received is 8/8-pin.

In case you're wondering SapphireTech the serial# is A131500027346.

The card has been RMA'd with this number: 55466560

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate Review

Pros: Too awesome to list all features.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I'm running Skyrim on ultra with 48 graphic and texture mods(with about thirty other mods) and still at 60fps with a few dips around 52fps. Keep in mind I only have a duel core i3 3220. Will be updating to a i5 or for my next upgrade.
