3 out of 5 eggsNot bad, 200W Power hog

Pros: Runs most new games on high without issue.

Cons: Consumes a full 200 watts with 100% GPU utilization. My system, pulls 120 watts at the wall when idle. When I run this GPU 100% my system pulls a full 320 watts! (Note: CPU was still near idle for this test.)

Other Thoughts: The box says you need a 500W power supply to run this, but I think a 600W supply is a better idea. My 600W thermaltake supply dips its 12v output to nearly 11.5v when this card is at 100%.

5 out of 5 eggsRebadged 5870

Pros: I bought 10 of these for bitcoin mining. These are rebadged 5870s, every single one of them. They have 1600 stream processors and Cypress compute units. Not Barts like an actual 6870 would have. I run them at 960mhz core and underclocked memory at 160mhz. I'm getting a solid 420Mh/s with all of these and they are running around 60.0C open air.
Also, Catalyst 13.4 will show these as 5800 Series.

Cons: Not a 6870 if that's really what you wanted.

5 out of 5 eggs6870.....not 5870

Pros: Will play any game you toss at it.
Mine overclocked to 1Ghz Gpu no problem, took the memory to 1150Mhz without a hiccup.
Relatively quiet. (Can't hear it over my front panel case fan and radiator fan.)

Cons: Cooling design pushes warm/hot air from heatink into computer case. (I have fans in my computer, so not a probblem.)
This gpu will play any game you toss at it, but for some newer titles/advanced games, you will have to turn the settings down for playable frame rates. (Metro 2033, BF3 etc)
Games like Diablo 3, Resident Evil 6 (yeh..those 2. >_< )
Will play on this card maxxed settings no problem.

Be sure to get latest drivers from AMD, I am sure by the time you receive this card, the cd from 2 years ago inside will be well outdated.

Other than that? I have no problems with this card.

Other Thoughts: Why is everyone saying this is showing up as a 5870 is beyond me..mine shows up on gpuid as a 6870, in windows as Radeon 6700 series..

In one earlier release of gpuid it stated I was running this card on a X4 pci-e maybe that is what is at fault.
(It was gpuid and not my computer, was validated)

My final words on this gpu, If you are budget minded, and can't cough up the cash for a 7870, or a geforce 660 or higher? this will do it for you if you are looking to game.
If you are looking to crush 3dmarks? Might want to look elsewhere.
you'll see about 13-14k in 3dmark 06 and about 4k in 3dmark11 performance.
As stated, this card will play your games. but don't expect to do anything insane.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent 5870 in 6870's clothing

Pros: Playing Crysis 3 on it and it runs great. Great performance in World of Warcraft though that's not saying much based on how old that game is. GPU-Z shows the card as the 5800 series confirming what another reviewer has said. I consider that a good thing though since this card mines bitcoins like a beast unlike a regular 6870. 390 Mhash/s on stock settings and with moderate OC getting 420 Mhash/s. Cheaper than 5870s found used.

Cons: Doesn't come with the free games that the more expensive cards come with *cough* Crysis 3 *cough*. Bought Crysis 3 myself.

Other Thoughts: Be wary if you want to crossfire this card. The heatsink extends far enough off the card that a nonflexible crossfire connector won't work. You'll need a flexible crossfire connector to bend around the heatsink.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME card!

Pros: awesome card, just exactly what i was looking for, something that would play newer games at 1080p with good graphics..i got better then i expected, running Bioshock: Infinite DX11 ULTRA with 55FPS high and 29FPS low, running Crysis 3 all High and was getting a solid 25-35fps until extreme detail is going on on 1080p...and that was with 1x FSAA and 16x AF, i turned these off, and wow, i got a solid 35-45 FPS..tomb raider 1080p ultra across the board with 60+ FPS always...COD: BO2 1080p 60+ FPS...dont know about the other reviews, but i think i got an awesome deal

Cons: this specific card did not come with 2 dvi or vga ports, it came with one dvi, one hdmi, and one display port, i work at a web design company and LUCKILY one of the guys in the office had previously purchased a display port adapter to VGA which is fine for dual monitors at work, i use DVI and HDMI at home..and fedex shipping is HORRIBLE as always, but this is not a con about the product or neweggs eggcellent service.

Other Thoughts: this card IS a 6870, my AIDA64 also registers the core of this card as a 5870 Cypress..which if this WERE true, the core would def. go higher than the LOCKED 650mhz, it would go up much higher.
ALSO the 5870 got about 5-10FPS MORE than the 6870 both cards stock..i did press the OC to 650 and the ram up to 1100MHZ, but the ram seems to go much MUCH higher, but according to reviews, you get no gain from stock to OC, but i disagree, at 1080p i saw a solid 5-10FPS OC gain over stock..maybe ive just gotten solid parts in my build, they also say the Phenom II x 6 1045T wont clock high, but mine sits a 3.78ghz solid stable for 3 months now, on an MSI 970 which they say is horrible..but i have a solid build that will compete with any in its class

1 out of 5 eggsNope

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Constant BSOD no matter what. Going to RMA asap. First time I've had a sapphire card do this and this is like my 6th or 7th card from them.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: -Cheap

Cons: Everything else. I got BSOD'd constantly. I can't run games, I can't mine cryptocurrencies. I can't do anything. Many times different drivers etc, none of them matter. I'm gonna RMA this piece of **** ASAP.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this. Spend a bit more money and get something better. I should have figured that something like this would suck ***. This is my first sapphire card ever that has done this and I've been using sapphire for a lone time. Very disappointed.

1 out of 5 eggsGood, but not right.

Pros: It's fast, cheap, and good-looking.

Cons: It's apparently not a 6870, but a 5870.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card to put in Crossfire with a 6870 I bought a year back. However, when I hooked it up, everything and its programmer said that it is a 5870. That was rather jarring, seeing as I bought this expecting an easy crossfire job. Would not recommend for putting in crossfire with another 6870.
