Transform your gameplay with the SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 6970 graphics card. This card is based on cutting-edge architecture and features 1536 stream processors and 96 texture processing units. Clock speeds of 880MHz for the core and 1375Mhz (5.5Gb/sec effective) for the 2GB of GDDR5 memory produce incredible graphics and reality-redefining environment interaction in your favorite DirectX 11 game titles.

This new design has two 90mm fans with thin impellers that can move the same amount of air at 10% lower rotation speeds than conventional fans, keeping the noise level down, and their special dust repelling bearings contribute to high reliability. With the Dual BIOS set to the standard position, dual fans keep this model quiet and up to 25% cooler than the standard model even under full load conditions. With the BIOS switched to the performance setting, the core voltage of the GPU is raised to 1.2V, the fan speed is set to a high performance profile, and the powertune adjustment for overclocking is raised to 50%, maximizing performance of the card by increasing clock speeds either with AMD Overdrive or with SAPPHIRE TriXX up to a ceiling of 1500MHz core, 2000MHz memory.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Cheap, great card, plays anything I run at max specs.

Cons: Sometimes noticeable framerate drops during intense action scenes or while playing skyrim, but that's to be expected when you're running 15 visual rendering mods on a budget card

3 out of 5 eggsPoor support

Pros: Good specs

Cons: Never really performed as advertised. Paired up in crossfire...Low performance in BF3 and 4. Lags in anything above low settings. See Sapphire support ticket conversation.
SKU and serial # supplied on initial ticket form. Sequence starts at the bottom, newest on top.

Other Thoughts: 2013-11-26 [02:39]
Get me the sku# for both cards and i will check for you.
2013-11-25 [05:42]
I have supplied both sku#s to you. They are not the same sku, but they are the same chipset.
Is there bios update for either card?
2013-11-23 [02:54]
Thats what i imply, If the cards have the same sku# yes you can use the same bios on both cards.
2013-11-23 [02:52]
You're not answering the question. They ARE in crossfire. They ARE the same chipset.
Are there BIOS updates?
Can the same BIOS be installed in both cards? Is there a benefit from matched BIOS?
2013-11-16 [03:32]
Are they the same sku#? even if they have different bios they can still be in cross fire mode.
2013-11-16 [03:29]
Found sku of other board SKU#11187-00-40R.
Are there BIOS updates?
Can matching BIOS be used in both cards?
2013-11-15 [06:12]
What are the sku# on both cards? But as far as i know if both cards are the same chipset you can run them in cross fire mode, doesnt matter if they are different versions as long as they are the same chipset in CF mode it should be effective.
2013-11-15 [04:42]
I have 2 6970 cards (in crossfire) purchased at different times, have different bios versions. The other is v013.011.000.014.000000. Would like to have matched bios versions in both. Would this improve performance? Performance has never been that great considering the expense of purchasing 2 cards. Is there an update for either?

5 out of 5 eggsBitcoin miner

Pros: Mines at around 380mh/s. Use catalyst 12.6 drivers with Windows 7 64-bit for best results.

Cons: Haven't found any yet

5 out of 5 eggsQuite literally a beast!

Pros: Played everything I threw at it (Skyrim, BF3, GTA IV, and practically all of the Steam library) at well beyond 60 FPS. It's got the ability of an nVidia card sold at $300 for almost half the price ($169.99 when purchased), and is highly recommended for use in upper-mid range PCs. There is also an awesome amount of overclocking room in this card, and boosting cache and core clock 30+% didnt really push the card too hard or hot until past the 50% range. Some of my past cards have given my case a vibration from the fans, and this card is extremely stable and has no fault with build quality or rigidity.

Cons: Like the title suggests, this card is a beast. Its HUGE, and it had the side panel of the ATX mid tower bulging slightly when I got it installed. I had to remove my drive mounts and PSU to easily fit it into the slot. It also takes 2 power cables (1x6port and 1x8port), which isnt particularly a problem, but rather a personal gripe of mine. HD6970 is fairly heavy and it was a slight concern, but it mounts very sturdily. It also gets a little loud fan noise running intense applications, such as Crysis 3, which had a few hiccups among the relatively good 38 FPS I squeezed out on max with my second HD6970 rig. I never worried about it falling apart, but I would have loved an aluminum body shell rather than the fairly flimsy plastic one.
I run Ubuntu dual-boot w/ Win7, and on windows, the fan is quite with a low voltage idle during normal web-browsing, movie watching, typing, etc., but on Ubuntu, this thing is kicked up lound and it blows a TON of hot air right onto my side panel, making it hot to the touch, which my previous card (GeForce GT620), never did. Ubuntu has no obvious GPU voltage or other settings, so you will need to know terminal commands to override the defaults as far as i know.

Other Thoughts: An awesome card for moderate enthusiasts and hobby builders, but too much for grandma's Farmville.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns perfectly fine

Pros: Runs well, does what it needs to do, have a AMD Athlon X2 Regor 250-low powered because of lack of cache runs at stock 3 ghz. it overcomes the processor, getting 60 FPS on all high(plus extra settings) on Black ops 2. Runs TF2 on all extra at 120 FPS.- going to upgrade motherboard at one point for the FX 8350. (bought this at the sale)
So far so good!

Cons: none, does exactly what it needs to do

Other Thoughts: very comparable to the 7850

5 out of 5 eggsgreat for the price!!!

Pros: a big upgrade from my amd 6670 1g. it was my first GPU installation and it was fairly easy to install. it started up and ran good right away. the drivers were easy to install also plays outlast on very high, bf3 almost maxed out, and pretty much every game on very high but plan on buying another one to have better frame rate. I have 3 fans and runs around 38c in idle around 41 when browsing the web and 60 to 66C at max load while playin bf3, other games.

Rig:
MSI-970fxa MB
AMD-F130 (OC at 4.0 GHz)
8g ram

Cons: none I can think of

Other Thoughts: not really a con but it is a very big card about 10"L and almost did not fit because it takes up 2 PCI slots and some wires almost got in the way so make sure u have enough space

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Card, But Doesn't Display System Bios

Pros: Good performance, overclocks easily, runs cool.

Cons: Bad Egg! Not being able to see the system BIOS is unacceptable. I can enter the BIOS, just can't see it. I will see if Newegg will RMA. This is the first ATI card I've used. Previously NVIDIA, but I figured since it's and AMD system, why not an AMD card?

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Card for the Money

Pros: 2gb Memory, Fast Bus Speed, Over-Clockable card, Dual Bios, Quiet card, Still a great card, Great Cooling solution.

Cons: Fat Card.

Other Thoughts: Cooling solution is big but great and lots quieter than the first Gen Cards.. That being said this card can get in the way. I had to use the lower PCIex16 slot because of the
Size and of the cooler and my Sound Blaster Card on my Extreme9 2011 Board.. Its fat,
