2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs most games on max settings with 60+ fps.

Cons: This GPU is LOUD. Makes my computer sound like a jet engine.

This card crashes quite often on games that are more GPU intensive. About 1 crash per hour on those games. Quite annoying. Started crashing about 2 weeks after i bought.

Other Thoughts: AMD has great customization options for their cards. Although they may not be of best quality, they do have a decent bang for the buck.

1 out of 5 eggsRMA

Pros: Worked great when it worked. An improvement from my HD 7950

Cons: This Card broke after the first month of ownership. I tried to RMA the broken Card and they sent me another broken Card. The company is telling me to ship it back for another 20 dollars but if this second card works when they receive it. I will have to pay to have it shipped back. P.S. I have had this card for over 6 months It has not worked once so why are they trying to discourage me from sending this one back. Just food for thought.

Other Thoughts: This company is a wreck, I would never buy anything from them ever again.

5 out of 5 eggsNice upgrade...

Pros: Fast card, easy to install, works fine with my 730w PSU.
My PSU only had 2 6-pin connectors. I used a 6-pin to 8-pin converter, and haven't had any issues. Ran 3DMark in a loop problems.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from 2 HD6850s in crossfireX, so the performance gain was not very noticable in SWTOR. My 2 hd6850s only had 1GB of memory, so I couldn't run ESO in eyefinity at anything above medium graphics settings. With this problems, respecatble FPS on highest settings.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card, runs nicely. Happy with my new upgrade.

Pros: -Quiet
-Runs cool
-Never reached above 70degrees Celsius
-Nice improvement over my old XFX HD 6950
-Mantle support
-Runs watch_dogs on High no problem

Cons: None at the moment

Other Thoughts: Please use the Sapphire recommended drivers for this card, the recommended driver is 13.6

I made the mistake of installing straight to 14.6 Beta, this caused 2D/3D texture flickering. I then tried 14.4, only caused flickering in 2D ie Web Browsing.

13.10 to 13.6 drivers will work fine but I recommend 13.6

3 out of 5 eggsSaphire R9 280X VaporX

Pros: -Great Graphics performance.
-Cool temps.
-Great look.

Cons: -Incredibly loud coil whine when under load. V-sync did not improve sound, only changed pitch.

Other Thoughts: Card was in a Silent Fractal R4 case and coil whine was intolerably loud and high pitch, even with headphones on.

1 out of 5 eggsPunished for choosing newegg - RMA No Replace

Pros: It died in weeks there are no pros to that!

Cons: In under a couple weeks it was dead! Newegg wont replace they will only refund! That sucks .. i bought to SLI and i bought two! Now you cant even send another even tho you are selling 280x's on your site! A model that was cheaper than mine when i purchased is even available!

Your customer experience is terrible! Your chat service was completely useless and they were cold and not will to assist by sending the 280x's you are currently selling on your site now! Wow! unreal customer service! Punished for choosing newegg!

Other Thoughts: You guys arent business people you are robots who could care less for your customers experience! First time and last time customer here!!!

Manufacturer Response:

We are very sorry that you have had problems with your graphics card.

We do hope that Newegg are able to assist you with your return

5 out of 5 eggsgreat Card

Pros: -HDMI and Crossfire bridge included
-White LED
-No need for eyefinity adapter
-Cool stays below 50C for most games. BF4 can push it to 65-70C
-Nice design and backplate
-Vapor chamber
-BIOS switch

Cons: None really

Other Thoughts: I bought this on 10/21/13. Have had no problems so far. I have the original BIOS on mine so I have not experienced any throttling or any other problem in fact. I bought mine for a great price the first week it came out but the price jumped way up, kinda sad because I would have crossfired it. I will update after one year or if i have a problem. I love this card.

1 out of 5 eggsCrypto miners do NOT buy this card

Pros: good if you can keep it under 73C 24/7

Cons: The latest revision uses cheap Elpida vram, you will not be able to break 730kh/s with this card even with custom made memory timings.

Out of the box without a reprogrammed memory timing block expect 680kH/s on average at best, 700 if you got really lucky.

This is the absolute worst card to buy for cost efficiency out of any 280x on the market.

Other Thoughts: Would never buy another.

Manufacturer Response:

We are very sorry that you have had problems with your graphics card.

Please be aware that when flashing to a different BIOS, it can cause the card to perform incorrectly which would result in higher temperatures.
