3 out of 5 eggsI really want to love it...

Pros: -Beautiful Card
-Great brands
-Cool and quite

Cons: -Experiencing white flashes during some games (Drivers are up to date)
-Card doesn't contact the motherboard properly sometimes and I lose one of my rgb colors. (Had to plug it into a different pci slot than I preferred where it happens less) Previous cards never had this problem in the same motherboard.
-Slightly disappointed by performance

Other Thoughts: Wondering if I should have gone with an r280 from a different brand for the same price... I trusted Sapphire and I feel a little bit let down.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Performance, Functionality, LEDs are handy for temp monitoring

Cons: BIG, odd fan buzzing, and fans are starting to die after 7 months.

Other Thoughts: Overall this card is fantastic. I have an all AMD machine and it works great. However the fans are starting to die and make a terrible noise.

2 out of 5 eggsDriver Issues

Pros: Great card when it functions properly, will never have a problem with over heating if all the fans work, good colors and LED's

Cons: So when TW: Attila came out I played it blue screened half way through my first battle. I was like whatever and just launched again thinking it was a power flux because of a storm but it blue screened again, and it fried the card. I took my pc to a repair place and they said faulty manufacturing was to blame for the card frying. Apparently these cards have problem causing drivers and can cause games to blue screen or crash because the video drivers don't match up and he said there wasn't really a way to fix it.

So I have this beast of a graphics card just sitting in a cabinet because of the New Egg return policies :(.

P.S: Keep all your boxes and manuals and what not when you order from New Egg because without you cant send anything back if you don't have the original packaging.

1 out of 5 eggsGlitches / Artifacts in every game

Pros: Is a decent card without all the issues

Cons: Glitches and artifacts in every game I play. I've dealt with them for over a year now and it's too much for me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price, but B.I.G.

Pros: ~lots of bang for the buck
~pretty
~very quiet for having 3 fans
~good fps in Star Citizen and any other game I played

Cons: as others have said, this card is big. I MEAN BIG.
B I G G E R
yea, THAT big. I have a full sized case and still I had to bend an aluminum cage out of the way.
also, as others have said, very little in the way of instructions/manuals etc. Enjoy discovering things like the 'mystery' button, the blue 'heat' lights, and if the new Omega drivers work for your system or not ( they didn't for me, I had to roll-back )

Other Thoughts: If you can make it fit in your case, I highly recommend this card for the current price ( $189 or less after rebate ). It works very well in pci-e 2.0 & 3.0 systems, and will Crossfire well with 1, 2, or 3 more cards when upgrading into a x99/ddr4 system in the future.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card...mostly.

Pros: This card is great. 3 fans, beautiful colors, and -- most importantly by far -- excellent graphics. I got this as an upgrade from an R5 270x, and I'm glad I did.

Cons: The card isn't too well designed, unfortunately. The size is fine; folks just need to get a big case and read descriptions. My issue is that the weight of it causes it to sag down and away from the MOBO. I used dental floss to create a sort of suspension cable-girder-support thingy off of the top of the case holding my card up so that it won't bend or warp my MOBO.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA JUNK

Pros: High end card when it worked. Card seems to have great reviews and marks. Lots of postive videos for it on youtube. However lots of misinformation on this card as well.

Cons: Purchased in July....was not able to get computer working until August due to a DOA mother board as well. Upon replacment mother board was able to get machine working for 3 weeks since then it has been DOA. Product is outside of new egg return policy and maufacturer warranty is 2 years. New egg informs me i need to deal ith Sapphire directly. Sapphire tells me i need to work with the seller for returns/warrantly/replacement. First new egg rep i talked to in returns was unhelpful and unwilling to talk to me or give me information. I called back an talked to shipping and this person was a tad more friendly and pointed me to different contact informaiton for Sapphire and offered to send them and email on this issue. However nothing but the run around. Poor customer service on new eggs end and sapphire. If newegg sells a product and it state 2 year warranty help the customer and support it for that time frame. If you purchase a TV from best buy they still support their customer during the manufacturers warranty and send it out for them. Been purchasing products from new egg since 2008 and never had an issue. However this will likely be my last purchase from new egg due to their unwillingness to help their customer. Guess I am out $230 for the Sapphire Radeon R9270X Toxic. I will likely buy a new card from another online retailer as there are no local computer shops where I live. If i could rate this card a zero I would and New Eggs support a half egg. Another major issue is the maual...15 short pages with no information and 7 different languages. Button on the side that is supposed to switch to BIOS boot or UEFI. However no documentation to state that. Only found out that information through reading other reviews, forums on sapphires page, and youtube videos. Also random lights on the card that are supposed to be to tell you how hot the card it but no information on how to decipher the lights. Serious lack of support and information on this card.

3 out of 5 eggsGood card, bad luck.

Pros: Just a great card, it churns out all the games I play and does it well.

Cons: Just the size, absolutely massive.

Other Thoughts: ***Card started artifacting in games, wiping out the sky and stuff, really weird. Thought it was an issue with the game until I started spotting artifacts on desktop/webpages etc. Started displaying these symptoms 2-3 days after my refund chance expired with newegg. Really would like a refund since I decided to go with a GTX 970 instead.

5 out of 5 eggsNice card

Pros: Very nice card, it has three fans, which are quiet, that keep the temp pretty low, can run everything thing i throw at it on ultra with at least 60fps most of the time higher. except shadows of mordor, that game has some ridiculous graphics. but i can run it on high and dont see much of a difference.

Cons: the only thing i can think of is size. i even read reviews on it and wasnt expecting it to be this big. i have the Rosewill THOR V2 fullsize case and it fits snug, so i doubt it would fit in a mid. its about 30 cm or so.

Other Thoughts: looks really cool with the yellow lit up sapphire logo

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy

Pros: Probably fine for a single monitor

Cons: This card is absolute garbage. There is so much misinformation about it no one seems to know what it can/should/does do.

The AMD/ATI reference says a R9 270 or R9 270X can both run 2 DVI and 1 HDMI output at the same time. The caveat is the two DVI displays must be identical...well mine are and it doesn't work! Hours of forum scouring led me to a lame suggestion that some found you can't hot swap the monitors. So if they aren't plugged in at boot you will always be forced to disable the DVI to run the HDMI and or disable HDMI to run the DVI.

Then comes the reality that this awful trick worked...kind of. The HDMI output is scaled and horrid quality. Everything over HDMI looks like it's a bad heavily compressed jpg from the 1990's.

To add insult to confusion if you do disable both DVI outputs the HDMI does not improve. It's still a scaled compressed disaster. I tried several HDMI cables to rule out the cable as the culprit.

Then we have the fact the manual makes no reference to the physical switch on the card that changes the BIOS settings. So for the first several hours I couldn't even get my machine to post because this undocumented switch was not mentioned in the manual I downloaded from Sapphire. Silly me, if I had just scrolled to the bottom of the stupid product page I would have seen a blurb about it...heaven forbid they put something like this in the MANUAL!

So now I'm sending this worthless thing back and of course New Egg is wasting more money by charging for shipping despite the product not working as advertised. Of course you could jest "depends on whose advertisement you payed attention to." because as I noted at the top of this everywhere you look some one seems to say something different about what the card is capable of. In fact forums are abound with the poor HDMI output, how the advertised put put options don't work, and how them spending money on various display port adapters still fail to fix the problem and allow them to run the monitor outputs as advertised.

The box basically says the card will only run 2 monitors if you use the DVI, yet the card is supposed to be able to run 6 monitors and the AMD output reference explicitly states the 270chip will run exactly what I got this for. See http://support.amd.com/en-us/search/faq/170 Then on the Sapphire site it says “supports up to 3 display monitor(s) without DisplayPort 4 x Maximum Display Monitor(s) support” Really who the hell do you believe!?
