By working with the component engineer, Sapphire’s exclusive choke is 10% cooler, and offers 25% more power efficiency than a normal choke. The graphics card will be more reliable and will save energy. Improved reliability and better overclocking are possible by using only high-polymer, aluminum capacitors, which possess far superior characteristics than regular aluminum capacitors for a longer product life. 5 out of 5 eggsGreat price/performance ratio

Pros: This card comes at a great price for the horsepower. Easily handles any game. Newer titles play well at reasonable quality settings, but slightly older titles really shine. Cities Skylines runs flawlessly, Borderlands 2 never shows any frame rate lags and plays like a dream capped at 60 fps. Haven't tested this with GTA IV yet. Half-Life 2 tech demo runs perfectly capped at 60 fps. This is an excellent choice for affordable, enjoyable retro gaming. And by retro I mean 2013 and earlier.

Two of these is cheaper than 1 GTX 980, but not an R9 290X. Make your decision carefully.

Cons: None really, except that the card is long so you should have (will need?) a full tower case. I wouldn't plan on 4K UHD gaming with this card, but maybe with a pair of them you'd be fine.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card based on its reviews, price point, brand, and power consumption requirements. All Sapphire cards I've owned have performed well, lasted years, and been free of defects and rendering artifacts. I have no affinity for NVIDIA or AMD cards per se, I've just had too many problems with NVIDIA cards to trust them any longer. I've owned a number of both, and overall the AMD Radeon cards have performed equally to my satisfaction with significantly less issues. You may have the opposite experience. One thing is certain: this is a great card.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Gaming Value

Pros: Easy install. Adds value and speed for gaming versus other cards. Better to save on the front end for those who are going to upgrade down the road anyway. Easy rebate offer which saves on cost.

Cons: Runs hot. I can feel the heat on max settings, but not constant. Fans kick in to cool and at time runs loud.

Other Thoughts: Overall, great for BF3 or 4. Had no problems after a week of use. I have always preferred AMDs Radeon Cards from a cost stand point versus others.

5 out of 5 eggsR9-270X

Pros: Runs great! Looks cool! Great price! I have been running this with and FX-6300 and 8 gigs of ram. I play Diablo 3 Max settings 20-40 FPS at medium high almost max setting 80-90 FPS. Couldn't have asked for a better for the price

Cons: Large but it fit in my tower great! Also you will need to go into your BIOS and turn off onboard graphics with a factory HP motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent

Pros: -Excellent GPU for the money
-I have run all my games on Ultra(highest) settings and so far have not experienced any problems (average ~ 60 fps on the most demanding games)

Cons: -Fans can get loud on max load, but it's not very loud at all. My CPU cooler is louder than these on max.

Other Thoughts: -AMD FX8350 4.0 (overclocked to 4.4)
-16 GB 1866 Memory
-Sapphire ATI 2GB 256bit R9 270X GPU
-Gigabyte GA-970-D3P Mobo
-Crucial 500gb SSD

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs smoothly, very nice graphics.

Cons: This thing is huge. It def takes up alot of space in the tower, so you have to have a bigger tower for everything to fit.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card For The Price

Pros: This has been excellent card so far. I'm able to run Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline (Beta), and WoW on high sittings at 1920x1080 with consistent 60+ FPS. It's certainly not a top-of-the-line card that's going to get you 90 FPS on ultra settings, but it's also about half the price of one that will.

Cons: I haven't ran into any cons.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to put in a mid-range gaming rig. I use it for other things, but I also wanting something I could fire up to do some gaming on as well. This card was the perfect choice for that. I can play games with pretty sweet quality and it didn't break the bank.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Easy install in a case which rejected an R9 290x due to length. Removed old drivers, uninstalled old card, put in new card, installed new drivers. EZ Peezy as it should be. Really nice boost from the Radeon HD 5380 which this replaced (also a Saphire and going strong after 4.5 years).

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: $170 is a nice price point. My philosophy is to spend this amount every 4 - 5 years. Good price for the performance.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Runs cool, and quiet

Cons: Large Size

Other Thoughts: I really dig this card. It runs quiet, and stays cool, and plays skyrim great with WINE on Ultra High Graphics so just pretty awesome. It just barely squezzed into my Rosewill case though. It Fits, there is just not really any space below it , or above it, or around the edges, just enough for airflow. I had to tape all of my usb and lighting, SATA, and power cables to the case botom so they would not hit the fans on the card. Its a minor annoyance for an otherwise great card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: This card works as it should providing 60+ fps on average in games at medium/high settings. However, playing BF4 on Ultra took a major fps dive. I won't dock an egg because this card isn't designed for stable fps above 60 on ultra settings.

Cons: None, really. Sapphire generally puts a good product out.

Other Thoughts: I got this card to crossfire with a 7870 sapphire vapor-x, which according to online reviews should crossfire. However, crossfire performance was inconsistent, with random fps drops, massive screen jitters, etc. I don't have the time of day to fiddle with settings and troubleshoot and my PSU was enough 850 watts. So I returned it to upgrade to a 280x or 290.

As of this review the 280x has dropped in price and is worth the extra 30-40 bucks for the upgrade.
