It's based on the highly acclaimed AMD 28nm GCN architecture and boasts DirectX 11.2 support, giving you the power to drive today’s hottest games — and tomorrow’s. With Ultra Resolution Gaming you can leave HD in the dust by gaming on displays much, much larger. Whether using a 4k monitor or combining multiple HD monitors, you’ll get an expansive experience that’s truly out of sight. A rich set of AMD innovative technologies are included, such as App Acceleration, AMD PowerTune, AMD ZeroCore, and AMD HD3D technology. With these technology advancements, you'll get more than one way to elevate your gaming experience.

  • newegg Vapor-X Technology SAPPHIRE’s innovative Vapor-X cooling technology allows products to run not only cooler, but also much quieter. A Vapor-X product means a virtually silent gaming experience, and more headroom to explore performance tweaking!
  • newegg Black Diamond Choke and Full Solid Cap Design Choke is an important component of the graphics card. By working with the component engineer, Sapphire’s exclusive choke is 10% cooler, and offers 25% more power efficiency than a normal choke. The graphics card will be more reliable and will save energy. Improved reliability and better overclocking are possible by using only high-polymer, aluminum capacitors, which possess far superior characteristics than regular aluminum capacitors for a longer product life. When operational temperatures drop by 20°C, the product life span is extended by a factor of ten; when the operational temperature increases by 20°C, the product life span only decreases by 10%.
  • newegg DirectX 11.2 The tessellation performance on AMD Radeon R7/R9 series is up to two times faster than the previous generation, and DirectCompute performance is also faster to accelerate advanced post-processing, filtering, and anti-aliasing techniques. Direct X11 games has never looked this good.
  • newegg Mantle There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of GCN architecture to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality. (Application support is required.)
  • newegg AMD Eyefinity Enjoy the ultimate immersive gaming experience with innovative “wrap around” multidisplay capabilities.
  • newegg Dual Firmware Support This product supports both Legacy and UEFI BIOS. By factory default, the card itself is under Legacy mode. Sapphire products with "Dual Firmware Support" functions equip the UEFI firmware that's digitally signed and approved by Microsoft for Secure Boot. With Windows 8's secure boot architecture and its establishment of a root of trust, the customer is protected from malicious code executing in the boot path by ensuring that only signed, certified "known good" code and boot loader can execute before the operating system itself loads.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Doesn't run too hot
Great Price/Performance
Looks good

Cons: Only game this runs bad on would be Arma 3 mulitplayer, but what doesn't run terrible on that. Still gets 60fps+ on singleplayer.

Other Thoughts: Works great with pretty much all games. On higher intensity graphics, you may need to go a tick down from ultra (i.e. GTA)
Next step up from this card would deifinitely be an R9 380 if you want an even better value.

4 stars for just slightly less performance than I wanted.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product!

Pros: Have never had any issues with the card.
Runs all of my games flawlessly on Ultra thus far.
No lag, no clipping.

Cons: The card runs a little warm for my liking.
Fans can be noisy when under stress.

Other Thoughts: I recommend a larger tower if planning to use this card, I have a mid size and it have about 1-2mm of clearance.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY FROM XFX! Warranty issues!

Pros: was a good card for the week it worked properly...

Cons: card has 2 fans.. 1 runs full speed constantly after a week of use. I started the RMA process with XFX over a week ago now and still have zero contact and cannot get a reply.. used to be a good company.. not anymore.. AVOID XFX!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent value but...

Pros: Can run most games but...

Cons: Although this can run most games, you really need 4GB of t RAM. Limited to DX 11.2 on-chip.

Other Thoughts: I own an IDENTICAL card that is marketed as the Sapphire R9 270X Dual-X. I rate this card 4 eggs for existing owners ONLY. If I were rating this card for purchase today, I'd probably rate this 2 eggs. Overall, for when I purchased my card, it was a good buy. If I were purchasing a GPU today, I would NOT get any R9 200 series card because they are DX 11.2.

1 out of 5 eggsCard good. Rebate bogus

Pros: I have been using this card a little over 3 months now. Card actually is a pretty decent card for what I use it for. I have had some stability issues after installing card but may be linked to its massive size restricting air flow a bit. I did have higher expectation for benchmarks but again, the in case temps are way up running this setup and may have something to so with it.

Cons: I wish I could recommend Sapphire, but if they had zero eggs, I would give them that. Their rebate is totally bogus. I submitted it all within 3 days of getting the item and installing. Then a few weeks later I got an email that my rebate was denied due to illegible documentation, saying the packing slip was not legible. I had included the packing slip from newegg. Complete, crisp, and I thought very legible. So I mail in a printed receipt from newegg. They claim that they never received it so no $20 rebate. Rebate customer service says there's nothing they can do since its over 30 days since they sent me notification. I assumed they were just being slow and didn't even think about it until I used the gigabyte card that arrived at the time when their card should have. Neweggs packing slip was fine for them

Other Thoughts: There are alot of other brands that I have used that the rebates work fine. If you buy one of Sapphire's products, don't factor a rebate into the price comparison. I just hope I never need to file a warranty claim.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat! and overclocked good

Pros: Was able to overclock this card to 1180 MHz core and 1400MHz memory so i kind of downclocked as well, but it runs great highest temperature it gets is 63C at 55% fan speed

Cons: Didn't max out most of my games at 60+ FPS, and could only at high settings so shouldn't at this price point

Other Thoughts: It didn't make me dinner lol

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: Really great and at a good price. I can run Skyrim at 60FPS with a lot of mods. Had it for a year and still no hiccups!

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsGood luck trying to RMA anything.

Pros: Ran Battlefield 4 at ~40 fps with all settings maxed on my system when it worked.

Cons: Constant graphics glitches, and Direct X errors.

Other Thoughts: I sent in my ticket on 5-21-15, it is now 6-4-15 I still do not have an RMA number to return my defective product. There is absolutely no communication between the tech people at all. I informed them that I had purchased my card new on a certain online auction site and not once did they mention that this certain online auction site was not an authorized vendor and that I would have to pay a $30 fee to process my RMA. Only after digging around for my receipt and sending it in was I informed of this. I sent my RMA form in to tech@athlonmicro 2 days ago, the same day that I was told to fill it out and send it in, and I am yet to get any sort of response from anyone. This was my second purchase of a Sapphire product and it will be my last, I will go with a company that doesn't jerk around their customers.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card!!

Pros: Very quiet and cool. I maxed out at 986 fps on minecraft with video settings as low as possible.
CPU: AMD FX 8350
Mobo: Gigabyte 970A-D3P
RAM: Corsair Dominator DDR3 8GB 1866MHz

Cons: Couldn't go over 1000fps on minecraft. :(

Other Thoughts: This card is really big, so be sure to measure your case before you buy. I think the card is 10.4" long maybe, It's listed in the specs somewhere though.

4 out of 5 eggsRuns good enough.

Pros: - Runs everything I play with good fps on medium settings
- quiet
- Runs smooth
- not power hungry

Cons: - not as powerful as it should be at this price
- un able to overclock at this time, might be me, might be the card, might be KAVERI compatibility.

Other Thoughts: - not the most powerful but not the weakest either
- ran in a system with 12 core KAVERI CPU and got 73 FPS average on 20 minute fur mark stress test, topped out at 72 degrees C, still quiet. Good enough for me. Stock clocks, unable to overclock card at this time, still playing with different settings in BIOS.
- will upgrade to a new card later, wife had to approve the build budget. I decided to compromise a powerful graphics card for more processor power and water cooling now. Marriage is a game of compromise and patience...
