The SAPPHIRE 100366-2L Radeon R7 260X is powered by AMD Radeon R7 260X, the latest AMD GPU designed to take your gaming to the next level. Based on AMD generation GCN architecture and boasting support for DirectX 11.2, the Radeon R7 260X is built to play the very latest games with perfectly smooth action, even at higher resolutions. New AMD Eyefinity Technology allows you to build three-monitor environment through just two DVI and one HDMI ports, without connecting DisplayPort which is required in HD 7000 series. AMD TrueAudio Technology brings your game to life by adding more realistic environmental dynamics, sound effects, and directional audio. A rich set of AMD innovative technologies are included, such as App Acceleration, AMD PowerTune, AMD ZeroCore, and AMD HD3D technology. With these technology advancements, you'll get more than one way to elevate your gaming experience.

  • newegg DirectX 11.2 The tessellation performance on AMD Radeon R7/ R9 series is up to two times faster than the previous generation, and DirectCompute performance is also faster to accelerate advanced post-processing, filtering, and anti-aliasing techniques. Direct X11 games have never looked this good.
  • newegg Mantle There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of GCN architecture to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality. It’s a game-changing innovation developed by AMD.
  • newegg AMD TrueAudio Technology AMD TrueAudio technology brings the world’s first programmable audio pipeline marking a new frontier in realism for PC gamers. AMD TrueAudio technology empowers game developers with a programmable audio pipeline on the GPU, inviting them to put their unique artistic fingerprint on in-game audio in the same way that the programmable graphics pipeline brought unfettered artistic vision to PC graphics. Enabled games can feature more realistic environmental dynamics, a richer tapestry of sound effects, breathtaking directional audio and more. AMD TrueAudio technology enhances audio realism by simulating the human brain’s perception of real-world sound, working in concert with the user’s existing audio hardware to recreate a lifelike experience (on supported games).
  • newegg AMD PowerTune Technology AMD PowerTune is a breakthrough technology that sets an entirely new direction for maximum performance at TDP. It allows the GPU to be designed with higher engine clock speeds which can be applied on the broad set of applications that have thermal headroom.
  • newegg AMD Stream Technology Accelerate the most demanding applications with AMD Stream technology and do more with your PC. AMD Stream Technology allows you to use the teraflops of compute power locked up in your graphics processer on tasks other than traditional graphics such as video encoding, at which the graphics processor is many, many times faster than using the CPU alone.
  • newegg AMD App Acceleration AMD App Acceleration is a set of technologies designed to improve video quality and enhance application performance. Full enablement of some features requires support for OpenCL, DirectCompute, or DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA).

2 out of 5 eggsCard Barely Works

Pros: Card Does Display some Video and Graphics, just not as supposed to

Cons: Supposed to have 2 GB of GDDR5 memory, but none works. Card will not run any higher end games, like, Civ Beyond Earth. AND card does not display anything with AMD MANTLE, screen goes black. Also, does not seem to load direct x 11.2. My old HD 7770 works better than this.

Other Thoughts: So far, not impressed. Have RMA'd for a replacement. Will see how a new card performs. Will write an update after I receive and test same.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Card

Pros: It beats the socks off the 8800GT it's replacing, but it's no world beater. I can play most new titles at pretty good settings (mostly high) even with the limits of my aging Phenom X4 9750. It runs cool and quiet at idle and has only been as high as 73C and not terribly loud on the fan under load.

Also, Mantle is really good for games that support it--15-20% difference in fps.

Cons: Price per FPS, you can do better. If you can save up and get something in the $200 range, you'll get much better value. That said, at the price range of this card, it's hard to beat this little card.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: Upgrade from the reliable, but now aging, AMD HD 5770. Big performance leap! Easy install, worked right out of the box, no problems. Use Sapphires overclocking software for easy and stable changes. The graphic driver on disk is out of date, download the current one from Sapphires website and enjoy spectacular results. This a great card for economy build.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: A great upgrade for aging PCs, well worth the money. Light power consumption, quiet, and runs cool.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it; but---

Pros: Fantastic card for the price. Kills great games on the highest vanilla settings at a decent resolution. Runs quiet; not too hot, and it's still has headroom for overclocking. Almost perfect. Almost.

Cons: Docked one egg because the card came defective. For some stupid reason; the HDMI section of the AMD driver does not install. The system gave three BSODs before the drivers finally installed......and the HDMI still does not work. Chalked it up to a defect in the card itself; no other explanation made any sense after having the same problems on three separate computers with fresh installs of various operating systems. I don't presently use the HDMI out; but I worry every day that the card will inexplicably take down my whole system. Had it happen before.

Different versions of the drivers were tried. As many as I could; anyway.

Other Thoughts: This really is a fantastic card; and the fact it comes from Sapphire carries an element of "it will work perfectly," trust. However, it seems to me that this particular vendor has had a noticeable number of defective cards make their way to customers. Understandable; but people don't like receiving defective hardware. In the words of Mort Goldman, "I don't buy your product with broken quarters."

Because this is the only not-completely-satisfied review I've ever given a Sapphire product, I will add that I plan on buying another one of these cards within this month. Sapphire is, in my humble opinion, far more reliable than most of their competition. This opinion however, is subject to change based on whether or not my next card from them is defective.

1 out of 5 eggsBad company does not honor rebates!

Pros: It work, sort of. When I installed the drivers, My machine started locking up. Would not awake from sleep mode.

Cons: Sapphire is trying very hard not to honor rebates. Look carefully at their terms. In my case they are claiming that it was a couple days late geting mailed and they intend to dishonor the rebate.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: I've been able to play games at 1080p on a mixture of medium to high with solid frame rates. Minecraft, Skyrim, and DayZ are great with this card.
It is very quiet, even under load. I think my PSU is louder.
The price to performance ratio is incredible.

Cons: None, really. It's a solid budget card that seems to beat my old Sapphire Radeon 6950 by a bit.

Other Thoughts: This paired with an i3 4150 playing DayZ can get you 30fps in towns / 50fps outside on medium settings no problem. That game is not exactly the best benchmark, but it's a game I play with friends a lot and this gpu is a solid choice for the budget lan / portable build.
