The SAPPHIRE 100366-2L Radeon R7 260X is powered by AMD Radeon R7 260X, the latest AMD GPU designed to take your gaming to the next level. Based on AMD generation GCN architecture and boasting support for DirectX 11.2, the Radeon R7 260X is built to play the very latest games with perfectly smooth action, even at higher resolutions. New AMD Eyefinity Technology allows you to build three-monitor environment through just two DVI and one HDMI ports, without connecting DisplayPort which is required in HD 7000 series. AMD TrueAudio Technology brings your game to life by adding more realistic environmental dynamics, sound effects, and directional audio. A rich set of AMD innovative technologies are included, such as App Acceleration, AMD PowerTune, AMD ZeroCore, and AMD HD3D technology. With these technology advancements, you'll get more than one way to elevate your gaming experience.

  • newegg DirectX 11.2 The tessellation performance on AMD Radeon R7/ R9 series is up to two times faster than the previous generation, and DirectCompute performance is also faster to accelerate advanced post-processing, filtering, and anti-aliasing techniques. Direct X11 games have never looked this good.
  • newegg Mantle There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of GCN architecture to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality. It’s a game-changing innovation developed by AMD.
  • newegg AMD TrueAudio Technology AMD TrueAudio technology brings the world’s first programmable audio pipeline marking a new frontier in realism for PC gamers. AMD TrueAudio technology empowers game developers with a programmable audio pipeline on the GPU, inviting them to put their unique artistic fingerprint on in-game audio in the same way that the programmable graphics pipeline brought unfettered artistic vision to PC graphics. Enabled games can feature more realistic environmental dynamics, a richer tapestry of sound effects, breathtaking directional audio and more. AMD TrueAudio technology enhances audio realism by simulating the human brain’s perception of real-world sound, working in concert with the user’s existing audio hardware to recreate a lifelike experience (on supported games).
  • newegg AMD PowerTune Technology AMD PowerTune is a breakthrough technology that sets an entirely new direction for maximum performance at TDP. It allows the GPU to be designed with higher engine clock speeds which can be applied on the broad set of applications that have thermal headroom.
  • newegg AMD Stream Technology Accelerate the most demanding applications with AMD Stream technology and do more with your PC. AMD Stream Technology allows you to use the teraflops of compute power locked up in your graphics processer on tasks other than traditional graphics such as video encoding, at which the graphics processor is many, many times faster than using the CPU alone.
  • newegg AMD App Acceleration AMD App Acceleration is a set of technologies designed to improve video quality and enhance application performance. Full enablement of some features requires support for OpenCL, DirectCompute, or DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA).

2 out of 5 eggsBSOD

Pros: Runs all my games...

Cons: Occasional blue screen of deaths. The errors linked back to the graphics card, but unfortunately Newegg cannot accept RMA once UPC code has been cut off packaging.

Other Thoughts: Avoid these rebates

3 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Price, 2gigs ddr5, r6, mantle, amd

Cons: This model shipped to me with end parts of the grill bent. Where was the quality control on that. Sapphire has always been a go too for quality reasonably priced graphic cards but this may have changed my mind about that. Hopefully it wont affect the card in the long run. Also there needs to be support for duel graphics with fm2+ like the a10-7580k but that's more AMDs fault than sapphires

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice card, worth price

Pros: Probably the best video card you can get for high end gaming on one monitor. Everything works just fine. Just be careful when transporting your PC - not many people do this, but when moving the PC in a vehicle, take the card out, this will prevent damage to the card and PCI-E slot on the motherboard.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsGREAT MID-LOW GPU

Pros: Easy to install, super quite operation--low power draw dual slot design---cheap to add a 2nd card in crossfire to up the ante

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: This is a great price point entry gpu getting users into low to mid-level graphics cards--plenty of GDDR5 to go around in this quite, low power draw unit---Wont take much of a psu to get this thing going, and gamers can expect average F.P.S. on Medium Quality settings--I recommend this gpu for any budget build--

5 out of 5 eggsMight have won the jackpot

Pros: So, I waited a week before doing this review because of the amount of DOAs, driver issues, and cards burning out that I see on here.
Installed in my budget PC, downloaded latest STABLE catalyst drivers, not the beta drivers, and it so far runs every single one of my games without any problems. I don't know how a first time PC builder can get a card working without any issues while others seem to be plagued with them.

Cons: I can't max out my games, but that's because I bought a budget card.

Other Thoughts: Judging by how well this card is performing for me, I may be sticking with Sapphire.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card! Great Price!

Pros: Tall and Stubby to not extend into the hard drive bays like other cards
Big heat sink
Quiet fan
7.7 on Windows desktop Aero rating
7.7 on 3D business and gaming graphics (just as a relative comparison)

Cons: Old looking sticker
Had to cut bar code off pretty box for rebate

Other Thoughts: Spec's say it requires 75 Watt PCI-E power from a 500+ Watt power supply. I don't know what my Corsair CX600's PCI-E power cable supplies, but it has run the car fine on a 48 hour encoding text (before sending bar code for rebate).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wish I could get the 290X from Sapphire lol. Maybe on day. :)

3 out of 5 eggsOverall very happy with GPU

Pros: The GPU card and AMD Radeon Catalyst software installed fine out of the box with no issues.

Cons: I installed win 8.1 64-bit for this new build. I specifically bought this card to match my AMD A6800k APU for crossfire performance. After 5 attempts to install the GPU/CCC software and uninstall including a win 8.1 re-install I gave up on using the video bus to crossfire this GPU with the onboard video on the APU. I went through numerous online forums, Sapphire's site, AMD's site. The crossfire button does not appear in the performance GUI screen as described in the instructions/forums. Maybe it works fine in win7 or win8...but apparently not so much with win 8.1. I even used different versions of CCC.

Other Thoughts: After reading through the forums I realize that AMD has a hard time updating their APU/GPU compatibility lists and that includes my APU/GPU combo. I specifically went with an AMD build this time for the more "bang-for-the-buck" build concept. Maybe it's time for me to rethink that on my next build. Intel?
