The SAPPHIRE 100366-2L Radeon R7 260X is powered by AMD Radeon R7 260X, the latest AMD GPU designed to take your gaming to the next level. Based on AMD generation GCN architecture and boasting support for DirectX 11.2, the Radeon R7 260X is built to play the very latest games with perfectly smooth action, even at higher resolutions. New AMD Eyefinity Technology allows you to build three-monitor environment through just two DVI and one HDMI ports, without connecting DisplayPort which is required in HD 7000 series. AMD TrueAudio Technology brings your game to life by adding more realistic environmental dynamics, sound effects, and directional audio. A rich set of AMD innovative technologies are included, such as App Acceleration, AMD PowerTune, AMD ZeroCore, and AMD HD3D technology. With these technology advancements, you'll get more than one way to elevate your gaming experience.

  • newegg DirectX 11.2 The tessellation performance on AMD Radeon R7/ R9 series is up to two times faster than the previous generation, and DirectCompute performance is also faster to accelerate advanced post-processing, filtering, and anti-aliasing techniques. Direct X11 games have never looked this good.
  • newegg Mantle There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of GCN architecture to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality. It’s a game-changing innovation developed by AMD.
  • newegg AMD TrueAudio Technology AMD TrueAudio technology brings the world’s first programmable audio pipeline marking a new frontier in realism for PC gamers. AMD TrueAudio technology empowers game developers with a programmable audio pipeline on the GPU, inviting them to put their unique artistic fingerprint on in-game audio in the same way that the programmable graphics pipeline brought unfettered artistic vision to PC graphics. Enabled games can feature more realistic environmental dynamics, a richer tapestry of sound effects, breathtaking directional audio and more. AMD TrueAudio technology enhances audio realism by simulating the human brain’s perception of real-world sound, working in concert with the user’s existing audio hardware to recreate a lifelike experience (on supported games).
  • newegg AMD PowerTune Technology AMD PowerTune is a breakthrough technology that sets an entirely new direction for maximum performance at TDP. It allows the GPU to be designed with higher engine clock speeds which can be applied on the broad set of applications that have thermal headroom.
  • newegg AMD Stream Technology Accelerate the most demanding applications with AMD Stream technology and do more with your PC. AMD Stream Technology allows you to use the teraflops of compute power locked up in your graphics processer on tasks other than traditional graphics such as video encoding, at which the graphics processor is many, many times faster than using the CPU alone.
  • newegg AMD App Acceleration AMD App Acceleration is a set of technologies designed to improve video quality and enhance application performance. Full enablement of some features requires support for OpenCL, DirectCompute, or DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA).

5 out of 5 eggsBlown away

Pros: Amazing GPU for the price
Plays all my games at 60+ fps @ 900p
Doesn't consume a lot of power
great for a budget build

Cons: Thing gets HOT

Other Thoughts: I set my expectations a bit low for this card, and let me tell you, I was blown away from the performance. I've never bought AMD GPUs in my life, I'm glad I gave it a chance.

BF4 - |High/Ultra| 60+ FPS
Minecraft - |High| 60+ FPS
League of Legends - |High| 60+ FPS

Cons: Drivers were very difficult to install properly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget GPU

Pros: This is a great GPU for anyone looking into gaming on a budget. It runs basically all games at 1080p at medium settings for most and low for extremely punishing games. I run it with a Intel Pentium G3258 and get awesome performance for this low of a price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Don't really like AMD's driver options for displaying to a TV through HDMI to get rid of those black edges, unless I create a custom resolution with a tiny edge on top, the scaling options still leave a tiny edge all around. Could be because of my lower end TV used as a monitor for this GPU.

1 out of 5 eggsDriver support is the only failure on this card

Pros: Though it's not a high-end card, when it runs, it looks pretty good.

Cons: Driver issues cause black screen of death unless computer is restarted frequently (daily depending on what is being done). Netflix, iTunes, games - it doesn't matter. Issue is documented on AMD forums and other forums across web.
Using beta drivers improves the black screen crashing somewhat. Very frustrating.
ATI opengl not up to par either.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat performance, even at 1080p

Pros: Quiet, works well. Great performance with Metro I & II at 1080p.

Cons: I guess it's not the world's highest end video card, but I haven't bumped up against obsolescence either. My hunch is it wouldn't hold up well for 4K 3D. That's not much of a con in my book, but maybe it is if you own a 4K monitor!

4 out of 5 eggsGood bang for buck

Pros: Runs most games that it's been used for on high settings, as intended.

Cons: Not powerful enough for newer, higher-end games. In my case, not really a con, as it wasn't intended to.

Other Thoughts: I picked this up to upgrade a pre-built machine (I didn't do the proper research and the stock card came nowhere near cutting it even for casual gaming). The intended purpose was for running older/mid-range or casual games, particularly Skyrim and The Sims 4. For the $100 or so that I paid for it, it passes with flying colors. Great bang for the buck.
