  • newegg DirectX 11.2 The tessellation performance on AMD Radeon R7/R9 series is up to two times faster than the previous generation, and DirectCompute performance is also faster to accelerate advanced post-processing, filtering, and anti-aliasing techniques. Direct X11 games have never looked this good.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent low budget card

Pros: Great for multiple displays and works great in my SFF desktop

Cons: Down on performance, feature set is somewhat limited

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for, a pretty good low profile budget card.

4 out of 5 eggsGood card at a Great price.

Pros: Works great once you sort the driver out. Does work under Windows 8x64.

Cons: Driver was hard to get loaded. I don't like having to install their Catalyst Control Center just to get a full screen. Driver installation had to be done from original disc since later drivers would not install. I really thought I'd bombed my OS, but with a lot of patience I finally got things working like they should.

Other Thoughts: Overall a good card, but driver issues cost them an egg and probably should have cost them two.

4 out of 5 eggsGood low profile card.

Pros: So far with my Acer Aspire. 4gig ram , E6600 cpu and this r7 240. I can run the following.
Star Wars the old republic- Medium
World of Warcraft- Medium
Neverwinter Night mmorpg- Medium
Divinity Original sin- Medium
Borderlands 1 & 2- medium- High
Warframe- Medium

All the games could tweak some setting to what you prefer.

Cons: Not the great but still good.

Other Thoughts: Runs all the games I wanted to play so far, the one I have yet to try is ESO and Guild Wars 2.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent cheap card.

Pros: Pros- Low Profile, cheap, runs cool (for me) easily to run max overdrive settings. Usable with 220 watt PSU Plays WoW, Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Star Wars The Old Republic and more pretty well.

Cons: Cons- Was hoping for a bit more performance
Don't buy it expecting to play any new or recent games.

Other Thoughts: I have a cheap Acer Aspire 1920x e6600 dual core, 4gb ram and now got this card. Runs perfectly on only a 220watt PSU.
Upgraded from a 5450 and am satisfied with the performance upgrade. I also tried Borderlands 1 & 2 and ran them fine with some settings tweaks.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: None.

Cons: First clue was product not shrink-wrapped. Clearly a recycled return. Tried it anyway but drivers would never load, from CD or web. Windows would not recognize the digital signature. Error code said something was compromised. Returning ASAP. Hoping just a lemon, but fearing you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: Long-time customer, very disappointed in Newegg. This wasted hours of my time.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat perfomance for the $ on 2 monitors

Pros: Very compact, since it only takes one slot space. Low power consumption and very quick response for the task that use more often, CAD-CAM. I need the two monitors setting for managing multiple views and well as for an expanded view across the two monitors (24" each) at the maximum resolution with HDMI connectors.

Cons: The manual is very limited and almost useless for a novice. But the driver setting interface is quite intuitive if your are familiar with most of the technical terms, one can follows the setting without much aggravation.

Other Thoughts: It is a consumer video card, I cannot ask for a high performance card. and the price ($69) can fit a very limited budget for the performance and convenience that it delivers.

5 out of 5 eggsbudget gaming/home work computer

Pros: i got a open box ver. so i saved about twenty dollars
but even at this price it is not a bad deal if you are in need of a lo profile card
i got a 2 gig ver. and i must say i am quite surprised this card is about twice as fast as the aging 5450 but it dose use about twice as much power
5450 15w r7 250 max about 30w so for a media pc i would still go with a fan-less ver of the 5450 but for a low cost budget gaming pc this card is the better choice

Cons: little on the expensive side the sweet spot for a true budget card will be in the $50 to $60 range

Other Thoughts: i got this for my 11 year old that wanted to play some EQ and a few other older games
i got her a Refurbished HP small desktop office pc from newegg (why needed low profile card) with a duel core 3ghz and 8 gig ddr 3 750 gig hd with cheep keybord and mouse for $250 ad this video card
and got her the cheapest 32" 1080p tv i found less then $200 tv
so for right at $500 she has a very good looking and quite powerful computer and tv system for her home work and fun/netflix system
should do her nicely for 3+ years
.
