4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast, high quality, great price, great cooler.

Cons: A wee bit noisy once it gets humming along, but nothing headphones can't fix.

Other Thoughts: If you are going to try and use this for a watercooling loop, don't. There are no full card water blocks for these cards. I wish EK or XSPC or even Sapphire would make one. Granted the vapor-x tech and the tri-x fan work absolutely amazing for cooling this beast off, but i wanted my case to glow blue.

3 out of 5 eggsSeemed Good......

Pros: Right away the card looks pretty dam cool. Vapor-x glows blue and i have a black and blue themed build so i was really happy with this card. Fit great in my case and worked like a charm right out of the box after loading drivers. Played all the games i wanted it to play and had the settings turned up to ultra just to see how it handles. Then it started to happen.....

Cons: Sadly after a good 7 days of playing games for about 2 hours a day, it started to show artifacts on the screen. This being my first real time ever buying new stuff and not piecing together builds from other peoples stuff, did not know about RMA rules. On day six i sent in my upc to receive some money back and then the next day the card started failing.

Other Thoughts: I will buy another one and have a go with that one but its a shame that there is no way to have this card replaced and im out a few hundred all because of a $20 tease. The lesson learned is play games for at least a good whole day to test the card out hard. And run some benchmark stuff too.

3 out of 5 eggsLocked BIOS!

Pros: It runs cool

Cons: WARNING: This card has a locked BIOS. Since I run Linux, I cannot change the voltage in any way. I got a half broken card, in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: Stop with this. I NEED to flash a new BIOS to change voltages.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card but..

Pros: The Heat Sink is awesome. Card stays very cool.

Can Handle anything really. you may find one or two limitations but its a 5 star rated card. sure you could spend more but! why? you will max everything out, sell it in 12 months and but the next gen card anyway.

Cons: One issue with this card i have found is the memory clock. after months of trying to figure out why some times a game would crash or freeze i finaly figured out my problem.

the memory is clocked really high. i down clocked it to 1250 and i havent had a single issue. if your running in to bugs down clock it with the overdrive in the CCC the mem 1250mhz and the core to 1000mhz and all the issues disapear and the card runs cooler.

at the same time with the down clock its still more powerfull then stock.

as if the card didnt run cool enough. i also saw 0% performance loss that was noticable.

Other Thoughts: Down clock it

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing works flawlessly

Pros: I put this badboy in my system and installed the driver cd. Everything works great so far. The tri x cooler was great to begin with and the vapor x adds to the already great cooling. The shroud is aluminum and the vapor x logo glows blue to match my case lights so its very good looking. My temps havent gone over 36c yet. Maxxes out Warframe and Skyrim. Buy it

Cons: non

5 out of 5 eggsGreat purchase

Pros: -Great out of the box clocks. 1100/1500.
-Ran Unigine Valley benchmark. 720p, Ultra settings, 2x aa and averaged 62.5 FPS
-Great cooling
-Drivers east to install
-Looks awesome

Cons: -Very large card
-Droops in case a little from being so long.
-Requires 2, 8-pin connectors from power supply

Other Thoughts: No artifacting or overheating. Overclocked with AMD overdrive to 1240/1675 and averaged 65.8 fps in same benchmark as noted above.

Great card overall. Huge step up from my MSI 6850.

3 out of 5 eggsArtifacting sometimes

Pros: -Runs cool at 67 degrees on Unigine valley

Cons: -For some reasons this card is artifacting on some games, usually on older ones. I think its memory related. The memory seems to overheat. I never got a problem with it when the fans where spinning at maximum which is why It artifact on games with lower settings.

Other Thoughts: I overclocked it once so I can't return it. But I swear its didn't overheat when I overclocked it so the artifacts aren't related.
I only increased the core clock settings. I didn't touch the memory clock or the voltage.

5 out of 5 eggsVapor X R9 280x TRI X oc

Pros: What can I say? The R9 280x is the 7970. This is the card they should have put out. Beast cooling along with 1100ghz. She doesnt break a sweat. I have my R9 crossfire with my 7970. Let me tell you the power and performance. my Firestirke benchmarks are 13356. All games are on max. Now its a big card i tell you that. Its about a 2 inches longer then my Dual X 7970. Had to move a fan but other then that it looks like it belongs there. Three 100mm fans make the best of cooling and dont really kick up a lot of sound. Voltage is locked but i have her overclocked at 1130mghz. Hasnt gave me a issue as of right now. If your on the fence or need to save on some cash, get this card. I was lucky and got it for 319 and 3 free games!

Cons: Only con I see is there isnt a back plate. Its not worth taken a egg off cause the card is solid.

Other Thoughts: I also have it paired with a i7 4820k. Together with the crossfire its a dream.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome card

Pros: Awesome cooling and very quiet. There are enough reviews for the 280x out there. enough said. I did do a lot of research for the best cooling solution out there. Well.. I've found it. Replaced a Crossfire 6950 setup and wow what a temp and noise difference

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsnever switch to AMD

Pros: nice cooler, 3gb vram.

Cons: unstabled, cant run DX11 titles, just everything on the inside is horrible that I have experienced

Other Thoughts: This is my first and last time switching with AMD, had to RMA it because for some reason it wasn't running DX11 games like Crysis or Battlefield, it would always freeze and then I have to reboot, and then not only that but it locked my display up that I could no longer get into windows, I had to do a clean install of windows 8, lost everything on my hard drives and SSD and then after that all of a sudden it just stopped even booting to bios, I have never in my life experienced this with all the Nvidia cards I purchased not even one hiccup with Nvidia cards, not only that but when I had to purchase a return label of 15 dollars just to ship it back (still in shipping) and not only that but Newegg charged me twice and im probably going to get a overdraft fee on my bank account now. wish I never sold my gtx 770, just the one time I really wanted to switch to a different company because I thougth the card looked awesome. Never again will I go this route.
