5 out of 5 eggsAmazing price, best of Upper-Mid level

Pros: Great software comes with card to manage any settings, especially makes using more than one screen an easy setup and you can tweak a lot of different settings to your liking.

I've never found this card to run terribly hot but if it does you can OC the fan to 100% easily for games like Witcher 3.

It's never once failed me on any game and rarely, as I said before, runs hot.

Cons: Like all R9s (minus the 285) it is pretty bad at tessellation.

Also it is completely unable to run "Hairworks" from nVidia for W3. Not a deal breaker but something to think about if you are going for games that use nVidia software and/or tessellation.

Other Thoughts: As tessellating is becoming the new wave in graphical prowess for games, and relatively fast too, I suspect that this card will not last me much longer if I want to run new games on 720p.

I will definitely be upgrading to the R9 285 since it has a vast improvement in tessellation and I suggest many high-end rig gamers do the same.

5 out of 5 eggsA nice upgrade after a little adjustment.

Pros: The affordability of the Sapphire dual x r9 280 is pretty good. Its good for my gaming standards because it giving me 150 fps on cs:go.

Cons: My motherboard is pci express x16 2.0 and the cards stock settings needed to be tweaked because it would only idle at 300 and 150 mhz. First I had to make a 3D profile on msi afterburner of 940 mhz clock and 1250mhz memory. I also had to create a 2D profile on msi afterburner of basically idle mhz and memory. Then I had to change settings to without powerplay support.

Other Thoughts: Disable powerplay support if the graphics card is stuck on idle like mine was.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Bargain

Pros: Very quiet
Exceptional graphics quality
Plays BF4 Ultra 60+ frames flawlessly, and any newer game for that matter (including Dying Light at 60+ frames)
Fits in low budget Mid-ATX case (with about 2 inches to spare).

Cons: Very large, but that's the trend now right?

Other Thoughts: I needed an upgrade from a AMD 7850 1GB card and saw this deal. I wanted to play newer games without breaking the bank. This card does the trick - does everything I need it to do and more. I don't plan on doing 4k gaming soon, so sticking to 1080p for the next 2 years is a perfect scenario for this card. At the time I got it for $149.99 after $20 dollar rebate. I really couldn't say no for the type of upgrade I was looking at.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Video Card

Pros: Has a good amount of oomf for your needs without having to pay the price for a 4gb card, can play a majority of games at the highest level of quailty, get fantastic picture when used for video purposes like movies, and definitely ups the resolution of your monitor/screen.

Cons: Depending on your PSU, you may need to upgrade it.

Other Thoughts: I was looking to upgrade my computer as I have it hooked up to my TV. It's how I game and watch movies and tv online. Bought this with high expectations, but needed to upgrade my PSU to handle it. After buying and installing a new PSU, i popped the card in and had no trouble afterwards. Gaming was up to higher level of graphics from what I was used to (a 1gb card) and all media that I watch has a noticeable difference in quality. Pretty sweet stuff. Just invest in the PSU when going to a higher end card.

4 out of 5 eggsVery nice for the price

Pros: VERY quiet card, even when full-on gaming. The fans do kick on, for sure, but I barely hear them even without headphones.

Cons: Puts out a lot of heat during gaming. That might not be a fair con, but it is what happens. Make sure you have plenty of venting room.

Other Thoughts: The card is cool to look at. It holds up well during gaming, though certain background software on your computer may cause the card to sputter some. I had some weird sound card program that the card didn't get along with - disabled it, and the card sails along. The card is a full 10 inches, so make sure you have room in your case for it. The fan casing sticks out a bit, so the slot immediately next to the card is useless (otherwise you'd block the fans). Overall, though, for the price I paid, I am not complaining!

5 out of 5 eggsBest Graphics card for a budget pc build

Pros: This is my 3rd Sapphire R9 280 card to build 3 gaming pc. I was able to play Mortal Kombat X, Dyng light pc, GTA V etc.. on high to Very High settings and run between 30-60 fps. Games run smooth for me. Max temp was about 62 degrees running at 99%. stays cool. Best Graphics card for your money. You cant go wrong with these cards.

Cons: I did have one card go bad after a few months but I was able to get a quick replacement from AMD and 2nd card working like a charm.

1 out of 5 eggsgood price and value, if you're lucky

Pros: good card for the price, value

Cons: worked ok for about 4 months, then black screen, no display available errors. I switched out PSU to try and fix but did not help.

Other Thoughts: the RMA process on this is not straightforward. Ultimately i'm hoping to get another version of this card because it can work good but i'm having to get a second one to hopefully get it.

3 out of 5 eggsno soup for you

Pros: was strong for 5 months in a daily forex station with no problems

Cons: black screen, no signal error; replaced my PS to no avail; chronic problem with this series; going back to MSI and Giga...

Other Thoughts: the RMA process is unclear; sapphire is passing the buck onto the retailer; so will this be an exchange outside of newegg's return period? Who wants to deal with this nonsense?!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat middle of the road card

Pros: -Good for gaming
-Can overclock or even under clock
-Can control fan speed

Cons: A little power hungry,as to be expected

Other Thoughts: I was looking for a fairly cheap card that would allow me to play CSGO and a few other games on my linux machine. This fit the bill nicely, no issues playing, looks great and was a great upgrade from my previous card. I'm not an avid gamer but I like to sneak off and play a few rounds every now and then.
