Hail to the King.

The SAPPHIRE R9 295X2 8GD5, the coolest, quietest, fastest and most advanced graphics card, is engineered for the ultimate performance. It employs two top-selected AMD Radeon R9 290X Cores and a mammoth 8GB of memory. A total of 2816x2 shaders running at 1018MHz provide more than 11.5 teraflops of computing power, which translates into effortless gaming at 4K or five Full HD 1080p monitors setting.

Beyond pure performance, this card comes equipped with closed-loop liquid cooling solution to ensure cool, quiet operation even under demanding loads. The exterior is a powder-coated machined aluminum shroud punched with industrial rivets, which is more professional in looks and more efficient in thermal dissipation. A full-length, solid metal backplate reinforces the card against impact damage, and helps with heat discharge.

Bring home this card today and take your gaming to the next level.

  • newegg The Graphics Champion The AMD Radeon R9 295X2 features two AMD Radeon R9 290X ASICs (formerly codenamed “Hawaii XT”) in their full configuration: 2816 shaders running at up to 1030MHz. A total of 2816x2 shaders with 8GB memory work side by side, making this card the undisputed graphics champion.
  • newegg Factory-fitted liquid cooling system In an industry first, the AMD Radeon R9 295X2 graphics card reference design ships with an advanced closed-loop liquid cooling system developed jointly with Asetek. Enjoy cool temperatures, quiet operation, and consistently high performance right out of the box.
  • newegg All-metal construction Built from striking powder-coated aluminum, this GPU is beautiful to behold. It’s built to our highest standards, and it sends a message that’s loud and clear: this is serious hardware.
  • newegg Ultra resolution powerhouse For some gamers, having enough isn’t the point. For them, overkill is merely a starting point. That means extreme resolutions, multiple monitors and sliders to the max. Run ultra settings in 4K with impunity. Or get two million pixels more than 4K by combining five HD screens in an AMD Eyefinity technology setup. Either way, the AMD Radeon R9 295X2 barely breaks a sweat.
  • newegg Mantle technology There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle technology. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of Graphics Core Next to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality.
  • newegg AMD TrueAudio technology Technology that puts the magic of surround sound into every headset and helps give sound engineers the freedom to innovate in ways they’ve never had before. This is what the future of PC gaming sounds like.

5 out of 5 eggsBest gpu I have ever owned!

Pros: this card has it all. It is the fastest/ coolest running card I have owned. I oc'd this card 15% and it still runs 20°c below the recommended heat limit. And it is also the most powerful GPU I have owned, it is packing 2 Hawaii cores, they were already powerful as is.

Cons: No cons here. If you are looking for cons, check out the titan z's reviews

3 out of 5 eggsR9 295x2 OC

Pros: Fast (when it works) - about 1.9x a single 290x at 1030mhz
Relatively quiet (when it works)
Design form factor; two gpus in a single 2x pcie slot
Tri-fire scaling with 290x appears to be decent

Cons: Throttles at only 75C, and gets to that temperature very easily.
VRMs are known to overheat
Inconsistent performance in verious games when in eyefinity setups.
VRM fan is very loud when starting up computer. (Or if you get a DOA unit, see below)
Costs close to 2 290x with a custom cooling solution (which is borderline necessary, their AIO cooler is inadequate)

Other Thoughts: The first card I got was DOA. Newegg took care of it but its pretty sad to spend this much and get a card that's completely broken out of the box, but it happens. Second card I got overheats, but apparently is insufficient grounds to RMA again. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the 295x2 or Sapphire, but the Sapphire tech said the "engineer" told him that the 'card is working as intended' given my description.

If you buy this, be mentally prepared to have to downclock this video card if you want to avoid stuttering from the clock speed constantly fluctuating due to overheat throttling. Individuals on forums who have ASUS or MSI versions don't seem to have problems with the card throttling under normal use so it seems as though Sapphire decided to go with more poorly binned chips from AMD that either get hotter or need more voltage in to maintain clock speed stability to save money. This is unfortunate because Sapphire was my go-to for 10+ years and now I'm really thinking of switching over to the green team.. and I swore I would never say that.

Needless to say, I'm disappointed in my purchase.

My suggestion: Get 2 290x off an online auction site for cheap and put waterblocks on them to set up your own loop. You'll save money and have some overclocking headroom.
