5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: This the 3rd AMD/ATI 6970 that I have bought. The First a Vision Tech cost $190 in 2013. then $99 for a Power Color. and $85 for the Sapphire. They are all great Cards and were top of the pile in 2012. I looked and nothing came even close for Shaders 1536 and 2 gb DDR 5 in this price range. It does need at least 225 watts of 12 volt at least 50+ amps on 12 PSU

Cons: Power Hunger. 10.25 in long and needs slot is double wide .

Other Thoughts: GPU-Z spec's 40 nm 2 Billion 640 Million Transistors. 1536 unified shaders. Pixel Fillrate 28.2 GPix. Texture Fillrate 84.5 GPix. Bus width 256 Bit. Band width 176 GB/second GPU Clock-rate 880 Mhz Memory 1375 Mhz 2048 MB Samsung open CL and Direct Compute 5.0 Direct X support 11.0/SM 5.0

5 out of 5 eggsThis card ROCKS ..

Pros: The price of this card is spectacular. Being that it is an older card, I thought that it would have a hard time keeping up with the current games out there. Right now this cards is running wild all over world of tanks on maximum setting and it is barely breaking a sweat at 60 to 65 C.

Cons: I have none at the moment

Other Thoughts: This card is worth the money.

5 out of 5 eggsMinecraft sings now

Pros: Killer price for such high performance. Bought to upgrade machine my kid is playing Minecraft on now. I historicallyused it for Visual Studio, coding and productivity so has 8gb, Win7 x64, Intel i5 2.67ghz which is plenty for that. But video card not the best for gaming, was a GeForce 9400 GT 512mb DDR2. That card got a 4.1 on the Windows Experience rating. This new Sapphire pegs the rating at highest score of 7.9 and makes Minecraft look like a Dreamworks movie.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Never got a Radeon card before, always Nvidia chip, this is my first. Couldn't pass on the specs for the great Egg deal, and it delivers exactly what I was looking for. Inexpensive but supremely significant performance boost to gaming, especially Minecraft which is all my household cares about right now. Insanely different Minecraft. Do your kids a favor and pick one up, you'll be done and done. Also, make sure you have a big case because this thing is a foot long and almost 2 inches thick..never had a card so big. Also, it takes 2 power connections from the supply. Comes w/ adapters to piggy back classic 4 pin hard drive connectors if your power supply not modernized w/ now typical 8 pin connections. Again, you must connect both power connections, it's not a choice, they don't offer both to give you options - that's what I thought and I got no video signal at first, had to juice them both. Also, do NOT install drivers from Windows Updates. Use the disk. Yes, it's 2015, and yes the disk is probably a bit older, but the Windows drivers will bonk out and I forgot what I did to get out of the loop where safe mode didn't quite work right to uninstall...I did something that involved the original disk to restore it..whew..thank goodness. After that - nails - buttery Minecraft, like a dang cartoon now. Schwing!

4 out of 5 eggsEfficient enough

Pros: Got it for literally 100 dollars. That means I can't complain much about it. Since the second digit is a 9, that alone tells you that its an extremely strong card for its series. I'm using this for my gaming rig for now, but let me tell you, it can handle EVOLVE on high settings. So yeah, no complaints.

Cons: It eats power, so much so, that I get an awkward bonner thinking about it. It's not efficient at all when it comes to power consumption, but for this price, its not an issue. My psu is 750 watt certified gold, so yeah, that cancels out the inefficiency.

Other Thoughts: By no means is it a spectacular card, but it gets the job down for dirt cheap, and it'll last me for at most 2 years. That's more than enough time to save up and get an amazing upgrade.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: N/A

Cons: Card was dead on arrival. Messed around for a few days trying different power supplies, pcie slots, different video outputs, wiping drivers and reloading new drivers with old card, and booting from mobo with vga and came to the conclusion the 6970 showed up dead

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well

Pros: Easy to install, especially in this AMD system. Nice fans for cooling. Came with a VGA adapter helping with installation.

Cons: The only thing I don't like, is the fans kinda go against my air circulation path. The air should go up and back, but the fans on it point down. But the only thing there is the PSU, so it's really not a huge deal. Dual cards might need some careful consideration, though.

Other Thoughts: Excellent picture quality when playing games.
