The SAPPHIRE TRI-X 100363-2SR is powered by a Radeon R9 280X, the latest AMD GPU designed to take your gaming to the next level. Based on AMD 28nm GCN architecture and boasting support for DirectX 11.2, the Radeon R9 280X gives you the power to drive today’s hottest games — and tomorrow’s, keeping you in the fight whatever the circumstances. With Ultra Resolution Gaming you can leave HD in the dust by gaming on displays much, much larger. Whether using a 4k monitor or combining multiple HD monitors, you’ll get an expansive experience that’s truly out of sight. A rich set of AMD innovative technologies is included, such as App Acceleration, AMD PowerTune, AMD ZeroCore, and AMD HD3D technology. With these technology advancements, you'll get more than one way to elevate your gaming experience.

The SAPPHIRE TRI-X R9 280X features the exciting new Tri-X cooler design, which uses three sophisticated aerofoil section fans together with industry-leading 10mm heatpipes to give unrivalled cooling efficiency. The stylish shroud is designed not only to look cool, but to manage the airflow over the card for the maximum cooling effect.

  • newegg SAPPHIRE Tri-X Cooling Technology Sapphire's exclusive triple-fan design pushes out the heat more efficiently than standard dual fans.
  • newegg Mantle There’s optimization, and then there’s Mantle. Games enabled with Mantle speak the language of GCN architecture to unlock revolutionary performance and image quality. It’s a game-changing innovation developed by AMD.
  • newegg Black Diamond Choke and Full Solid Cap Design The choke is an important component of the graphics card. By working with the component engineer, Sapphire’s uniquely designed choke is 10% cooler and offers 25% more power efficiency than a normal choke. The graphics card will be more reliable and save energy. Improved reliability and better overclocking are possible by using only high-polymer, aluminum capacitors which posses far superior characteristics than regular aluminum capacitors for a longer product life. When operational temperatures drop by 20°C, the product's life span is extended by a factor of ten; when the operational temperature increases by 20°C, the product's life span only decreases by 10%.
  • newegg PCB Temperature LED The built-in onboard LED allows users to monitor the PCB's temperature.
  • newegg Dual BIOS (Legacy and UEFI) Support This product supports both Legacy and UEFI BIOS. By factory default, the card itself is under Legacy mode. By pressing the button with te SAPPHIRE logo, the UEFI mode is easily enabled.
  • newegg AMD Stream Technology Accelerate the most demanding applications with AMD Stream technology and do more with your PC. AMD Stream Technology allows you to use the teraflops of compute power locked up in your graphics processer on tasks other than traditional graphics such as video encoding, at which the graphics processor is many, many times faster than using the CPU alone.

4 out of 5 eggsgood price

Pros: powerful and great value

Cons: there is definitively some coil whine and I even suspect it needs underclocking.

3 out of 5 eggsNewegg support rocks

Pros: Looks excellent, has tons of ports, came with all adapters, packaged well.

Cons: Died after <5 minutes of Fallout NV. PC force rebooted, and would not display from the card. Newegg's customer support was great, still got an RMA with a partially shredded box.

Other Thoughts: Will update this review once the new card arrives.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: I purchased this card for a whole new build, and its wonderful. Every game I've thrown at it, it has run in dazzling HD. Skyrim (my personal benchmark) with 2K textures and 30+ mods runs at nearly 100 frames per second. And Star Citizen looks gorgeous, and runs at 60 fps. It runs cold, and very quiet. And the Sapphire logo glows a yellow that really sets off my case.

Cons: This isn't really a con, just something you need to consider before buying: this card is MASSIVE. It fit in my mid tower with no more than 3 mm of spare room. Be sure your case can fit this card.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card!

Pros: I got this card a few weeks back and this thing is amazing. It is surprisingly quiet for having 3 fans. It's much quieter than the old quadro fx 3700 I was running, and that only had 1 fan. I don't have the ideal gaming system, but I am running 2 quad core Xeons with 16 GB ram in quad channel and it handles anything I throw at it. It runs BF4 in ultra settings with no stutters what-so-ever. I don't have a very good ventilated case and under load Its around 70 C. I picked the 3 fans because of poor ventilation.

Cons: This card is massively huge! I had about 1 inch of clearance in a full tower case. It also requires 2 8 pins, so I had to do a bit of modifying to get it to receive proper watts, because my PSU only has 2 6 pin's.

Other Thoughts: Even though this card is huge, it looks and runs amazing. So far I have 0 regrets with this card.
