1 out of 5 eggsToo Long

Pros: None.

Cons: Doesn't even fit in my case. Using a Rosewill Blackhawk case and it is too long.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this card!

2 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: + Very fast card compared to my old Sapphire HD 5830
+ Looks awesome and even has a lit up SAPPHIRE logo on the side
+ Ran games fine until I introduced Twitch.tv to my 2nd monitor while I played
+ Ran cool peaked at about 70C with maxed settings on FC3 (Ran without Twitch open)

Cons: When I ran a game and Twitch.tv open on my 2nd monitor at the same time it would crash my computer with either a BSOD or a freeze that I would have to hard boot from. My drivers were clean installed. I tried drivers 14.9, 14.4, and 13.12 (supposedly the most stable). The game would run fine by itself and Twitch ran fine by itself. I did a clean install of Win7 and the same problems occurred.

I reinstalled my old card and it ran Twitch.tv and the game no problem.

I requested an RMA and am going to ship it tomorrow. I will update this review when I test my new card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Video Card

Pros: Works Great! I'm able to play every game that I have on ultra(or the highest video settings) with atleast 70 frames. Also you get 3 free games from AMD that are from a wide variety of games.

Cons: A little bit pricey but it's worth having if you want to buy it.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs modern games at high to ultra settings on a 1080p display at 60 fps without overclocking. Some overclocking potential. Pretty quiet, fans haven't had to go to high in standard use. Use the HDMI port for display. Works fine.

Cons: Had some minor instances of green flashes but updating to the most recent drivers removed that problem. Large card didn't quite fit in my case properly. You need at least 12 and 3/4 inches length. Didn't fit in my Rosewill Lineglow case as desired.

Other Thoughts: Wrote this review for the guy asking how long the card was.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Price and Performance

Pros: The SAPPHIRE 100363-4L Radeon R9 280X 3GB Tri-X OC version is clocked at 1020 on the core and the memory at 1500 (effective rate 6000). The VDDC (voltage) is .875 volts. The temperature runs around 50 degrees on idle. The fan ran around 20 percent. The BIOS is 015.046.000.016, dated 27 July 2014. The clock specs do not match what is on Sapphire website. That probably explains why this model number is so much lower in price than the other two model numbers being sold here. For the price, I am good with that.

Overclocking was easy using Trixx. I upped the core to 1100 and the memory to 1600 with no changes to voltage. My card has Hynix memory. Temperatures never exceeded 75 degrees under 98 percent GPU load. Idle temp was around 52 to 56 degrees. The fan running at 29 percent. The fan can be a bit loud, but I game with headset so don’t care. 3DMark gave a score of 7080 for the Fire Strike test. Battlefield 4 played flawlessly. Overall, I am very happy.

Cons: This are not really cons to me, but might be for others.

The card is long. I mean really long. If you have a midsize tower it’s probably not going to fit. My case is Thermaltake SopranoRS. The card will not fit without modding the case. I’m cheap, so I cut about a square inch from both sides of the hard drive bracket. This card will not fit between the harddrive brackets, nor would it seat unless the back side of the bracket is cut out.

There seems to be an issue with R9 cards and the monitor sleep. When I woke the monitor sleep my middle monitor (I have 3 monitors) was flickering like crazy. I had to reboot to solve it. Reading the forums it is either a driver issue or a BIOS problem. Just disable the monitor sleep mode and don’t worry about it.

Other Thoughts: AMD 8350 (Stock speed)
16 GB Memory
Asus Sabertooth 990FX (the original version)
Soundblaster Z
Win 8.1 64 bit
