1 out of 5 eggsPoor Choice

Pros: None

Cons: System started running extremely slow after install. Getting latest drivers did not help. Card also ran extremely hot. It may have been a defect, not sure. My current system is a duo core with 2GB RAM. Should have been been plenty power.

1 out of 5 eggs@@@ DO NOT BUY @@@

Pros: NONE

Cons: Before I purchased this card i thought i could turn on the hypermemory ON or OFF, apparently you can not change this setting. The hypermemory makes this card unbearable to use, when your system memory goes down to half from 1 gig because of the video card. My system tanked in system performance big time. DO NOT BUY! ESPECIALLY anything that says "HYPERMEMORY!"

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent video rendering. Not the fastest card out there any more, but works extremely well for average user. Price and rebate at time of purchase made this a deal too good to resist.

Cons: Initial drivers from GECube did not load properly. Took several tries to get drivers to load properly. Best bet is to completely uninstall previous drivers and then install after rebooting system.

4 out of 5 eggsA good deal

Pros: It has almost all the functionality of the current top-of-the-line cards, and about half of the price, if not less.

Cons: The Catalyst software can very much get in the way, at times opening up while a game is running and causing the game to minimize and crash.

Hardware-wise, none that I have seen yet.

Other Thoughts: I haven't had any problems with this card crashing my system, but ATI's Catalyst software is amazingly annoying.

The card itself gets a 5, but the software gets a 3.

2 out of 5 eggsehhh

Pros: Can't use it

Cons: It requires to much power and locks up a soon as i try to start a game. Has no extra power slot to get more power to it. I would not suggest it unless ur mother board is a beast. I'm returning it and going to buy a diffrent card.

4 out of 5 eggsA+ on the hardware, C- on the software.

Pros: A great entry card into the PCI Express world. Also, it's one of the cheapest "ATI Crossfire" cards out there.

With a "Crossfire" compatible motherboard, 1GB of RAM, and an Athalon-64 4000+, I can run "Halo" at full resolution... even when playing a 16 person multiplayer game, and it's still smooth... freaking awesome!!!

Cons: I had some issues with the software. It took about 5 tries to get it to install properly. What I downloaded off ATI's site was even worse.

Also, when trying to set it to "clone" between monitors, it doesn't do it manually. You need to go into the display wizard to get it to work.

Basically, ATI needs to do some improvements to the software. It has no logical sense to it.

It's this card's only weak point.

Other Thoughts: I only gave it a 4 because the software issues were darn annoying. Software issues aren't permanent though. I can only hope that ATI will get it straight.
