4 out of 5 eggsYour Power Supply..

Pros: I am running this card off a 2 year old Antec 640w power supply without any failure thus far, about one week of use.
I have not tried overclocking and don't honestly think it needs to be at this point. This card at stock settings tears through every game I throw at it! Crysis/Far Cry 2/Bioshock all cranked to max res and max AA. So far very happy for what I consider a risky buy given the off brand.

Cons: Like others have said, it runs a bit hot and loud. Yes of course these things are a con but you have to expect that with these top performing cards. Make sure you have a large platform for this card. Anything smaller than a standard ATX motherboard will not work 99% of the time.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind that the quality of your power supply plays a HUGE factor! Companies like Antec and Corsair make lower wattage power units more effective. If you are in the market for a new one take my advice and spend a little extra cash for quality. They will last a heck if a lot longer, perform better and lower your electric bills.

Manufacturer Response:

Great advice. You should come post in our forums! I can use all the help I can get explaining how important the PSU is.

Glad you like the card.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent card. It is easily on par with my other rig running 2x GTX280's in SLI and about $300 cheaper.

The 4870x2 is typically neck in neck with the above SLI setup, with the exception being Crysis and I think we all know that Crysis was heavily optimized for the Nvidia platform. Very pleased with the card so far.

Cons: None for now.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a quality power supply and adequate cooling and you should be just fine :)

Manufacturer Response:

The mac daddy of cards. Glad it's doing well for you!

5 out of 5 eggsquieter than i expected

Pros: well made, easy to set up the drivers (catalyst 8.9). quieter than i expected, now the reserator xt water cooler fan is loudest device in the system... looks nice too. Handles any game so far no problems, makes my monitor seem outdated and slow instead of other way around.

Cons: price ( ^^ )

Other Thoughts: Hot Hot Hot... but the stock cooler takes care of it and exhausts out of the case. Don't get a burn putting fingers by the exhaust to check the heat... Innuit, dont use in an igloo it will melt the walls. Has not increased fan speed noticably yet for cod4 or any other app, seems to cruise along on low speed fan.

Manufacturer Response:

Glad you like the card. No doubt it's a beast.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This card alone is leagues ahead of my old setup which was 2 8800GT 512MB at 700/1736/1000. Playing crysis I can set the resolution to 1920x1200 with everything on very high except motion blur and have an average of 40fps, lowest it ever drop on me was 24fps during massive battles.

If you have the money this is the card to get at this moment.

Cons: Heat but the new 8.9 drivers now have fan controlling options and so does Riva tuner.

Other Thoughts: I wonder what the revised model of this from Palit will look like since this seems to be a references design.

Palit and its sister companies makes cards with better quality and redesigned for the enthusiast, which I love so much about them.

Manufacturer Response:

I haven't seen the speeds and feeds of our own design on this yet but it is coming.

Glad you like the card.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is huge!

Pros: Two of the most powerful chips tied to GDDR5 with a built-in crossfire setup makes the best video card I could have imagined. I use thing primarily for Lord of the Rings Online, and run 1680x1050 with every setting turned up all the way. I sit at 60 fps solid with Vsync on, and during insanely busy scenes never drop below 30 fps. On my old 8800 GTS I had less than half the graphical settings and averaged 30 fps at the same resolution.

Cons: Currently a driver issue with LotRO making Anti-Aliasing and DX10 not survive inside scenes. Until this is fixed I am running without AA on, but my frame rate doesn't even seem different with 8x is on compared to none.

Other Thoughts: I have a large server case and this comes less than half an inch away from the hard drive cage. I even had to turn it at an angle to get it in before inserting it. Takes lots of power, I had to upgrade from a 610 Watt PSU to a 750; though I could have gone with 650 supposedly. If you have the system that can handle this you will not be disappointed. Being able to use the insanely high resolution textures makes games look like pre-rendered scenes!

Manufacturer Response:

No doubt about it, beastly size, beastly power and beastly performance.

Thanks for going Palit.

5 out of 5 eggs9.5 for EXTREME

Pros: Extremely fast.... Much faster than the 8800gts i upgraded from. I'm quite cpu bottlenecked since i'm using a 2.4 ghz e6420. i'm very excited to see what this thing can do with a better cpu and vista 64 bit.

Cons: heat and lack of drivers to support the 4870 x2 at this moment.

Other Thoughts: ATI definately needs to get drivers for the 4870 x2 out asap. This thing is amazing and i'd like to see it even more faster!!
The temps aren't as bad as i've seen in the reviews. I'm getting 55c on idle and 83c load. This is without a doubt the fastest piece of hardware avaliable right now.

Manufacturer Response:

Thanks for buying a Palit card!
