4 out of 5 eggsSolid Cards

Pros: Bought two of these to run in SLI and I have had no problems thus far maxing out industry staples, such as Black Ops, WOW: Cataclysm, Metro 2033, and others.

Cons: I purchased this on 8/29/10 and mailed my rebate out shortly thereafter, and I still have NOT received either of them.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks ok for awhile

Pros: Runs great at first, plays SC 2 and WoW at ultra without overclocking for the first few months.

Cons: Drivers started crashing soon after Cataclysm launched. talked to a friend that advised me to reset clocks to Nvidia stock, and Vtune software wouldn't hold the values.

Other Thoughts: Submitted rma tonight, and reinstalling my 4870s, but no telling how long Ill have to wait.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast, cheap, plays pretty much anything (when its working), not too hot

Cons: Only works when it wants to

Other Thoughts: This is a great card that plays everything pretty well, but while playing certain games like Crysis or Dirt 2 for around 30 minutes, the video will cut out and come back on multiple times for about 5 minutes. sometimes it does it on my desktop when im not playing any games. This isnt because of heat or power.

5 out of 5 eggsTotally recommended

Pros: Easy set up. Price to performance ratio is hard to beat. I'm fine without overclocking, but from what I read, this thing OCs like nobody's business.

Cons: No cup holder.

2 out of 5 eggsDead after 3 months. Unimpressive support.

Pros: Excellent capability for the price. Runs all of my games at max setting with no issues.
7.6 score on Windows 7 64bit.
Runs silent, quiet and COOL. All of this "bad heatsink" talk is from these OC fanatics who want to push these cards well past what they are meant to do. Let it run how it is supposed to run.

Cons: Failed after 3 1/2 months. This is the 5th computer that I have built in 10 years and this is the FIRST piece of hardware to ever fail on me. At first I thought it was the drivers. I downloaded the BIOS update and did several clean installs of older and newer drivers, to only have the same effect. The screen would start to flash on and off... then forced reboot.

Other Thoughts: Now running in safe mode with no video card. I just received my RMA number via a very impersonal and unsympathetic email. I will be shipping this out tomorrow with no clue on how long it will take to receive a replacement. Weeks? Months? The only thing clear in the email is that if I don't make sure this is returned in PERFECT condition, I am out of luck.

My next purchase is highly dependent on how smoothly the rest of this RMA process goes.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking GREAT!

Pros: Boost my FPS! Pure Awesomeness! Easy to install. I have a semi old PC from Velocity. AsusP5N-E SLi motherboard and this video card fits nice in the mid tower! I play WoW and my FPS went up over 60fps for the first time in Dal lol. My card is running fine and temps are at 29C idle and around 40C load. Comes with 4 pin molex connector into 6pin power connector for your video card. HDCP! Make sure your blu ray drive and moniter are HDCP aslo =)

Cons: None so Far.

Other Thoughts: Keep in mind this Video card does need x2 6pin power connector make sure your PSU has two. My PSU had only 1 6pin power connector but lucky me this came with a 4pin molex connector that converts into a 6pin power connector (this cable does need two 4pin molex connectors for the 6pin to work). My psu had plenty of 4pin molex connecters. Google 4pin molex connector if you have no idea what it looks like. I just messed around and figured this on my own. I seriously have no knowledge of ever putting in a video card. I got this card for sale at a local shop for $169.99 after a $20 mail-in rebate. I downloaded speed fan to get gpu temps. Well I hope this helps anybody as I read plenty of reviews before doing anything to my computer.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card 10/10

Pros: I find the card to be extremely reliable. I've been running this card for about 4 months since I bought it mid-July, and I've had no issues. The cooling solution (heat sink and fan) is quiet and has given me no issues. In addition, I get consistently good frame-rates (40-60 f.p.s.) on all major titles at 1680X1050 widescreen resolutions on nearly the highest or the highest settings. Some of the games I play include L4D2, Killing Floor, CDMW2, Star-Trek Online, Team Fortress 2, Just Cause 2, Supreme Commander Forged Alliance, Sins of Solar Empire Entrenchment and Diplomacy, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Supreme Commander 2, and Counter-Strike. This card should be good enough to get you through the next 2 years of titles without too many issues.

Cons: None. I purchased this card for $259 with a full-game coupon for Just Cause 2 with free shipping on July 16th. How could I complain? The price has only dropped $40 since then, and that difference roughly equals the price of a game like Just Cause 2.

Other Thoughts: To everyone on here posting negative reviews about the card's many issues, I ask you to please reconsider your reviews and opinions. Did you do your research on how well videocard's ventilate in your respective computer cases? Do you realize that no matter how good the cooling solution of a video-card is, bad air-flow within your case will cause your card to overheat? Do you realize that about 5-10% of all video-cards produced in the first phase of production are defective, and this is common knowledge? Do you realize that it isn't impossible to receive a card with a defect, whether that be a defective fan or a D.O.A.? Do you realize that it is common practice for average to experienced newegg users to return a card if it is defective? Do you realize that you create a extremely biased review if the premise of your complaint is the company is
distrustful because of a defective card or D.O.A.?

If you answered yes to any of those questions, I beg you to rewrite your reviews.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent 460 OC

Pros: First card worked so well for a new build that I purchased a second one to upgrade older 8800 card in a skulltrail series machine. Both cards work great. You will like this card!

Cons: First card came with all the cables, second one had no video cables included??? I had other DVI cables laying around the shop so no big deal but both cards seemed new and boxes were shrink wrapped and undamaged so neither looked like a return.

Other Thoughts: New build used MSI X58 Big Bang system board w/6G memory and Core I7 980 extreme 6 core processor, dual Velociraptor 600G system drives and 1TB Raid 5 data drive. A veritable beast for Gaming!

2 out of 5 eggsHad to give up on these

Pros: Palit had the guts to be the first to release a 800Mhz card and I give them credit for that. I bought two for SLI and when these cards did work (at times), they were smoking fast.

Cons: They were smoking *hot*, running at about 80-90C+ at full load at factory speeds! They turned my computer into an easy bake oven. I was having temperature spikes in my Northbridge components on my Gigabyte mobo and I suspect it was because of their adjacency to the graphics card. The cards had constant problems with NVidias WHQL certified drivers and their beta that required flash updates to fix (and sometimes the flash software didn't work). This is probably a side effect of the non-reference design Palit had to implement to get the high clock speed. After working through early problems and running them for a week of gaming, my game went all green and that was the last time my computer was ever to make it past the login screen in SLI mode. Palit says that the cards meet NVidia’s temp specs but I really think its the high heat that did them in. My case has all kinds of cooling fans, I even zip-tied an an extra fan in just to point at the cards and didn't really help.

Other Thoughts: To give Palit some credit, their customer support replied to my concerns via email quickly and offered some things to try to help resolved my issues. After struggling for several days, I just couldn't risk working with them any longer because I was at the end of my 30 day return window. But more to the point, until the price on these comes down, there is no real justification for buying this model. Palit had a good run, but now I think MSI is on top with their GTX 360 Hawk Talon Attack. It runs at a hair faster at 810Mhz and a lot cooler temperature thanks to *dual* cooling fans. The metallic cover in place of Palit's plastic one is a nice touch too. Did I mention its a couple bucks cheaper and comes with a three warranty!? We'll see if Palit ups the ante with a new offering.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent performance with great value, fits nicely into mobo, overclock pushes it above the competition without increasing temp much

Cons: Sketchy rebate application process

Other Thoughts: I can't complain about the rebate response though, as I received my check in a little less than a month from the time I sent out the form. I have read a few complaints about Palit's customer service, but I haven't had any problems so far

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Joseph,

We try to process rebate and all claims as quickly as possible. We appreciate you giving us a feedback and will always look to improve from our customer feedback. Customer satisfaction is very important to us.

Thank you for your feedback.
