Supercharge your gaming experience with the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 video card. The GeForce GTX 970 is powered by the next-generation NVIDIA Maxwell architecture, delivering unmatched performance at incredibly lower power consumption when compared to the previous generation. 1664 CUDA Cores and a 4GB GDDR5 memory in a 256-bit width work side by side for game redefining performance. You can play today's hottest titles at max resolution on today's highest-definition displays, all at ultra settings.

Performance is just part of the story. The Maxwell architecture is engineered with the new VXGI (Voxel Global Illumination) technology to solve some of the most complex lighting and graphics challenges in visual computing. Scenes are significantly more lifelike as light interacts more realistically in the game environment. Super Resolution technology lets you enjoy the detail and brilliance of 4K gaming even on 1080p displays. The G-Sync technology ensures smooth, tear-free images by synchronizing display frame rate to GPU (require displays that support G-Sync). An array of NVIDIA GTX technologies are also built in, like GPU Boost, NVIDIA 3D Vision, NVIDIA Surround, NVIDIA PhysX, and GeForce Experience. These technologies together provide the most immersive and competitive gaming experience possible.

  • newegg NVIDIA GPU Boost 2.0 Technology Dynamically maximizes clock speeds based on workload, and allows enthusiast class controls such as temperature target and fan controls, extra over-voltage headroom, and optimizations for water-cooling solutions. This allows greater customization and overclocking options, and enables gamers to push performance to new levels.
  • newegg NVIDIA G-SYNC NVIDIA G-SYNC is groundbreaking new display technology that delivers the smoothest and fastest gaming experience ever. G-SYNC's revolutionary performance is achieved by synchronizing display refresh rates to the GPU in your GeForce GTX-powered PC, eliminating screen tearing and minimizing display stutter and input lag. The result: scenes appear instantly, objects look sharper, and gameplay is super smooth, giving you a stunning visual experience and a serious competitive edge.
  • newegg Dynamic Super Resolution Technology Enables the details of 4K monitors, on a 1080p display. DSR produces smoother images by rendering a game at a higher resolution, then downscaling it to the native resolution of the display using advanced filtering.
  • newegg GeForce Experience The easiest way to optimize your games and keep your drivers up to date, the GeForce Experience application automatically notifies you of new driver releases from NVIDIA. Update the driver directly with a single click, without leaving your desktop. Plus, it offers exciting features like GeForce ShadowPlay that lets you capture and share your greatest gaming moments, automatically.
  • newegg NVIDIA PhysX Technology Full support for NVIDIA PhysX technology, enabling a totally new class of physical gaming interaction for a more dynamic and realistic experience with GeForce.
  • newegg NVIDIA Surround Nothing is as breathtaking as playing your favorite games across three monitors. At 5760 x 1080, the expanded field of view fully engages peripheral vision and provides for the most immersive experience in racing and flight simulators. Add a fourth display to keep tabs on chat, email, or the web while you're gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as Expected

Pros: Works great, many of my games have doubled in frame rate from when I had my GTX 670.

Cons: very, and I mean very, light coil wine, only noticeable when playing games that push the card to its max. I never hear it normally as I wear headphones at all times.

Other Thoughts: Great card, though I don't see much difference in games yet as I had a GTX 670 and could already run that on max settings at 60 FPS. I will have to get some newer and more demanding games to really push this card.

5 out of 5 eggsTons of performance for the money

Pros: Plays everything I've thrown at it on maxed settings quite nicely. This one also runs nice and cool. For comparison purposes, the 560Ti it replaced was a space heater, getting so hot it would make me break a sweat every now and then. The blower-style cooler is also rather quiet, the 120mm fans in my case mask the sound of the blower. This truly is an enthusiast card at a mid-range price point.

Cons: Nothing, but it would've been mighty nice to get a voucher for a game or two. As somebody that has been building gaming PC's the the better part of 2 decades, enthusiast cards always came with a couple of games to flex the muscles of the new piece. Sadly, most manufacturers have stopped doing this over the last decade.

Other Thoughts: If you're on the fence about this one, get it, especially if you're coming from a 500 or 600 series card. It's a heck of an upgrade and should hold you over for a few years. I was hesitant at first, but my 560Ti was getting long in the tooth. It could play all of my usual games just fine, but the 1GB of VRAM was very limiting. Having the GTX 970 with 4GB gave new life to my games, both old and new.

5 out of 5 eggsAn amazing card for an amazing price.

Pros: I purchased this card as an upgrade for my vanilla GTX 670 that I had in my Alienware X51 R2. Being a small form factor PC, my upgradability options were limited, not only in physical space inside the case; but also power constraints in the form of an non-upgradable 330w power supply. This card is the same size as the GTX 670 and fits in the case beautifully, and amazingly draws 25 watts less. I now have double the VRAM, and a significantly higher base/boost clock than I had in my old card. It shows. Benchmarking did not even hiccup and showed a clock speed that's faster than EVGA advertises which is an awesome bonus. Several games that my system struggled to play on gimped settings before now run in excess of 60FPS with maxed settings. Watch_Dogs being the most notable bump from an intermittent 25-30FPS to an almost solid 60. Bravo NVIDIA, bravo. The build quality of the card is solid, with basic faux brushed steel aesthetics. Fan noise is very tolerable (quieter actually) and dissipates heat out through the back of my case as it did before. During benchmarking my system capped out at 80C with auto fan control on, but once I ramped the fan speed up manually to 85% it hovered around 68-70C. In conclusion, this card is an amazing piece of kit that rivals high end cards for considerably less money and power consumption. If you're looking to future proof your PC for the next few years, this is definitely the way to go.

Cons: I honestly cannot think of anything bad to say about this card. EVGA did a fantastic job on NVIDIA's reference design.

Other Thoughts: For the people who have transparent cases and want to see their awesome looking components, this card might look a bit basic for you. However if you're like me and either have a small form factor PC, or just a solid case then this shouldn't matter to you.

5 out of 5 eggsno problems

Pros: This carf performs. No bsod or random restarts with this card, it works flawlessly. 3 year warranty, and it is the least expensive gtx 970. Finally, hot air blows out the back of my case.

Cons: The fan is not the Titan fan, but it is not loud either. Let's jusy say it gets the job done while blowing air out the back, which is a plus for me.

3 out of 5 eggsCoil Whine/Fan Noise

Pros: Excellent performance for the price, paring these cards in an SLI setup will yield ~60 fps at 4k resolution in most games currently out.

Cons: Fan noise/Coil whine: I have tested the card(s)(I am running two in SLI) independently of one another, and they both have a distinct medium pitch whine when the fans break 90 percent of the max rpm's.

Thermals on this card in comparison to the 670's(both single/sli cards consume about the same wattage) is underwhelming even with a well ventilated case yields both higher idle temps, and load temps. Yet the power consumption is equal is about 1:1 with a GTX 670. This leads me to believe the either the heat sink is just adequate enough to match the max TDP(aka cheap by design).

Other Thoughts: I purchased this card, and my girlfriend added a complimentary card as a birthday gift. Both cards replaced the aging GTX 670's(SLI) in my current setup, since I typically wait until the current generation of graphics hardware exceeds my by a factor of 2 in performance. While these cards deliver the promise, this does not make up for the inherent design flaws in both the fans, hit sink, and inductors(coils).

5 out of 5 eggsLots of OC headroom

Pros: -lots of overclocking headroom.
-17,121 Firestrike Score with this in SLI with the Superclocked Version (both OC'ed to 1280mhz with memory OC'ed to 1953mhz (7700 mhz effective)
-9,530 Single/nonSLI GPU <default Clock firestrike score>
-High default clocks (1050/1753mhz or 1140/1753 for superclocked version)
-Half the price of what 780ti was retailing for with close to same performance
-Very little voltage increases needed for max OC (+25mV total)
-never reaches over 80 Celcius during benchmarks even with OC
-the Price!!!!!!!! (buy two!!!- these kill it in SLI)
-DSR (dynamic super resolution)
-not AMD
-not AMD
-Plenty of GDDR5
-relatively quiet blower

Cons: hmmm...hard to find any negs. I would say the blower/cooler but I am not even near reaching any thermal limits with my overclocks. Maybe the asthetics of this cooler arent near as pleasing as some others but this doesnt look bad. I would've prefered Titan-like blower.

Other Thoughts: This sucker is awesome. The best part of it is how bad it mad the AMD fan boys get when you tell them how good your card is for the price.
