5 out of 5 eggsbest for HTPC

Pros: small size, low noise, one slot deal. awesome HD picture quality, great built in sound. DVD movies look fantastic, plenty of power for multimedia. I replaced a 9800GT that was even stronger at video playback to my HDTV, but it was way too hot and noisy for an HTPC. This baby is just right

Cons: NOT REALLY A CON, but WinXP can't have 2 sound sources, I had to turn off on-board sound in bios. BUT NOT a BIG DEAL as this is only used to out put to my HDTV anyways. the sound card built into this vid card is at least as good if not better than the on-board sound.

Other Thoughts: All you people complaining its not powerful enough for gaming, all I can say is DUH!!!!!! it's not aimed at the gaming crowd. Get yourself a GTX250 or higher for gaming and shut up.

1 out of 5 eggsMore Noise

Pros: As before mentioned, performance is good.

Cons: After doing some testing to pin point an electronic noise that started in May and is now unbearable it has been identified as coming from this GPU.

Zotac just yesterday conceded to my rebate request, but now it'll be an RMA instead.

1 out of 5 eggsUnbearable Noise

Pros: Performance is great.

Cons: It's unbelievable how much noise comes from the tiny fan on it.

Other Thoughts: If you're buying on a rebate promotion read the fine print, they will renege on the slightest detail, if not that, you will be waiting up to 8 months before you get it.

I bought a couple Zotac products because of their apparent lifetime warranty. I won't buy from them again.

They get one egg because customer relations are most important to me, where they fail miserably, making petty excuses to renege on a measly $15.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap But Powerful

Pros: I'm not much of a general video gamer, but I do spend a HUGE amount of time designing and building 3D objects in virtual worlds like Second Life and Open Sim. I noticed a huge improvement right away with very fluid world views.

Cons: I have it installed in a 3 year old Gateway and for the first time my system fans tend to run fairly loudly when I am using this card for 3D graphic intensive things. But that isn't the fault of the card - it's the older hardware of mine that the card is in.

Other Thoughts: All Second Life and Open Sim viewers (I've tried 9 different ones) do not seem to recognize this card as supported and as a result they set the graphics settings to the absolute basic settings by default. I'm surprised this card has not been reviewed by their software teams for inclusion. But anyway, if you use any of these virtual world viewers with this card you'll have to manually go into the Graphics settings of the viewer and crank them all up to get the best use from this card. Then it really rocks!

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT value

Pros: Runs almost every game I have so far besides Crysis on highest level of graphics with minimal issues.

System:
Intel Duo Core 6600 2.4
4GB RAM
modified Dell XPS410

Cons: Not loud really but noticeable.

Other Thoughts: As someone else wrote before I bought it. Great for a gamer on a budget.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome so far

Pros: High performance for low power and size. Fan is quiet and offset from center, making cooling better when it's slotted right next to a PCI audio card. The price is incredible for what you're getting. Plays 1080p videos just fine. Using card for HTPC and it's lived up to all my expectations.

Cons: I've found mixed information on S/PDIF passthrough for this card. I'm not sure if it supports it or not. Because the onboard audio is so good, I have no reason to look into it more. I am curious though, if anyone's got more information regarding how to pass audio from another card through this card.

Other Thoughts: HDMI out works flawlessly fed into my 55" LCD TV. One thing I found interesting is this -- since my TV supports 120hz upconverting on all it's HDMI inputs, media and gaming looks much better than when I was connecting via my VGA input. I would guess most LCD TV's only support upconverting for digital signals.

I know a lot of people have trouble getting audio to come through HDMI, but it was easy for me on Win 7. The drivers allow windows to see another audio device -- the one on this card -- and all you have to do is select it as your primary audio device. I've done some light gaming and found the audio to be quite good (much better than simple motherboard audio). The card claims it can do 7.1 surround, but I don't have the speakers to test that. I'm using regular stereo and it's great. My machine is dual boot win7/centos5. I haven't tried anything in linux yet, but Nvidia is generally good about drivers, so I'm not worried.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: I love having an HDMI, DVI, and VGA port. Performs great; 1GB is plenty.

Cons: Not really anything.

Other Thoughts: I wanted HD output for my HD monitor, but I'm not looking to play World of Warcraft at 1,000,000 x 1,000,000 resolution, so this suits just fine.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Very Fast

Pros: Small enough to fit most cases, does not use extra power connectors, 1GB DDR3 memory, fairly quiet, DVI/HDMI/D-Sub ports.

Cons: Doesn't seem to be much faster than my old 8600GTS it replaced.

Other Thoughts: Don't expect top-of-the line performance out of this board.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful

Pros: Works on all games Medium to high settings. incredible video on LCD CRT and LCD Big screen. games are so realistic. video with medium quality had new life. old games that dont work with new cards played perfectly on this card. Only uses 1 slot

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I havent tried too many highend video cards yet. this card was absolutely amazing. its being used with quad 965 and 8Gb ripjaws. If your having problems with this card its cause you need better CPU and memory which is what is mostly used in video proccessing. video is just the delivery channel and oh this really delivers and for single slot. does not get hot but my quad does.
