4 out of 5 eggsnice physx card!

Pros: liked this video card as a physx card when it accompanied my gtx 480's.

Cons: Nvidia's gtx 480 exclusive drivers when the gtx 480 first came out. I bought this card using as a physx card but had use modified inf files to make both work since gtx 480 drivers were exclusive just to the 400 series and I had a 200 series physx card. Have sold the card off privately since then because of the frustration of the driver issue.

Other Thoughts: none.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome graphics card for medium gaming

Pros: Works *better* than expected. I bought this card purely for gaming purposes to replace the GeForce 6150SE that came with my computer. This card can handle Alliance of Valiant Arms on max settings minus anti-aliasing with 80+ frames per second! And now-a-days I play almost all of my games on max settings. I'm a light gamer, generally, so it fits my use very well. On top of that, overclocking it is a breeze with Zotac Firestorm that is included in the CD that comes in the package.

Cons: The fan is a little noisy, but that's no problem for me.

Other Thoughts: It's not for hard-core gamers, but works very well for light to medium gaming.

3 out of 5 eggsWill Not Work with Ububtu 10.10

Pros: It installed without a problem with Win7 64bit, PCLinux, Open Suse, and Fedora

Cons: Ubuntu live CD 10.10 would not recognize the board after the initial boot up screen when it tried to bring up the desktop. I have tried various command line video changes to no avail. All I get is a random colored pixel pattern over the whole screen.

Other Thoughts: The same CD installs Ubuntu on other systems using various other display boards without a problem. It must be something that Zortac does different that Ubuntu doesn't like.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Unit installed, and drivers worked ok.

Cons: Cannot seat HDMI cable into port. Pushing firmly will get video, but cord won't insert fully. Any minor jostling will lose video.

Other Thoughts: Bought card for media center Home Theater system.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: It worked good for the first few weeks.

Cons: - Drivers are faulty and shut down and stop responding in Windows Vista
- Crashes
- Doesn't work

Other Thoughts: It looked like a good deal when I bought it, but after a few weeks the driver began to fail. I tried other drivers with the same result. It crashes any game although the game works great before it crashes. It will just shut down radomly. DO NOT BUY.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I bought this card for an HTPC gamind build. I read that this card only used 75w off the pci-e slot which was perfect for a mini itx board. Ended up pairing it with a Zotac mobo as well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For the price this is a great card and I highly suggest buying it.

Rig its in:
Case:Ark PI-01 Black Mini-ITX
Mobo: Zotac G43-Itx
RAM: 4gb crucial ddr2
GPU: Zotac Amp! gt 240
CPU: e3300 Celeron dual core 2.5GHZ (oc'd at 2.9ghz)

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't work for me

Pros: Pretty nice specs, single slot design, overclocked from the factory, etc.

Cons: The card would freeze on me constantly (especially during game play). I tried playing Starcraft 2 on High and Medium, but every time I would get unwanted artifacts on the screen and it would eventually cause the game to freeze. I did read online that this could be a issue with the 258.96 driver that I was using, but I can't confirm that.

Other Thoughts: I ended up buying a 5670 instead because of all the problems that I had with this card. I am usually a fan of Nvidia, but this card didn't do it for me. The 5670 has better specs, Direct X 11 support and lower power consumption. It also cost about the same as this card (so it was a no brainer for me).

5 out of 5 eggsFast

Pros: This card is madly overclocked out of the box. The build quality is high and it looks great! The PCB is flat black an white, looks very cool. The card is very heavy for it's size and the cover that says 'AMP' edition is actually made of metal and the text is machined away to reveal the shiny metal. I thought it was plastic from the picture. Runs L4D2 on all high settings at 1024x768 on my old pentium D 3.0Ghz and with 3Gb of slow, mismatched memory and a slow HDD.

By the way this card is very quiet, and even if you turn the fan speed up to 100% is is loud but not annoying at all, it just sounds like a nice breeze :)

Also the design of the heatsink will allow me to screw an aftermarket one on easily later on if it fails or if i require better cooling which probably wont happen since it idles at 37*c and maxes out at about 57*c

Cons: Had issues with install. This probly has something to do with the HDMI connetion and nividias integrated sound, but when the card was installed my built in audio stopped working and the driver majicly disaapeared. I'm sure re-installing the drivers would work fine but i just disabled it and threw in a sound card i had lying around instead.
***Also a word of advice, stay away from Nvidia Ntune, messed up this card after i played with the settings and as a result caused my system to crash immediately, took me 2 hours to fix because i had to put my old card back in to remove NTune.

Other Thoughts: The supplied adapter cable is well built.
Originally bought this card to use as a PhysX processor but I'm using it in my older comp now so my brother and I can co-op L4D2.

chose this card over other GT240's because i figured the GDDR5 would be better for a physics card as oppsed to higher capacity memory. And because this card only occupies one slot.
If i didn't care about space or GDDR5 i would have gone with Galaxy's Gt240 which is much more affordable.
