1 out of 5 eggsPoor Performance / Poor Support

Pros: Low Cost - but not worth it in the long run.

Cons: Poor drivers. Card causes Blue Screens. Zotac will not honor rebates. No one answers the phone at Zotac. Stay away from them, you don' t need the hassle.

Other Thoughts: This card constantly caused my computer to crash. Had to end up just taking it out. Drivers are sub par and not reliable. Also, Zotac denied my $20 rebate with no explanation and when I tried to call to get more info, they do not answer their phone. Unable to contact anyone. Buyer beware!!

1 out of 5 eggsinjury to insult -- avoid!

Pros: None. Although the performance is awful, I had previously reviewed this at 3.5 eggs for the price-performance ratio, and even rounded up to 4eggs. Since Zotac rebate is a scam, there is absolutely no redeeming quality of this piece o junk.

Cons: 1. Performance is awful. I had previously benched this "9800GT" at less than 40% of an EVGA 9800GT. In actual use, it feels even slower.

2. Zotac rebate is a scam. I was very careful to make sure that I qualify for two rebates -- two SLI-capable items purchased at the same time on the same invoice. After more than two months, my rebate status still showed "pending." Zotac responded to my email inquiry, that my rebates were denied because the cards were delivered to a business address. When I explained that these cards are being used in home/personal computers, delivered to a business address to avoid signature hassles, they arbitrarily decided to honor only one rebate. Case closed. No further response.

I contacted Newegg for help with this. More than a week later, when I asked for the status, that rep told me that Newegg would issue me a "goodwill" gift card for the part that Zotac arbitrarily denied. Even that gift card took nearly another two weeks and three more em

Other Thoughts: I am adding this information to warn the Newegg community of this dishonest company.

As I had previously shared, this "9800GT" is a joke. The rebate scam adds injury to the insult of having been duped into thinking that their "9800GT" might perform anywhere near a real "9800GT."

As many others have warned, avoid Zotac altogether!

2 out of 5 eggs128 bits memory bus

Pros: Low cost on shell shocker
Lifetime warranty under subscription

Cons: Never got any news of the MIR send 3 months ago
128 bit bus really hurts performance this card is far from the performance of my HD4850 very far, get a 256 bits memory bus size it's a lot more important than quantity of memory
Mirror edge wasn't smooth with settings at low/med and 1080P

Other Thoughts: Got it to replace my hd4850 until I received the new one from RMA
It's now in my girlfriend pc
Didn't saw the memory bus only the lower memory speed

Manufacturer Response:

For inquiries regarding rebates please contact our rebate department at rebate@zotacusa.com or filing a Support Ticket.

3 out of 5 eggsRebate No Show

Pros: Good product... slow company =\

Cons: I'm knocking an egg off for Zotac's criminally slow rebate processing. Pre-registered my rebate online before receiving the product (to speed the process as they advertised) and sent out the paperwork the day I got my invoice in the mail. That was June 8th. As I write this review on August 19th (10 weeks later) my rebate status still reports as "pending" when I check my online account at Zotac. I work in a Federal Office building and even we process paperwork faster than this (and we suck pretty bad).

Other Thoughts: We all know rebates can suck, but Zotac you take the cake. I'll continue scouting for deals from companies like EVGA (only took 3 weeks to get my P55 motherboard rebate) but will no longer bother with Zotac.

4 out of 5 eggsOutstanding products

Pros: It is cheap but not much cheaper than the 256 bit version. Overclockable, lower power consumption, and low temp.

Cons: It is around 40% slower than the 256 bit version. Tested with AMD x3 425, 3DMark 2006 is around 8234. You should consider price & performance when buy this product.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's a video card

Pros: Worked perfectly. I never got around to OC'ing it as it isn't in my computer. I also got a $20 rebate so it was only $50 for me.

Cons: Price to performance ratio isn't quite where I'd like, but after the $20 rebate it isn't bad. (rebates kind of suck though)

Other Thoughts: The $50 price tag got it five eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: Definitely an huge upgrade from the stock HP on-board I had. Runs Oblivion and Fallout 3 on Ultra High settings. I get a 6.5 for gaming graphics in windows experience.

Cons: Fan is a little loud, and I only get a 5.8 for windows aero in windows experience. I was hoping for a little more.

Other Thoughts: All in all a good card for the money. I'll just have to go SLI.

4 out of 5 eggs9800ish

Pros: Great upgrade from my Radeon x600 and does not require external power. Got it as a shell shocker for 50 bones.

Cons: Its an nVidia card so it runs hot. Docked it one egg because the fan controls don't seem to be controlled by anything (runs on medium speed all the time). Noisy.

The manual is not current with the actual card and holds no pertinent information about the card. Not that I needed anything from the manual but just an fyi to others.

Other Thoughts: Does not fit on a btx motherboard which is more my own fault for not realizing this before I bought it. Removed the metal plate for now so I can get it in.
