1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 2 years, just outside warranty

Pros: This thing was a beast played everything I threw at it with video capture, multiple monitors, 1080P, you name it.

Cons: Cost me $150 a year for the 2 years I got out of it.

Other Thoughts: buying EVGA next time I get an Nvidia card for lifetime warranty.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: None

Cons: Doesn't work. I get a "driver has recovered error" on startup, internet explorer, and League of Legends. I have tried all the instructions I can find. Using driver sweeper, driver cleaner, disabling the HD audio drivers, reinstalling etc etc.

Not to mention I haven't heard anything back from Zotac's support. Its utter garbage.

Do yourself a favor, google search "nvidia kernel error" and read the myriad of problems people are facing with 400/500 series cards and 2XX.XX drivers.

Thanks for nothing Zotac.

Other Thoughts: I have a 950 watt modular PSU, so its not my power supply. I reinstalled a fresh Windows 7 once I got my video card, so its not viruses.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Cerveau,
I am sorry that you have experienced issues with your graphics card. I would recommend that you submit an RMA request through our site. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Card

Pros: I spent a lot of time comparing Nvidia cards, and although this one is about 1 year old, it outperforms the 560 Ti and even the 570.
I can honestly say this is the best card I've owned and I would highly recommend it. I thrown BFBC2, AOC and two simultaneous Eve Online clients at it - all at max settings and this card runs them like a dream...all while remaining quiet. The price may seem steep, but you'll know where the extra money went when you use it.

Cons: So far - none.

Other Thoughts: Make sure your PSU has one 8-pin connector and one 6-pin connector. Both are needed to power this beast.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad.

Pros: quiet, high end card with dx11! Dont have to pay $500 for a high end card with this baby!

Cons: Its still over $300 for a year old video card. How long before its outdated?

Other Thoughts: had this card for two weeks and im currently playing arcania gothic 4 on it, which has very high end graphic details and the card just lags out on it. I expected for 300 to play a game that came out in 2010 with no problem but it struggles.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Card Great Price

Pros: The price is a great deal 300 bux for a fermi is great, and despite what some of the rumors the 480s are they are really good cards. I have 3 in SLi with water blocks, and i think they are great. 480s are actually a better card for GPGPU than 580s also.

Cons: Cooler to dang big IMO, (waterblocks for the win)

Other Thoughts: I have to be honest why anyone would buy a 580 when they can get a 480 for a couple hundred cheaper i dont know. The 480s when matched clock for clock are only about 5% slower unless you are rich or you just benchmark only there is absolutely no reason to drop another 200 for the 580. The 480s do get hot, do use alot of power, but if your getting one then your probably not too concerned about those issues. And these cards are like a tottally different monster once you get them on water cooling, it is incredible, tottally quiet, and my temps never go over 65ish with voltage increase and around 850 core.

5 out of 5 eggs- Best 480 -

Pros: Cooling, cooling, cooling. If you're looking through top-tier GPU's, you know that these graphics cards go from barbeque's to ovens; even with the stock GTX 480 cooling, which is supposedly much better than the standard sticker-griller of a heatsink, temps often rise past 80C under load. With Zotac's AMP edition however, the massive cooler keeps my card under 45C!
The extra $15 (when I bought the card a couple months ago) is absolutely worth it; a good cooling solution is the best insurance and investment you can make to protect your parts.

Cons: You'll have a world of trouble trying to SLI these beasts; the cooler on these cards takes up 3 expansion slots. I know that in my NZXT Lexa S, (bottom mounted PSU) a second card wouldn't fit, though that's really a non-issue with the performance this card offers.

Other Thoughts: Crysis at 1680x1050, DX10, all very high, averages 75FPS. Looks like nvidia's finally worked out the kinks in their WHQL drivers; DX10 performance is actually on par with DX9 framerates on this DX11 card. Even with modded viewdistances and custom TOD's, FPS never drops under 45FPS, and that's with the insane quality that most people only dreamed of in slideshow! =P

With CUDA, video rendering on Sony Vegas 9.0 takes a fraction of the time an SLI'd GTX 260 solution offered.

Because the card is so wide, many cases with a bottom-mounted PSU may have difficulty reaching the ATX12V or the EPS12V cable (extra 4 or 8 pin motherboard cable) to the mobo port because of the graphics card.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat card, bad company.

Pros: Great solid card, runs well, I haven't come across a game yet that has even been a bump in the road for it.

Cons: Zotac customer service is horrible. I was having a problem with the clocks dropping to idle while gaming on certain games. Sent in multiple emails, and posted on their tech forums. Never heard a response back once.

Other Thoughts: On a side note to fix the clock issue, I had to go into the Nvidia cp and set the global settings for power useage to max performance. Adding the games individually to the profile, and changing the power settings did not work.

4 out of 5 eggsBEST 480

Pros: VERY cool
Quiet
Fast/Powerful

Cons: HUGE CARD
Read other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I installed one of these, after buying two. I intended to SLI them, but one was not only the size of two cards like most, but it was the size of 3 cards with the video card, huge radiator heat sync, and two massive fans. It's wonderful, but I am going to sacrifice a little fan noise and heat in order to SLI two 580s together.
