4 out of 5 eggsSolid if dated card

Pros: Relatively quiet fan, even under load. Cools pretty well, too -- I've never seen it break 80C, and idles at a good ~30C.

Solid DX11 support helps in many games

Despite its age, it can still run most PC games at high specs, if not maxed out, at decent framerates

Support for all modern connectors, including DisplayPort!

Overclocks rather smoothly to some 800MHz or so for me, which is where I've been running it.

Cons: Zotac's rebate process never worked for me. I don't remember how much the rebate was, but after a while I just gave up on collecting it.

Will -not- work with more than 2 displays.

Other Thoughts: The 2-display thing is apparently an nVidia thing, so I don't let that count against it really. Just be warned that, at this time, if you're looking for a 3+ display setup, your only options to keep them all as separate desktops are either some really high-end (expensive) cards or multiple GPUs, and I ultimately settled for the latter option.

Even after almost 3 years, though, it admirably powers most games on the market and it's lasted this long without any problems. Go for it if you can find it cheap (I'd say <~$160), but don't believe any rebate offers from Zotac.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy install
Speedy

Cons: It took six months and a call to the Better Business Bureau before Zotac would cough up the rebate.
After 15 months, with no modifications to the card's default settings, the face plate is warping. And the noise is making terrible sounds.

Other Thoughts: Will not buy Zotac again.

1 out of 5 eggsCard is good... if it works

Pros: Powerful card for cheap (assuming you get the rebate).

Cons: 1) Never got my rebate and as much as I tried could not get a hold of Zotac to check up on it

2) Driver issues almost since day 1 which Zotac refused to admit was the card (I didn't have a problem with old ATi card or my old NVIDIA card) and refused to send me a replacement. Problem is such "Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 270.61 stopped responding and has successfully recovered", which causes the screen to flicker. It can happen anywhere from once a week to multiple times an hour.

Other Thoughts: I could live without the rebate but the issues with the drivers I can not stand. Avoid this card if there is another card that looks just as good even if it's for a little more money.

1 out of 5 eggsRMA Process is not cool

Pros: Card was great while it worked

Cons: "The package sent for your RMA has arrived. Please allow for up to 30 days to fully process your RMA from this date forward." - 30 days? That is a crock! I have never heard of such a wait time. I'll stick with the other big names. They at least return within 3-5 days and that's a guarantee.

Other Thoughts: This is my last Zotac purchase. I put their cards in a lot of my builds for customers. This is my 1st RMA experience with them. EVG@ gets their RMA's out much faster than this.

Manufacturer Response:

Sorry for you are experiencing this with our RMA department. ZOTAC usually takes only 3-5 days to process after we received the RMA request form. Please check your status with the RMA department vai email: rma@zotacusa.com or contact with me, sandy@zotacusa.com so I can follow up for you personally. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Card Bad Rebate

Pros: This card is great.

Cons: Their rebate system really sucks. I don't think I'll ever buy another product of theirs in the future. If they cannot keep up on their end of the bargain then I will not order their products in the future. Watch out for their rebate scam. It's been six months waiting for the rebate.

Other Thoughts: The rating is for Newegg, not for Zotac.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good Card

Pros: Very good bang/buck. Solid stable card. GTX460 768MB is the best bang/buck card you can buy. Comes OC and can be pushed REALLY far. 800/3800/1600 where stock is 650/3600/1400??? Not sure on that last one, might be like 1440. Point is OC's like a champion! Quiet too, I don't EVER hear it. Granted I have two 120mm case fans and a 140mm PSU fan.

Cons: Zotac took over 5 months to get me my rebate. And they didn't just do it; I had to goad them multiple times. At first they just said "hey, we got lots of rebates going out, this stuff takes a while, keep yo pants on". Then they were like "oh, hey, you didn't get yours? let me check on that" then a while later they were all "ok, let us know when you get your rebate; I just sent it out now". In other words, if you want your rebate expect to fight for it.

Other Thoughts: Excellent card, I had heard good things about Zotac products before so I wanted to give them a try. They DID technically get the job done; and I never had to spend any time on a phone. But still a hassle so I took away one Egg. The product is top notch though so I'll try Zotac one more time; any issues at all and that's it; everyone goes smooth and they'll be earning loyalty points.

3 out of 5 eggsDeceptive Business Practices

Pros: The card works fine. I am most pleased by the increase in power compared to old card, and the price was right.

Cons: Said price was based partly on a rebate promotion. A promotion they haven't honored until I contacted support three months after purchase. I am told that the information was there all along, and I might receive the rebate after another 30 days.

Other Thoughts: Such shady dealings are not to my liking. I will not buy ZOTAC again.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine

Pros: Fast, high quality graphics. Nvidia cards work well on Linux.

Cons: Uses two slots on my motherboard

Other Thoughts: My goal was to have a fast, high quality graphics card primarily for surfing the web, and watching video. This card might be overkill but the video quality is superb with much more detail than is apparent on lower quality cards.

3 out of 5 eggsVery hot

Pros: It's a GTX 460.

The price is right. It's definitely the best value for your money that you can get on a GPU.

Cons: It runs outrageously hot. Defectively hot. Idle is 37 as it should be, but as soon as you start up anything, it skyrockets. Mine gets to 74 just playing Starcraft 2, which is not incredibly GPU-intensive. I tried putting it through FurMark for awhile; after 2-3 minutes it hits 90 and I get scared and turn it off. This is not normal for a video card, and it can't be explained by anything except bad GPU cooling.

Other Thoughts: Will likely RMA the card, I would rather spend $15 for a quality ASUS card. It could suit someone who really wants to save a few bucks.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal!

Pros: Very fast, very reliable. Overclocked it +15% of factory settings and runs perfectly stable. Clean, looks great and really good for its price.

Cons: Requires the same screen and models if you want to play games in full screen 3d surround. Messes up and causes restarting of computer if you try to set full surround option with different screens.
