4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Bitstream audio
-Decent gaming performance

Cons: -Expensive
-Takes two slots
-Very tall

Other Thoughts: Great for a media center PC build. Runs all MKV content wonderfully. Be warned though, that this card is extremely tall, so if you have a very short HTPC case, you may have trouble getting it to fit properly.

5 out of 5 eggsNarcman

Pros: HDMI x (2) sockets and digital cable connector. The card was easy to install and reconized by Windows 7 immediately. I did have to download latest drivers from invidia so that games would work correctly.

Cons: Little big to fit into the case but works

Other Thoughts: Heat sink is large but as long as you have case fan running pulling air across it, it stays cool.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HTPC Carg

Pros: This card allowed me to minimize cables and get rid of my sound card. HDMI passes through DTS-MA just fine. Video quality is GREAT paying back video files and Blu-rays.

Cons: Heatsink is a little bulky, narrow cases will have some fitment issues (nothing a file or cut-off tool won't fix). Not the best gaming card but, it's not really meant to be, and it does better than I expected.

Other Thoughts: I was a little iffy about getting this card since some reviewers had stated the DTS-HD would not pass through. But, I took the chance since it is a supported feature of the chip-set. PowerDVD 11ulta does pass it through. In the audio setup there is a 3rd option for HD audio.

I also had the problem of it crashing Media Center while using the TV tuner. "You MUST SET YOU AUDIO CONFIG TO 2 CHANNEL (STEREO)" in both windows playback devices and Media Center. Any multi-channel digital audio will still be sent to your receiver in the digital format it is supposed to be in.

1 out of 5 eggsProblems with HDMI on BIOS POST

Pros: Quiet
DVI connection worked OK

Cons: Would not display BIOS POST on monitor connected via HDMI, monitor showed "No Signal" at all times during entire operating system boot process.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to replace an ATI HD5450 with this card. I have two monitors, a Samsung T260HD (which I connect via HDMI) and a ViewSonic VP2030b (connected via DVI). With the ATI card, both monitors will display the BIOS POST and display video throughout the boot. However, when I installed the Zotac ZT-40601-20L NVidia GT430, it would only show the BIOS POST on the DVI connection, the HDMI connected monitor would only display "No Signal". I tried several BIOS settings on the motherboard, but was unable to get the HDMI to function. I don't know if there is a conflict with the m/b (Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H) or if the video card is defective, but I returned the card. My expectation for ANY video card is that it display the BIOS POST for any supported connections (and supported connection combinations).

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsPretty nice

Pros: Obviously very quiet. WEI 6.7 for both Graphics and Gaming Graphics

Cons: Heat Sink is a little large and bulk, and hard to fit into smaller sized cases. I have two Shuttle caes and had to change my DVD-R from regular 5.25 to slimline in order to fit both into my case.

5 out of 5 eggsFulfills its niche

Pros: Quite powerful for a fanless design. If your case has decent Airflow and doesn't burn it up.
Wont get 6.9 million frames with Crysis 2 at max settings.

Cons: No SLI clip. Would have been nice to use it as a PhysX chip with a solid bridge.
Wont get 6.9 million frames with Crysis 2 at max settings.

Other Thoughts: @ 1 Egg reviewer - Measure, twice cut once bud.
@ 2 Egg reviewer - Thats a situation we call "Defective". Replace it. Either that or the load is overheating it if you dont have good airflow.

4 out of 5 eggswell built

Pros: the gt430 card is well built. fanless w/o noise is very nice. my Window 7 performance index rated it at 6.6. It is good enough for my 4 years old HP.

Cons: the manual is useless. the installation CD does not work at all with my Window 7 (32bit version). I have to find the driver from nvidia web site.

Other Thoughts: Overall the card is performing as expected and worth the money

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Has lossless HD audio passthru, plays 3D BluRay movies, fanless. Supported on Win7 x64 Media Center. Decent price.

Cons: Not the fastest GPU in the world (rates as 6.7 in Windows 7 experience index). If you're looking for a good price on a silent video card in a HTPC, this card is perfect. If you're looking for the hottest gaming video card, you might need to look elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: Make sure to download the most recent drivers for the GT 430 directly from nVidia to get lossless HD audio passthru and 3D support.

2 out of 5 eggsMovies Only!

Pros: Fanless, Lowheat, no extra power plug required. nvidia cuda saves CPU load keeping heat down. Great for watching movies on an HTPC setup.

Cons: Does not play games! Does not Play Audio! The card will Crash randomly about ever 5min. DTS-HD, and Master Audio tracks DO NOT pass though to the receiver and it only comes throught as 2 channel PCM.

Other Thoughts: If you just want to watch movies in 2 channel audio with low heat and power, it is a good card. Just dont expect any thing more out of it.
