1 out of 5 eggsRebate seekers BEWARE Ubuntu not!

Pros: Appearance, fanless

Cons: Rebate not received, price, performance, compatibility, support, company attitude.

Other Thoughts: I bought a ZOTAC ZT-20305-10L GeForce 210 in July 2011 for my AMD Phenom X4 Biostar A870 server, it would not work with Natty so I installed it in my folks aging but faithful Shuttle XPC, it was an nice upgrade for them from 512Mb to 1GB adding an HDMI port.

I would never pay $45 for a mediocre video card like this, but with the $25 rebate offered at Newegg/Zotac, it fit the bill.

After having to register on the zotac website to beging the arduous process to receive the rebate. I mailed in the documentation in August. After waiting two months I called the phone # on the website to check on the rebate. Interminable hold, nobody ever came on the line.

I sent an email to Zotac Sept 28th. It took them a week to respond: My rebate had been disqualified because I was not an "End User"

My billing address on newegg has my company name on it, by default.

I was accused of trying to single-handedly bring down the Zotac empire with my permanent marker blacking out the company n

Manufacturer Response:

Hi shouffrey,

I apologize for the inconvenience you feel you experienced. However, we ask for 12-14 weeks to process a rebate and, as a courtesy, we processed your rebate far sooner. The terms and conditions of the mail-in rebate form, which you agreed to via signature, state our position on "End User". Your rebate submission exceeded the terms and conditions of this agreement and, as such, was disqualified. Thank you.

3 out of 5 eggsRuns Hot

Pros: Good looking card
Audio over HDMI
Plug and play with Win7
Good enough performance for HTPC usage

Cons: Runs hot! Temps were at 72*C just watching TV, so I cracked the case and just pointed a 1000RPM 120mm fan at it and temps dropped to 45*C!

Card is in a location with plenty of space around it in a well ventilated case (Silverstone GD04 w/3x120mm fans running ~700RPM).

Other Thoughts: I bought this card to see if previous problems were being caused by my PNY GT240, which it seems they were, but this card will be swapped out for something that runs a little cooler.

This card may work when not being used for constant (but low demand) graphics needs like watching TV, but I can only recommend it if it's under direct airflow. Defeats the purpose of a passively cooled card though.
