5 out of 5 eggsGood budget card

Pros: I have had this card in our bedroom HTPC and it does its job. for it a budget card it handles 1080p movies and most games on moderate settings quite well, you can't expect a 60 dollar card to be a titan.....

Cons: fan can get a touch noisy, but creating a fan profile for it fixed that issue.

Other Thoughts: If you dont push the new card harder than the old you wont see a difference look at the benches this out performs the 430 if you dont understand technology dont review it. this card will make a good addition to a budget build. on a side not the 550ti is only 100 and has much better performance, it would be a better puchase if you can spare the 40 bucks

4 out of 5 eggsNVidia Rebrand

Pros: Put this card into a system that my friend owns.
Keep note, his system has a GT 430 or 440 in it.
Installed this card + installed drivers aaaand....
POOF
NO PERFORMANCE CHANGE WHATSOEVER.

I'm not too terribly mad though.
Got this card on sale for $55 and I just have to fill in rebates to see if I can get a good $20 back, making this card only $35 in the end.

What this card really does have going for it, is that it's single slot and low powered [DOES NOT NEED A POWER CORD FROM THE POWER SUPPLY, JUST INSTALL IT INTO THE PCIe SLOT]. So if someone with a prebuilt system buys it and puts it in, it will be a very easy install and upgrade (if they so happen to be running integrated graphics that is, if not, it's probably not going to be an upgrade at all)

Played BRINK on this card on medium/high settings, lower resolution.
The game faired nicely and kept good FPS.
Realistically, if you play on lower res' and tweaked settings, this card is alright.

Cons: If the price truly strikes $35, that makes the card a good buy since it will out a Radeon 6450.
If not though, the Radeon 6570/6670 in the same price range DESTROYS this card.

A real set back to these cheaper, lower end card is the DDR3 mem.
BUT, that is what makes these cards cheaper and more affordable.

To be quite honest though, I don't think anyone should ever buy a low end NVidia GPU because they all tend to be rebrands OR just very poorly made (EX: GT 640, any lower 6xx card)

At the rate the NVidia is going, Radeon cards just look like the better choice.
Even if AMD CPUs blow, atleast they understand how to make a good GPU.
And mentioning CPUs + GPUs, APUs are an alright idea for extreme budgeteers.

Now I'm rambling on.

Other Thoughts: I rounded up from a 3.5 to give this card a 4.
Zotac, the company that made this card to sell me, did a good job not to send a DOA + offered a decent rebate as I already mentioned, we'll just have to wait and see if they honor it!

These GT 630s are a good value if they so happen to be on sale with an MIR, as long as it drops the card price to about $30-$40.
Anything higher, and you're just dumping your money unless you like to watch 3D movies or something...
