3 out of 5 eggsWorked great, then died after 1 year

Pros: Worked well for my 24" Samsung SyncMaster for about a year, allowing me to support 3 independent displays from a Radeon HD 6950.

Cons: It died after a year of use, I can get absolutely no signal through it now. Two months before it died I started to experience random outages for the monitor it was attached to. The screen would flash off for a second and then come back. This was a daily occurence.

It also never worked well with Neovo F-419 that I have, it would cause major visual artifacts and a "jittery" image. However it did work for my other monitors as mentioned above.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine

Pros: I just plugged it in. It works. Newegg also had very fast service.

Cons: The XFX brand adaptor was $5 more expensive than a similar adaptor from a competitor brand.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Affordable Active DisplayPort adapter

Cons: DOA, like many others listed here. Having to pay 1/3rd the value of the item just to return it sucks. XFX should cover these costs, but they won't.

3 out of 5 eggsHit or Miss

Pros: Seconds one works, first did not.

Cons: These models seem to be a hit or miss.

Other Thoughts: I purchased mine from f r y s but like I said the first one did not work, went and exchanged it and now the new one works fine.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for me at least!

Pros: 1. luckily mine isn't DoA.

2. the one i had a year ago is still working, and this is my second one for eyefinity quad displays with XFX 6850.

Cons: 1. with shipping cost, it's $0.70 more expensive than local store sells it with tax.

2. xfx support is not that great, if you ever need to get to the company support.

Other Thoughts: i had to order something else on newegg, so instead of getting it from local store i got it from newegg, and paid 70 cents more and waited a week. If it's DOA, i can deal with it to the local store instead of getting through newegg and XFX company support, which both are not recommended, always a pain.

4 out of 5 eggsFour units, one failure

Pros: I bought four of these adapters at the beginning of October 2011 and they have worked fine until yesterday with one unit causing erratic video output patterns and blackouts/lost video signals. I am contacting XFX immediately after this review and I am hoping their service will be as good on this product as it was on my recent return of one of my two HD6970 cards. They were very prompt in getting me a replacement card, so hopefully they'll be consistent on the adapter.

Cons: My only complaint, besides the actual failure of the adapter, is that the price seems to be a bit high for this product.

Other Thoughts: This is also the second XFX product failure I've experienced since I setup my multi-monitor system in July 2011 using some of their components. But I can deal with occasional component failures as long as the company will stand behind the products with their warranty. It's also more than a bit irritating that the customer has to pay for the RMA shipping on a bona fide failure. I think this cost should be reimbursed by the mfgr.

1 out of 5 eggsD.O.A. Pile Of Junk

Pros: For this product.... None. Zero. Impossible to have even half of 1.

Cons: The whole think is a con. The sad part, I was told by XFX to buy this piece of junk. Got it today along with my new VW246H, and... nothing. Does not work with any monitor in the house, including my 3 VW246H.

Other Thoughts: Last time I ever buy anything from XFX. They cannot make a simple adapter worth a darn, why would I buy a $200+ GPU from them?

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue. Please contact our support team at xfxforce.com and we can help troubleshoot this problem with you. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Works. Detects resolution just as it should.

Cons: Only once have I had a problem. At the exact moment my monitors were going to sleep I wiggled the mouse to wake it up and I received a "DP Link power failure" warning and the third monitor plugged through this adapter did not turn on. Power-cycling the monitor made it come right back up with no other problems.
