3 out of 5 eggsNiche Product

Pros: - adds another level of immersion (especially driving games, adventure/exploration games e.g. Lara Croft)
- community mod support (Helix mods)
- glasses battery life

Cons: - this is now "late adopter" technology, with less support for games by both community and Nvidia
- 3D results vary from game to game (some outstanding, some mediocre, some not compatible)
- some interesting set up issues (e.g. need to completely uninstall software from time to time and fresh install too often), but problems easily overcome

Other Thoughts: A bit pricey at around $200 considering where it is in its product cycle, and due to diminishing support for old and new games by both Nvidia and mod supporters, but well worth it especially for racing titles.

5 out of 5 eggsHide them from kids

Pros: Great loved them. Very clear great 3D awesome product.

Cons: Easy to crack lenses. My 18 month old got ahold of them in the carry bag. Must of pushed hard on a lens with his fingers. My right lens was spider webbed when I pulled them from their carry cloth bag. So be care full with lenses if my 18 month old could spider web the lens to have black running all over the place you might want to be care full cleaning them and putting pressure on the lens.

Other Thoughts: Besides me leaving them on my computer in the back they come with sure they would of lasted for years and a amazing product.

4 out of 5 eggsSimple and fun

Pros: It brings things to life.
Seeing something in 3d is like comparing a picture to a model.
Fits over glasses.

Cons: I have a big head and after a couple hours with the headphones pressing on them too you start to feel them press on the side of the head. Nothing a little 5min break wont fix.
Not all games work well.
You have to go in the control pannel to switch 3d with Gsync its a bit of a hassle.

Other Thoughts: Its worth the experience some games work better then others.
The future is uncertain with the VR opening up more games might go for that.
Hopefully Nvidia will promore it more in parallel with VR and it might get better support if more people adopt 3D.

2 out of 5 eggsHeadache Central

Pros: They actually do work, it's sorta like watching something on a 3D TV with real perceived depth.

Cons: Like all active glasses 3D systems, it has it's major problems:
even with a top notch refresh rate (~60fps in 3d mode), this gave everyone who I asked to try it headache. Messing with the depth settings didn't help much.

Other Thoughts: A great idea that just wouldn't work.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than v1. Waaaay better.

Pros: Yes, I owned V1 of these glasses. Many years ago. I think they worked for a whole of 30 minutes. They're in the landfill. I'm pleased to say nVidia has indeed come a long way with this technology. Needless to say I was a little hesitant to take the V2 plunge as it meant a little more financial investment this time around (3D vision compatible monitor as an addition)

Initially I could not get anything to work (apart from the nVidia 3D logo demo). It was not the fault of the glasses, it was just an unexpected compatibility issue relating to my UPS (surge protecting battery). Further, it was my ignorance why I could not get 3D blu-ray movie to run for the longest time (powerDVD which is advertised as being compatible). Thankfully before I returned my purchases I realized that I had to have windows set my monitor (Asus VG248QE) to 120hz, not he 144hz I originally was using.

All works well now. Finally. The tweaking doesn't end there, however. As most will know, or eventually learn, there are community sites with modded files and settings to help you get your particular game looking its best in 3D. I like minecraft, but I first will have to set aside an hour or so to work through the tutorial to get it going in 3D. Something I just don't have time for yet. So yes, there are some expectations that advanced techniques will be required for optimal results. My current game right is FarCry4 and I did find some modded files/settings and it was fairly quick to employ. The game looks insane in 3D. I love it. I cannot go back to 2D. Period. Using 7.1 surround headphones makes the experience even further immersive.

I was planning on delving deep into the world of Witcher 3 using these glasses. Looks like I'll either have to cancel those plans or wait a while for the patching community to step in. The game is unplayable. It's ok, I can wait as FarCry still has its grip on me for a few more weeks.

Cons: A bit advanced. Fine by me, but maybe not others.
Tricky to finally get working. Had some seriously frustrating curse-uttering moments. Not the fault of the nVidia, thought the potential to run into unforeseen bumps seem more likely with this sort of technology.

Other Thoughts: Loving the direction gaming has been shifting to these past few years. 4K.... VR..... 3D displays..... 3D audio..... eventually peripherals for 3D gesture-interaction. It's a good time to be a gamer. These glasses are a really nice preview of what's to come if you're tired of waiting.

Just waiting for my additional glasses to come in so that others to enjoy movies as well.

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of money

Pros: None

Cons: Does not appear to work at all with the ROG Swift monitor. Every indicator is that it should be working, but the images all show as interlaced lines in both eyes (though slightly less in the left eye). Games show double images as though it's almost working, but either the kit is completely defective or the Swift monitor isn't working correctly (though I doubt that as it works in G-Sync mode perfectly).

Even the "Hardware Setup Test" show both images at once (though slightly less in the left eye). What a disappointment.

4 out of 5 eggsLoving it!

Pros: Game changer for playing video games that utilise this. Tomb Raider 2014 looks great!!! as well as Civilization.

Cons: My only con and why this is ranked 4 instead of five would be that I do run into problems where there emitter doesn't turn on during some games and no way to activate it.

Plus, I haven't figured out how to get a good "Pop out" effect. The only time I see images look as though they come out of the screen would be the Nvidia logo when testing. I've played with the convergence and depth. Nothing really stands out and gives that WOW factor to a "pop out". But when looking at it in regards to depth of field an over all image, it is great.

Other Thoughts: I just wish more games used Nvidia 3D. There are a few that does and others games, while looking great, isn't "true" 3d.

4 out of 5 eggsOoo 3D

Pros: Finally, to put that 3D monitor and graphics card to use. Nice easy setup, first time having 3D glasses so didn't no what to expect. Went easily over my Eyeglasses.

Cons: Not all games are 3D Ready-clearly the highest level of optimzation of the 3D gaming experience. Some games are capable while others are not very much supported (some objects may render differently). Battlefield 4 for example was tiered at "good" and some items were rendered and made the game play a bit of an eyesore. However some other games such as AION for example (who still plays that) or any one of the Batman games, are 3D READY and look very nice.

I don't think I have a big head, but the ends of the glasses feel to be pinching the sides of my head and feel a bit rough. -1 EGG for discomfort.

Other Thoughts: Do keep in mind when purchasing 3D glasses for games that your games are tiered excellent or 3DREADY for the best experience gameplay.

Only played for 30 min to an hour as some games are not all 3DREADY, gets to be an eyesore.

2 out of 5 eggsNot for serious gamers

Pros: 3D looks cool when it works, some is even impressive. Flying a plane in War Thunder feels more realistic.

Cons: In short, you settle for poorer, pixelated graphics AND being owned like a noob for mediocre 3D effect.
Allow me to explain- playing in 3D forces you to completely re-learn your games. Looking at HUD becomes painful, since it hovers over the screen. Looking at crosshairs is hard, you get double vision.
Focusing on both the crosshairs and target is hard.
Maintaining awareness is hard, because tracking a target at depth means you can no longer focus on other objects at different depth.

Overall, I feel like when playing in 3D I'm stepping back in time to poorer(3D) graphics and less skill.

I would not recommend this product, on top of gameplay difficulties, it is also:

A real pain to set up, driver installation gave me an error, resulting in the need to nuke nvidia drivers with a cleaner and re-install
Buggy IR box causes intermittent flicker in goggles
Peripheral flicker from other monitors not at 120hz
You can only get 3D Effect in full screen mode.
Finding the proper depth seting is hard, some games it's impossible to play with any depth.

Other Thoughts: I have an oculus dk2 coming, so I would be able to compare the two.
