1 out of 5 eggsProduct does not work as advertised

Pros: only 1 of the 3 machines i tried it on bluescreen. doesn't work, so it gives you time to appreciate the more important things life, like nature and your children.

Cons: Ordered product along with 2 active dp to avi adapters. set up product as instructed on my thinkpad w540 via the display port on my docking station and was unable to get any video to display on 4 monitors i tried, even when only plugging in a single monitor at a time.

then tried the product in a fairly new dell precision mobile workstation whereas this time i was able to momentarily get a display though ONE of the monitors, the computer promptly blue screened. Restarted that machine with DP hub attached and machine once again blue screened.

then i tried the hub on another dell, this time a full size precision workstation. this time i did get a display but it was all three monitors showing the same image, being detected by the OS as a single monitor.

display adapters tried (in order) quadro k1100m, quadro k600m, and a quadro 600.

even if there is some tweak that can make this work, i really don't have time for it. the person who was going to be using this is in one of my companies remote offices and i need to give him a product i know will simply function without advanced troubleshooting.

Other Thoughts: it's possible this product has poor compatibility with quadro adapters, but that isn't list on newegg product description, nor on evga's product page.

its also possible that my unit was defective, but were that the case why did it give output at all on the third computer i tried it in?

for the money i spent on this product, i could have just purchased another graphics card to solve the issue i was having. this was supposed to be an easy fix, but was instead a waste time and money.

4 out of 5 eggsHas just worked

Pros: Works great with Surface Pro 3 and two Dell P2314H monitors. Also worked with two Dell P2314T touch monitors.

Cons: One time I had trouble with one of the monitor not being recognized but, that was it. Hit the scan button and everything started working again.

Other Thoughts: Works as it should, the end.

5 out of 5 eggsEVGA Display port = Awesome

Pros: PLUG AND PLAY!!! I figured I would have to hook this up then go and change a bunch of settings to get it to work. I didnt have to do any of that, I plugged it in, and plugged in the 3 monitors that I wanted to run off of it and it was up and running in SECONDS!

Cons: None thus far

Other Thoughts: I am running a R9 270x video card that supports display port 1.2. Your graphics card must have display port 1.2 or else this will not work

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work

Pros: None

Cons: Does not work with Alienware 18 Mini Display port. Dual GTX860M and will only see a single monitor, occasionally. Using two Asus DVI monitors with active display port to DVI adapters. Avoid this product unless you know someone who has some working gear you can test with.

Other Thoughts: May work fine if I had multiple actual display port monitors but I can't chance buying new monitors just to test on a theory.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Thomas S,
I can confirm that this product does work with most configurations, but if you are having a problem it is possible there may be an issue detecting the monitors signal through your adapters. Please contact our 24 hour technical support at 1-888-881-3842 option 1 or by email at Newegg@evga.com as we are here to help you with troubleshooting and if necessary warranty support.
Sincerely,
EVGA Customer Support

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn;t work with Alienware 18 Laptop

Pros: Doesn;t work so none

Cons: Does not work with Alienware 18's Display Port. They came on briefly then refuse to display anymore. Do not buy. Dual GTX860M's in my system, attempted several cables and with/without SLI enabled. Either the the Nvidia card is bogus or this thing is, you decide.

5 out of 5 eggswonderful product

Pros: works flawlessly for the eyefinity display set up, has external lights for troubleshooting, comes with a beefy DP cable, not just a "pig tail" that is hard wired in. MUCH better choice then the Club3D, which had monitors coming on and off, and eventually had a port fail after a few months. This product has been running strong for over a month without any fails.

Cons: none, I wish I found this before the Club3D...

Other Thoughts: This product is for a monitor array, not just multiple monitors. being familiar with the AMD software I will say this makes setting up a mufti-screen display easier to accomplish by expanding your DP to 3 monitors and your final two can be connected by a "legacy" connection in accordance with the eyefinity protocols. Did I mention this is WAY better then the Club3D... no issues as of yet...

2 out of 5 eggsNot Compatible

Pros: Nice design, cool concept.

Cons: Doesn't seem to be compatible with most setups.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to setup multiple DP monitors on my Alienware which has a DP++ port and a Geforce GTX 660M. Tried windows 7, 8.1, and Linux. On all windows regardless of the driver, it wouldn't display anything on any of the DP monitors. It would mainly lock up until I unplugged it. In linux, it at least showed the screen, but was unable to seperate them into different displays. Basically just two or three of the same screen. Drivers didn't help.

After all this I tried a different laptop I have U230 Lenovo Twist with DP++. With Windows 8.1, it did showed the mirrored screens again with no separation options. Then tried a different model of monitor, no change.

Basically, if you get it to work, I'm sure it would be great. For me, it didn't work with too many different configurations, so just not practical.
