Solid piece of aluminum with a brushed finish. Although I don't generally agree with charging extra for backplates (especially when you're ALREADY spending $200 on a graphics card), but they are still luxury items, and so paying a premium for it is something that I personally don't mind. Cons: You can't pleasure yourself with it. ... Well I'm sure there are people out there that can do anything once they put their minds to it but... The back side of the video card is not the nicest thing to look at, it gives my build a more finished look. Cons: None Other Thoughts: The plate acts as a heat sink for the memory chips on the card, so there should be some cooling advantage. Did you find this review helpful? Cons: None Other Thoughts: all the screws come came and everything you need comes in the box. Backplate comes with a plastic lining to keep scratches off it. Overall like it a lot.
