1 out of 5 eggsJust Doesn't Wanna Cooperate

Pros: Came in pretty sweet packaging and an antistatic bag within, no serious scratches or anything, and included a nice DP cable and ACAD.

Cons: The point of a refurb is to replace the broken parts within with correctly functioning parts, or to fix the existing problem. I am currently staring at the device hooked up between my work laptop and a monitor and just watching the monitor constantly reconnect, flickering all the way. I think it worked all of twice, but amidst several dozen failed reconnects and two BSODs. I unplug the cable and plug it directly into the laptop and it works perfectly fine, showing that it's not the cables, it's the hub. Going to play with it a little more, if it remains an issue this will be my first RMA with Newegg.

Other Thoughts: I really want to believe in this product, it looks great, it seems great, it's got a great company behind it, but it just doesn't want to cooperate.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsInitially excited, but after some time disappointed.

Pros: Works like it says, most of the time.

Cons: Randomly stops working. Basically after my computer goes to sleep and I wake it, the screens stay in power saving mode. I have to actually power cycle the hub in order for the monitors to recognize the computer is awake.

Other Thoughts: Not recommended.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsInconsistent w/drivers of monitors, won’t turn them on

Pros: Easy to hook up, hot swap able

Cons: My displays have drivers, Dell S2716DG, and each time, almost, the computer was started up the displays would not show the log on screen. The only way to solve this was to use the HDMI or the DVI-D ports, from video card, to a different monitor and log in on that one to make the monitors on the hub to energize to be used. Even then, there were problems, the settings for the monitors were changed, and doing this each time I started the computer, it was like **** this. ONE VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: VIDEO CARD IS A "EVGA" GTX TITAN Z (3992)! YES, the product comes from the same manufacture as the video card, it's supposed to be plug and play, maybe it's my monitors, the drivers, maybe my whole computer, whatever. Here's my computer spec's, not the very highest end: (I waited 20 years for empty nest to make a better computer)
Current Rig: GIGABYTE G-1 Killer Assassin 2
Intel i7 3820 @ 3.6 GHz LGA2011
EVGA GTX TITAN Z (3992)
32GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z 2133 MHz @ 11-11-11-31
Storage:
a. 500GB
b. 2 x 250GB SSD’s
c. 2 TB HDD, back up 1 TB HDD.
Monitors:
a. 2 x Dell S2716G 2560 x 1440 @ 144 Hz (Max)
b. Dell 2310H
PS: Rosewill Bronze RBR-1000
I have been building, changing parts in my computers for 20 years and one thing for sure, what you know today is it changed by tomorrow (any subject really)

Other Thoughts: I would have to use different monitors or different video card to make this work correctly (I think). It would have been nice if the video card just had 3 output display ports but it is what it is. T/S, I used 2 completely different set of Display port cables (lol, it's always the cables fault)
I cannot recommend this hub at this time: 1. it is not functioning properly or my equipment is incompatible with it. 2. When it did worked it would only go to 60 Hz (what good is it to have (hypothetically) 144 Hz monitors when the hub can't do it), I was able to make them work at 100 Hz but the games did not want to recognize 2 monitors for 5260 x 1440 or when it did the game acted slower, sucked either way. I like EVGA but what good is their hub with 3 monitors from 'their video card' that won't run them at 60 Hz or 144 Hz (the 144 Hz is not really the point here).
Result: right now I am using 3 ports, individually, the Display port, HDMI and the DVI-D ports for 3 monitors from their video card and can only play game on only 1 monitor of them, NO HUB!
