good buy, no instructions though..
- Pros: Less wires is a plus, but i had no idea how to get this thing to work. its not just a plug and play (for me at least)...
- Cons: no instrutions
- Other Thoughts: what made it work for me: i hooked it up, turned the computer on, went to device manager, click on the uninstalled component (may or may not be visible as hd-vid/audio), threw in the installation cd for the gfx card, searched for drivers on the cd, and voila, it work.
So far so good, sound is working.
No audio
- Pros: Converts dvi to hdmi without a problem, works geat on video!
- Cons: NO SOUND! My POWERCOLOR HD2600XT 512MB is supposed to transmit audio through this specific converter, tried all drivers and tricks, got nothing!
- Other Thoughts: If you need HDMI, go buy an HDMI video card, no big difference in price. Don't waste your money in forcing your old video card to display HDMI, all new video cards have HDMI.
