3 out of 5 eggsWorking...

Pros: Working at the moment.

Cons: Intermittently cuts out and requires a reboot. Cable isn't very flexible, which doesn't work out for me specifically.

I don't think this will last much longer.

Other Thoughts: Tested on all 3 of my monitors and gives the same symptom on all of them.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Works just as advertised. Have three monitors working off a Asus 7850 now thanks to this.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You will need this most likely if you are trying to use more than 2 monitors, this seems to be one of the only active adapters. I have two DVI connections and the DP to DVI going to my three monitors now.

4 out of 5 eggsReliable 2+ years

Pros: Plug & play. Solid build quality. Worked as expected. Allowed desk top spanning triple monitor functionality from my ATI HD GPU

Prefer Sapphire, but am going to give the PowerColor active version a shot now.

Cons: Would have been nice to get more than a couple of years out of this.

Other Thoughts: Luv that 'egg.

5 out of 5 eggssolution

Pros: this was the best option (and the most talked about) for using dvi monitors with a displayport GPU port

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have an ATI Radeon 5870, and connected to that i have a 42" LG (HDMI to HDMI), a 23" dell (DVI to DVI), and another 23" dell (DVI to DisplayPort). even though your graphics card may have an HDMI port, and 2 DVI ports, you can only use any 2 of those at a time. Since the Radeon 5870 also has a DisplayPort port, you can connect up to 4 more monitors by either daisy chaining, using a DisplayPort hub, or using this adapter if your monitor does not have a DisplayPort connection. So this is how i can get away with using 3 monitors, and it works well. just plug it in and thats that.

There is some chart on the ATI site that will tell you how many monitors total your graphics card can handle, and i also think it explains further what i was talking about.

2 out of 5 eggsSimilar Problems

Pros: Worked great until now. Does what it is supposed to do, while it is working.

Cons: After about 8 months it gave up. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to make it work.

Other Thoughts: I thought it might be the video card, so I dusted it off and tried again, but still had problems. Replaced the adapter and everything is back to normal.

5 out of 5 eggsIt is indeed active

Pros: Cheap, strong build quality, is active, isn't bulky, and doesn't require its own power!

Cons: None at all

Other Thoughts: I've had this adapter along with their Mini-DisplayPort > DVI active adapter and both of them work without fail. Yes, it is active! This is also very cheap compared to some of the outrageously priced ones out there, and this still feels super solid and reliable. No glitches, no finicking, it just works.
