3 out of 5 eggsThey all seem to die, but when they work, they work

Pros: Items did was they were supposed to do initially. Maybe lasts for a year.

Cons: I have owned 4 of these over the years. 3 of the 4 have died on me. 2 died within a month or so, and another a year later. Luckily the 1st two were under warranty.

Other Thoughts: Unfortunate since these items seemed promising and their support was helpful for replacements. But having almost each one fail including the replacements is annoying. It should be noted that I have attempted to brace these in the event that the bending from the weight of the DVI cables is bad for it. This didn't appear to change the life span of these items. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I have no idea what it would be.

2 out of 5 eggsStopped working after 3 months.

Pros: When it worked it worked great.

Cons: When the cable stopped working, it stopped immediately. I use three monitors and the monitor that was using this cable went black and my computer started throwing errors with my graphics software. Replaced the cable with a different brand and everything was fine.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: This dongle works great for the price you pay. I bought it to run 3 monitors with eyefinity. Feels very solid and is compact. Port and plug seem to be very solid and well made.

Cons: The refresh at 1400x900 is not steady. I get some shearing during high motion scenes. Other then that, I have had no problems at all.

Other Thoughts: High value/cost ratio. Very solidly built.

1 out of 5 eggsDEATH

Pros: Its an adapter !

Cons: Died in under a month.

Started with some a black screen in some games and it was crashing drivers, i thought it was something else.
Then would not wake on power management turn offs. Would have to unplug and plug back in cable. Then it was freezing the system requiring a hard restart. Finally not able to load bios at all with the cable plugged in. Plugging in the cable at all while system is running will lock the system requiring a hard restart.

Other Thoughts: I should have noticed this sooner, i was not thinking about HDCP pass though on the adapter, but noticed it said it was not available with this adapter even when working. Although it's suppose to. The working one with the other gone is now showing capable.
Expensive for an adapter. Expected no problems. It's not like the cable ever gets moved or hot or anything.

5 out of 5 eggsUsed for Monitor Setup

Pros: I realized that in order to display three monitors i needed to get a display port, it works perfectly. I hope the quality last over the years.

Cons: A con is it cost more money in order to set up three monitors at once

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what you need it to.

Pros: I had one of these for about a year and a half, no problems at all. I ordered 2 more to have a full set up of display port connections because i bought a new GeForce Titan X and it only has 1 DVI so i figured i should just put all 3 displays on display port. Works perfectly right out of the package!

Cons: None ATM

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Well 3 monitors EyeFinity

Pros: Easy to use. Easy to install. Works like a champ without any issues. Had 3 monitors on HD5870 running eyefinity with this. Cord is flexible and good length ~1ft.

Cons: None at this time.

Other Thoughts: As you may know if your researching eyefinity, you are basically forced to use a displayport monitor. If you dont have one, then you must get this ACTIVE displayport adapter that has a chip to run the timing to make the conversion work.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after two weeks

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Graphical Artifacts
Short Lifespan (two weeks)

Other Thoughts: Intermittent graphic artifacts (vertical lines) from day 1. After two weeks it completely stopped working on all three HDMI ports on the graphics card. The display itself is fine (connected it to the one DVI port on my card). Since shipping an RMA is half the cost of the adapter itself (and I didn't keep the packaging) I'm just going to order a different one.
