5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works like a charm and effectively extends my display. Not sure what more I could ask for.

Cons: None. Sapphire is a good brand and the price is good enough.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as intended

Pros: Works as intended.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: locks nicely into display port to keep it from falling out of video card and unplugs easily with minimal pressure to release clip.

1 out of 5 eggsStarted acting up after 1 yr

Pros: Cheap, small footprint, easy to connect/use

Cons: Started to fail after 1 year of use (less than 8 hrs/day avg). Screen started flickering and blanking for a second at some times. I thought my monitor was on the fritz. I moved the adapter to another video card port and monitor, same issue.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 5 months, kind of...

Pros: When it works, it's pretty cool to have a triple monitor setup.

Cons: I had to unplug and replug the cable every time I restarted my computer for the monitor to be detected. After five months, I started getting displayport link failures and I was unable to have the monitor detected appropriately. Reinstalling drivers, switching cables, monitors, etc didn't fix the issue.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat While They Work

Pros: - Functions as advertised
- Sturdy construction

Cons: I ordered two of these on August 27th. I did not receive and start using them until September 4th. In the time since one has started having issues and no longer works for long or at all. I am attempting for an RMA considering how new the faulty adapter still is. It started having issues the day of this review(Nov. 21).

Other Thoughts: My rating and Pros/Cons will be updated after I go through an RMA process(if I am able to).

2 out of 5 eggsWent Flakey

Pros: Worked great when it worked.

Cons: Lasted slightly over 1 year, started to get errors in AMD's control panel stating that there was something wrong, then the screen was stuck at 640x480, then eventually it died completely. Really should not be any excuses as to why this didn't last at least 2 years.

4 out of 5 eggsOne is going flaky after 14 months.. but bought another

Pros: I got two last year (to run 3 external DVI monitors off my HP Envy laptop; is sweet)
Worked perfectly for me unlike a passive adapter which didn't work at all.

Cons: After a year one of my two adapters has become flaky (and I never move it! Not a physical wear'n'tear issue), now only works sporadically; either no picture or distorted/shimmering.
Appears there is generic issue with these from other reports, however when it works, it works.

Other Thoughts: Slightly irritated but bought another one 'cos once you're used to quad displays there's no going back...

4 out of 5 eggsDid a good job while it lasted

Pros: Price. Ease if setup for eyefinity.

Cons: Stopped working after 2.5 years.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to setup my eyefinity gaming system with a Sapphire HD 6950 2gb video card. Worked great out of the box and was virtually trouble free for over 2 years. Started getting Displayport sync flood errors and spent countless hours trying to track down the problem. Monitor using this adapter would not display. I like Sapphire products and will continue to buy them. Honestly not sure how much life you should get from an item at this price point. Was replaced with same item from different manufacturer as it was what was on hand at local store...sorry newegg could'nt wait so bought locally. Gave it 4 stars as it was problem free for over 2 years. If you experience the same problem it may be your adapter going out.
