1 out of 5 eggsFailed after 5 weeks

Pros: It worked great for 3 weeks.

Cons: After 3 weeks of use, the monitor this adapter was connected to went blank. After unplugging it and plugging it back in, it started working again, so I figured it was just a loose connection. Two weeks later, the same thing happened, only this time, the monitor would not turn back on after re-seating the connector. I tried it on a different monitor, then a different computer/monitor, but nothing worked. Finally, I borrowed a different adapter from a co-worker, and the different adapter worked.

All tech eventually goes bad, but complete failure after only 5 weeks is unacceptable. Unfortunately it was just after the return period ended, and it is not worth the hassle and shipping expense to RMA this piece of junk.

Other Thoughts: Do yourself a favor and buy a different adapter.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked, then started failing.

Pros: It allowed (and still does at times) my eyefinity setup to work.

Cons: It started having issues after about 8 months. At that point the monitor plugged into this adapter would suddenly stop receiving a signal. I would have to unplug the adapter, wait a few seconds then plug it back in for the monitor to start working again. This has become more frequent over the last four months.

Other Thoughts: I originally bought what was supposed to be an active adapter but it didn't allow a three monitor setup on my AMD card to work (so I assume it wasn't actually active). I bought this adapter a couple of months later to remedy that and it worked.

When my monitor started having issues I originally suspected all kinds of other problems, from driver issues, power saving mode issues to heat of the monitor or graphics card. I eventually started swapping around the adapters to different monitors and noticed the problem followed this adapter. I then swapped it out for one I borrowed from a friend and the problem went away altogether.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected!

Pros: Works as expected, actively converting a mini DP to a DVI for eyefinity type setups.

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: Purchased this on accident to be honest, I meant to purchase the regular sized DP since my primary card doesn't have a mini DP out, just 2 DVI, an HDMI, and a DP out... lucky me, the second card does so I swapped them around, but hardware issues are stopping the MoBo from recognizing the second card =/.
Unfortunately, no where near where I live happens to carry DP to DVI actives, or a DP to mini DP adapter (They have a ton of the opposites, but that doesn't help me).

Not gonna mark the product down for me being in a rush to order, that's my bad, and I'll hold onto it for future use and order the right one.

1 out of 5 eggsSapphire Active Mini Display Port

Pros: Inexpensive - Small Footprint. Worked well for 5 months.

Cons: Died after 5 Months.

Other Thoughts: Pretty disappointed but it looks like most display adapters have a limited lifespan of a year or less. I'll try a different brand. If it dies, I'll just upgrade to a video card that doesn't need these short-lived cables.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked for a little while...

Pros: It worked for a couple months...

Cons: It is starting to fail, depending on the angle my computer is at. If I touch it it either loses connection completely or only shows a some colors.

Manufacturer Response:

We are very sorry that you have had problems with your cable.

We do hope that your return goes smoothly

3 out of 5 eggsWorked while it worked

Pros: Worked while it worked.

Cons: It stopped working after 5 months.

Other Thoughts: It worked perfectly while it worked then suddenly just stopped. No warning what so ever. Just wasn't working the next time I turned my computer on. I find this highly unacceptable.
